00:00There's a tea sandwich recipe that a lot of y'all grew up eating that I had never heard of, but I'm excited to try it.
00:06Now for Southern Style Tea Sandwiches, we are starting out with either one of these two things.
00:11Mayonnaise or cream cheese.
00:13For this recipe, cream cheese is our base.
00:16I have also finely chopped up some walnuts.
00:19There's also a little bit of chopped parsley because is it even a fancy tea sandwich if you don't have a little speck of green in there?
00:25For a little bit of pizzazz and freshness, there is some lemon zest.
00:28There's one more ingredient that I love.
00:31It is one of my secret weapon ingredients to making everything taste good.
00:36What is the fifth and final ingredient?
00:38Vidaya onions.
00:39There are some people out there who can't get behind that raw onion flavor, especially when it comes to a tea sandwich.
00:46I don't care if I have a little bit of onion breath.
00:48I'm not kissing anybody at a baby shower or a wedding shower.
00:52Also, Vidaya onions are really sweet.
00:54The onion breath is not really something you have to worry about.
00:56And before y'all pitch a fit about what I'm going to do with these crusts, this is what you eat.
01:00This is the chef's snack.
01:02You have to serve dainty tea sandwiches on a pretty plate.
01:06That is a non-negotiable.
01:07Today, I am using my Pewter Armatel set.
01:10Here we go.
01:11The crunch of the walnut onion takes it over the top.
01:16I am definitely adding these to my rotation of tea sandwiches.
01:19Y'all, you have got to try these.
01:22Knocked out.
