00:00Ukraine celebrated its 34th anniversary of Independence Day on Sunday,
00:08commemorating its declaration of independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
00:13Ukrainian President Zelensky addressed the nation, calling for a just peace to its war with Russia.
00:19What our future will be is up to us alone, he said in a nod to the recent US-Russia summit in Alaska.
00:27Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was present at the event and is expected to meet with Zelensky.
00:34Norway also pledged its support for Ukraine, announcing a nearly €600 million military aid package for air defence systems.
00:43Meanwhile, Russia has accused Ukraine of starting a fire at a nuclear power plant in the western Kursk region.
00:50Kyiv has not commented on the attack and the fire has been put out without further incidences.
00:57At least 64 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza over the past 24 hours.
01:07Medical sources in Gaza hospitals say at least 16 were killed on Sunday, including 7 aid-seekers.
01:14They were travelling through a military zone south of the Strip, headed to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation hub near Khan Yunus,
01:21when Israeli soldiers opened fire on them.
01:23The Gaza Health Ministry says at least 2,000 Palestinians seeking aid from the group have been killed and some 14,000 others were wounded.
01:31Meanwhile, an already dire humanitarian catastrophe continues to worsen, as eight more Palestinians, including one child, died of starvation on Sunday.
01:41It brings the total malnutrition-related deaths to 289, including 115 children.
01:49The UN stresses many more are at risk of imminent death, as it warns that 90% of the roughly 2 million population are facing starvation.
01:57Israeli attacks, which have so far killed close to 63,000 Palestinians, have been intensifying ahead of an imminent planned occupation of Gaza City.
02:07Several European countries will be halting their postal services to the U.S. after Donald Trump scrapped a tax exemption on low-import goods worth less than 800 dollars, or 688 euros, last month.

03:51Second place went to a Japanese contestant after a fiercely fought-out final.
03:55Rotio clinched the title by a razor-thin 0.1 margin in an extra air-off round after the top two competitors were tied after two rounds.
