00:00Previously on Project Runway, I'm back!
00:07I'm having a slight flashback because in my other season,
00:12it was also a team challenge, and I'm having a little PTSD.
00:16What's happening? I already need a martini. All right.
00:19In season 19, I left on episode one,
00:22but I'm very confident about what I made for this challenge.
00:26Literally, like, my intern could sew that in 30 minutes.
00:29I'm a Gemini. I take critiques very like,
00:31don't tell me what to do.
00:33That was the one that I'm using.
00:34Okay, well, I can use it too.
00:36BJ is in her own bubble.
00:39She's very standoffish.
00:40Which part of my start?
00:42This is my best-in-law.
00:43Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.
00:45She's what we call in the business.
00:47A .
00:49Congratulations, Ethan.
00:51You're the winner of this challenge.
00:53Shut up!
00:54Casey, Joseph, and Antonio.
00:57You had the three bottom looks.
00:58Am I being punk?
01:00Ooh.
01:01Oh, he's spicy.
01:02I don't think there's any reason to be defensive.
01:04No, I'm not being defensive at all.
01:05Casey, it's very lackluster.
01:08And what you then wrapped around to me looks like an afterthought.
01:11Do we sit home with a bad dress or the bad attitude?
01:14Just very emotional.
01:16I can't believe this is happening again.
01:18You're so mean.
01:19I'm gonna know.
01:20Why am I here?
01:21I want to go home.
01:26A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine, and a life-changing mentorship
01:33with the CFDA.
01:34I can't believe it could happen again.
01:36It just feels like a bad joke.
01:37I can't go home.
01:38Like, I didn't get to show who I was as a designer.
01:41Let's prove to them that we'd make it to the end.
01:45My brother and I are supposed to make it to the end together.
02:11I can't believe I'm in the bottom.
02:13I might be going home.
02:15We're ready?
02:26Casey, Antonio, Joseph, we've made our decision.
02:38Joseph, you're safe.
02:42You can leave the runway.
02:45Thank you, Joseph.
02:52Casey, you had the most beautiful fabric, but it was evident you had unresolved design
02:59problems.
03:01Casey, you had a lot of these.
03:14One of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
03:22Antonio.
03:28You're in.
03:39You can leave the runway.
03:41I'll work a bad at times.
03:44Oh, Kasey, I'm so sorry, but that means you're out.
03:50Yes.
03:51Oh, my God, you're so sweet.
03:53I'm so grateful to have met you.
03:56Good luck.
04:01Bye, guys.
04:02Kasey.
04:03Babe.
04:04Come here.
04:05I'm so glad I got to meet you guys.
04:07I'm, like, beyond shocked to be eliminated for this look.
04:10Kasey.
04:11Yes.
04:12It's hard.
04:13But you're so talented.
04:14That's why you're here.
04:15That's why you came back, right?
04:17Think about, hold that strong.
04:18Thank you, Christian.
04:19I'm going to send you the workroom, clean up your space.
04:21Say goodbye to everybody, okay?
04:22Okay.
04:24And good luck.
04:25I wish to leave this stage of the competition again.
04:28I definitely feel like I wish I could have shown more, but I still am really proud of it.
04:32Project Runway is an experience I will never forget, and I'm probably finished with as of now.
04:40All right.
04:41Come back.
04:42Sit around.
04:43We're not done.
04:44Oh, my God.
04:45What?
04:46Christian, I don't know how much we can take today.
04:47Competition is very real now.
04:48You just saw it.
04:49Kasey walked out the door.
04:50Goes quick.
04:51Ethan, congratulations.
04:52Thank you so much.
04:53I have something extra for you.
04:55Oh, my jeez.
05:09Oh, what do you got, mama?
05:12Because you guys are going to continue to work in houses a little longer.
05:17Oh.
05:18What?
05:19As the winning designer in the next challenge, you're going to have an opportunity to swap a designer from a house.
05:23Swap a designer from a house.
05:30Christian Siriano really came in and was like,
05:33let me just drop a rock into this pond.
05:35Think on it.
05:37Like Heidi said, new house, new rules.
05:40Okay.
05:41You'll decide at the next challenge.
05:44The houses aren't over yet.
05:46Get ready for it.
05:48Bring it on.
05:49I think I know what I'm going to do.
05:51Things are about to get spicy.
05:53Here we go.
05:58Oh, oh, some jump ropes.
06:03That Pilates ring in.
06:06Hey, guys, guys, listen to this.
06:09Here's a gift.
06:10Put these on and meet me in the workroom.
06:13Christian.
06:15Let's go.
06:19That last challenge was a lot for me and Antonio.
06:22I think you are being defensive and also a little bit rude.
06:26Sorry if you hate the coat.
06:28I hate the whole look.
06:29But at the same time, blah.
06:30Don't you worry.
06:31We're about to prove you so wrong.
06:36All right, everybody, let's go to the workroom.
06:38My strategy about this switch is I really want to make sure I'm making the best decision for me.
06:46So do I get rid of Jesus, the boisterous one?
06:50All I have to do is prove him wrong.
06:52Or VJ that is hard to work with.
06:56How's it going, Diva?
06:58This one.
07:00So here's to the right choice.
07:04I like to shake it up and keep that body working.
07:07All right, come on, get zen, get comfortable, get on your mat.
07:16I don't know any yoga poses.
07:18Does anybody know yoga poses?
07:19Okay, come show me.
07:21Yoga is not my thing.
07:23I'm the type of person that gets really bored in the gym.
07:27Bend this knee, yes.
07:28My workout is walking to that coffee shop and then enjoy people watching.
07:34That's my workout.
07:35I think I pulled something.
07:39So you're going to continue to work in houses, Ethan.
07:43Remember, you have the power to swap a member of your house.
07:48I think I am going to do a swap.
07:51A swap.
07:53Uh-oh.
07:54If Ethan is smart enough, he's going to keep me
07:57because he knows what I'm capable of doing
07:59and he knows I'm a strong designer.
08:01I think he should get rid of Vijay
08:03because she has not been a team player
08:05and bring over Antonio.
08:07The pressure.
08:08The pressure is getting wussaps.
08:10Yes.
08:12So I'm going to swap
08:14Jesus
08:18with Madeline.
08:21Woo!
08:24Jesus and Madeline.
08:27Madeline.
08:28Wow.
08:31You messed up, honey.
08:32I hope you don't regret your decision.
08:35I have full confidence that you're going to kill it.
08:37And I really want to see this dynamic happen
08:39because y'all have been claiming
08:41that y'all are a powerhouse together
08:43and I want to see it.
08:45Well, get ready.
08:47They are all talk.
08:49They run a store together,
08:50but I'd love to see this store close, baby.
08:53All right.
08:54For this challenge,
08:56each house must create a cohesive
08:58activewear capsule collection
09:02where the collection goes from workout
09:04to the weekend
09:05with one of the hottest activewear companies,
09:09Kalia.
09:10Woo!
09:11So to give you guys some more insight into Kalia,
09:15we have a special guest,
09:17vice president
09:18and head designer for Kalia,
09:21Alicia Scott.
09:22Woo!
09:24Beautiful!
09:24Beautiful!
09:26Hi, guys.
09:27So good to meet all of you.
09:29We created Kalia about 10 years ago
09:31and really wanted to form a brand
09:33that is the perfect juxtaposition
09:35of fashion and femininity and function.
09:39And I love how you guys have all styled
09:40all your pieces you got today.
09:42Our entire collection is rooted in performance.
09:45If you're designing a look for Pilates or run,
09:48it needs to be able to function.
09:50We believe there's beauty in the burn.
09:52How's it going to work
09:53whenever she is doing a downward dog?
09:55Make sure that when you're designing a piece,
09:57it can be used for working out,
09:59going to grab coffee,
10:01going out to grab cocktails with your friends.
10:03It needs to be versatile.
10:05So not only has Kalia provided lookbooks,
10:08they've also provided all the fabrications
10:11for the challenge.
10:12Okay.
10:12That's not all.
10:14Kalia is going to produce and sell
10:18the winning look from the winning collection.
10:22That would be so cool
10:23to have a Joseph McCray and Kalia produce.
10:26I feel like it would eat down.
10:27I love the idea of this, like, beauty in the burn.
10:31So what if we have, like, fire on the runway?
10:34Ooh.
10:35Like, actual fire.
10:37So you'll have all of today
10:39and part of tomorrow
10:41to create your fire-worthy collections.
10:44Don't you love a one-day challenge?
10:46Yes.
10:47One day to do this,
10:48as if there weren't enough stress already.
10:51The burn of it all.
10:52Oh, my God.
10:54Bye.
10:54Bye.
10:55Bye.
10:56Ethan, you want to see what it's like
11:00when you put Antonio and I together?
11:02It's going to be game on
11:04and it's going to push me
11:06to even do better to beat him
11:08and then he's going to realize
11:10that he f***ed up.
11:12Girl, whatever.
11:13What's our team?
11:20Team winner.
11:21Team winner.
11:23Team winner.
11:24That's a good one.
11:24Team winning.
11:25No.
11:25It has something to do with fire.
11:28Team burn.
11:30I guess it's final answer.
11:31I'm glad I put together a strong team.
11:34I really wanted to equalize the energy of our group
11:37by putting all of the boisterous energies on one team.
11:41I want this one.
11:42I want this eight.
11:43I bet you're first.
11:45I'm actually very happy that Ethan let go Jesus
11:50because I don't want another drama.
11:53That was the one that I'm using.
11:54Okay, well, I can use it too.
11:57And it could be hot to do the lines
12:00in the pop-up wrap.
12:02So we'll all have the lines incorporated.
12:05Okay, guys, we need to start the guiding fabrics.
12:09I just want to be cohesive.
12:11I do like this color story situation going on over here.
12:14But we got to pick a group of fabrics
12:16and all go with it, you guys.
12:18We decided to call our team the House of Lotus
12:20because we wanted to feel the vent within the berm.
12:23And so coming off the last challenge,
12:26being in the bottom,
12:27our stickler was our cohesion.
12:30So as we're going through these fabrics
12:32that Kalia provided us,
12:33we're really paying attention
12:35to what color palette we want to do
12:37so that we really nail that cohesion this time.
12:39Because if we miss it two times in a row,
12:42are we going to be done for?
12:43I love this fabric.
12:45I was trying to get the colors out of this.
12:47This has all your colors.
12:50Once again, Antonio,
12:52is choosing the fabric
12:54and I'm getting a little anxious
12:55because the last time he chose fabric,
12:58we were in the bottom.
13:01Can y'all roll the tape back?
13:02The fabric that I brought from home is in pink.
13:05So let's have the inspiration
13:06of our collection be butterflies.
13:08That's the best one out of all of them.
13:10I think we should go with that.
13:11I don't like that.
13:11No?
13:12Mm-mm.
13:13You like this better?
13:14I mean, I like this.
13:16I don't like that either, but I mean...
13:17That's what I wanted to start with.
13:19Miss Joan, I want to know...
13:20It is what it is.
13:21Oh, is the drama already beginning?
13:24You know, working with the twins,
13:25you know, they're a whole vibe,
13:27but our looks have to be cohesive.
13:30I love Miss Joan,
13:32but she's a little, little old school
13:34and stuck in the back in the days.
13:36This fabric's so cool.
13:37It's just more young.
13:38I'll make it work.
13:39Don't use the fabric scissors,
13:45you nincompoop.
13:47I love Alex.
13:48I didn't expect this competition
13:49to become so connective so quickly,
13:53and me and Alex bonded so quickly.
13:55It's so soft.
13:56It's so cozy.
13:57Like, she's going to be in it.
13:57I mean, I want it.
13:58I want it.
13:59I'm making a lounge sweatsuit
14:02with a corset bustier top.
14:05It all sprouted from trying to use
14:08the aspects of a kimono.
14:10I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina,
14:14but my Nana was a tailor
14:16from Nagasaki, Japan.
14:17So I find a lot of inspiration
14:20in what the Japanese call
14:22intangible cultural treasures.
14:24But my mama would say
14:26that I don't bring enough
14:28of the South with me.
14:31How are you feeling this week?
14:33Feeling great.
14:34It looks really cool.
14:35Thank you so much.
14:36I appreciate that.
14:37You are absolutely looking
14:39at the next winner of Project Runway.
14:42My design aesthetic is a combination
14:44of streetwear and elegance.
14:46I want to win Project Runway
14:47for my daughter, Ava.
14:49It's right here.
14:51Having her change me as a person,
14:53it gave me so much more drive
14:54and I do this all for her.
14:57So I have to make this stand out
14:59and hopefully wow the judges.
15:04Madeline, what informs your work?
15:07I'm trying to always like
15:09see things that I like
15:11about vintage fashion,
15:13but then giving it
15:14like my own little twist.
15:16What about yourself?
15:18I grew up in like
15:19a hoedunk farm town.
15:20I just felt inherently so different
15:22from the rest of my family.
15:23the only thing I could really do
15:25was, you know, rely on my own creativity
15:28and imagination to kind of distract me
15:30from, you know, feeling like I belong there.
15:33Did they accept you as you are?
15:35Like, you know, when I finally did
15:38come out, they were like,
15:40we don't get it yet,
15:41but we just don't want to lose you.
15:43So we're going to try to figure this out.
15:46I feel really blessed
15:47to be able to have my family
15:49and my life.
15:50So it makes me want to
15:53really push myself
15:54to win this for them.
15:57I do think the silhouette
16:06of this skirt,
16:07you still have to figure out.
16:09Oh, Lord.
16:10This might send me home.
16:12I am a technical designer
16:15and I am a serious workaholic.
16:18My family is Jamaican
16:19and I've always been raised
16:20with all the elders around me
16:22doing multiple things.
16:24Even if it's not their job,
16:25they're going to figure out
16:26how to do it that day and do it.
16:28So I have to push myself
16:29because this workout
16:31to weekend challenge
16:32is taking me out of my comfort zone.
16:35I really wanted to do something
16:36that was extremely comfortable.
16:38I think it feels a little too demure.
16:41I think I made the right decision.
16:44I was the one who fought
16:45to use this print
16:46because Mrs. Joan didn't like it.
16:47She still doesn't like it.
16:48Okay.
16:49So you did it again.
16:51You wanted a print again.
16:53Everybody wants this print?
16:57Groundbreaking, this circle skirt.
17:00Yeah.
17:01Mm-hmm.
17:01I can cut a circle out right now
17:03and do this in 10 minutes.
17:04Really?
17:06We're kind of not the exact same
17:09look from the last challenge,
17:11but you're making a jacket
17:12and a jacket and a skirt?
17:14A jacket and a skirt.
17:16Let me tell you a little something
17:18about Christian Seriano.
17:20Christian will come in the workroom like,
17:22mm, are you sure about that?
17:25Or he'll be walking around like,
17:27mm, okay.
17:28That little face be killing me
17:30with them glasses
17:30and that hair perfectly
17:32swathed to the side.
17:33The top being fabulous
17:35is very important here.
17:36We should develop this more
17:37because you already know
17:39you can make a cool jacket.
17:40I'm going to listen to Christian
17:41because I know I'm taking a risk,
17:43but I do not want to be
17:44in the bottom again.
17:45You got a lot to do.
17:46I got you.
17:46Okay.
17:47Let's get it.
17:49I'm kind of going for, like,
17:51that modern
17:51with a little bit of Tron.
17:53This sash doesn't do anything.
17:56She couldn't do any athletic things
17:58with this hanging.
18:00Mm.
18:02What are all these lines on this?
18:04So I kind of want to achieve
18:06this kind of, like, texture.
18:08All of these lines
18:09you're going to weave.
18:10The inspirations for this design
18:12is the Kalia logo.
18:14It's, like, a twisted string.
18:17It's, like, very dynamic.
18:19What are you doing?
18:20It's going to be, like,
18:22a more, like, athletic,
18:24fancy corset bustier kind of thing.
18:29This makes no sense
18:30for an athletic look.
18:33That scares me.
18:34Athleisure specifically
18:35is not something
18:36that I normally do.
18:38Unfortunately, time is not
18:40on our side
18:41in this competition.
18:43Christian has his doubts
18:44about this corset,
18:46but we're sticking
18:46to our guns.
18:48Hmm.
18:49What are you doing?
18:50I am doing
18:51an oversized hoodie,
18:53which I'm thinking about
18:54cropping.
18:55I did the pin tucking
18:56by hand.
18:57Mm-hmm.
18:57It's going to have
18:58the same pin tucking
18:59all over the pants
19:00as well.
19:01Oh.
19:01So you're also doing
19:02a sweat...
19:04Oversized sweat pant.
19:05Oversized sweat pant
19:07in the same fabric.
19:09Is the pant wide,
19:10like, that wide?
19:11You haven't even looked
19:12at each other's stuff,
19:13and she's, like,
19:14right in front of you.
19:15Honestly,
19:16I really don't know much
19:17about what my team
19:18is doing.
19:19This is it.
19:20Yes.
19:21Looks very similar.
19:22Having looked at
19:23the other designers
19:24on my team,
19:25I've just been too focused.
19:26So we just have
19:27a wide pant off
19:29on the runway
19:30in the same fabric.
19:32What the f***?
19:33Like, what am I
19:34going to do next?
19:34I need to think fast
19:35and pivot
19:36into some other
19:37different silhouette.
19:38If I don't succeed,
19:40I'm worried it might
19:41put me on the bottom.
19:41So I'm looking
19:48at Team Lotus,
19:49and it does not fit
19:51the brief that we got.
19:52What's going on?
19:53It's going to be
19:53the pop-out.
19:54So we both have mesh.
19:55Their looks are looking
19:56a little all over the place.
19:58I think that we're
19:59going to take this one home.
20:00I look at the other team.
20:02It's like crickets
20:03in that side of the room.
20:04No one's really
20:05talking to each other.
20:06And here we are,
20:07like, you know,
20:07blah, blah, blah.
20:09And then at night,
20:10she just puts a glove
20:11and honey.
20:12Okay, this, do this.
20:13Like, we're helping
20:14each other.
20:15Yes.
20:16Yes.
20:17Ethan, I hate to tell you,
20:18but you will be
20:19the losing team.
20:23Models, let's go!
20:26This very cool jacket
20:32with a pleated skirt.
20:34That's the top?
20:36I think so.
20:37So how does one
20:38do anything athletic
20:40in that top?
20:41I think I'm going to hit
20:46eating it up
20:47and it's just like,
20:47yeah, no.
20:49Are we playing tennis
20:50where you tie your arms up?
20:53If I don't come through
20:54with this bra,
20:54like, I feel like
20:55the whole look
20:56is going to go kaput.
20:57It's so different
20:59when I design on paper
21:00and design on you.
21:02You trend's pleated skirt.
21:04It's really short.
21:05I thought it was a mistake,
21:07but it's not a mistake.
21:10Because mama,
21:11I'm a slut.
21:12You decided?
21:13Yeah, I'm going to do
21:14some nice shorts
21:15and then the cargo pockets.
21:19That shoe?
21:20Are you nuts?
21:21What kind of shoe?
21:22Blah.
21:22Whoa, what?
21:24That he buying something.
21:26That tic-tac shoe?
21:29You have no side seam.
21:31There's no side seam.
21:33Interesting.
21:35You can do that.
21:37Look at her butt.
21:38That's crazy.
21:39These pants are styled
21:41after a Japanese hakama pant
21:43where there aren't
21:45really side seams
21:46and all of the volume
21:47is put into pleats
21:49across the back.
21:50Since we're paying homage
21:52to my Japanese ancestress,
21:55it's really important for me
21:57to nail this look that I make.
21:59And I am feeling the pressure.
22:01Bye, models.
22:04Thank you so much.
22:07Hello?
22:08Oh, I have to take this.
22:09Sorry.
22:09You're going to be laughing
22:10when that little hem falls out.
22:12I'm going to tear it up.
22:14I'm feeling really good
22:15about my look.
22:16But what if your team doesn't?
22:18But after the model fitting,
22:19I'm feeling a little worried
22:20about my team.
22:22Alex has these grand ideas,
22:23but she is running out of time.
22:26And Angelo's work
22:27is looking a little simple.
22:28If Jesus kills it,
22:30then I lost a valuable plan.
22:31I hope that I made
22:32the right decision.
22:37Guys, our muses are here.
22:39Look at this.
22:40All right, designers,
22:42send your models
22:42to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
22:46We got three hours
22:47to finish up these looks
22:49and send these girls
22:50down the runway.
22:50It's crunch time.
22:52Glowy, dewy kind of thing.
22:54I love it.
22:54Maybe something that's been
22:55like smudged a little bit.
22:57That's it right there.
22:58Bye.
22:59Bye, everybody.
23:00Y'all have fun.
23:01Until next time.
23:02Is there a leader this time?
23:05No, because I think
23:06we don't want to have a leader
23:08technically because we don't
23:09want to blame someone.
23:10The last team challenge,
23:12I think Jesus was acting
23:14as the leader
23:15because he talked a lot.
23:18But this time,
23:20we don't have a leader,
23:21so it's a mess.
23:22All right, five minutes,
23:23you guys.
23:24Five minutes.
23:25We're leaving this room.
23:26That's the back of the pan?
23:29Mm-hmm.
23:29Okay.
23:30Well, I know I ain't in the pan.
23:32I'm worried about Alex.
23:35She's looking not finished.
23:37Mm-mm-mm.
23:38Child.
23:39I mean, I got what?
23:41How many minutes?
23:41I am really concerned
23:43with how the top is turning out
23:45and the cut of the pant.
23:46Are there pockets?
23:48No.
23:48No.
23:49All right.
23:49But there's no more time
23:51and nothing else to do about it.
23:54All right, designers.
23:55That's it.
23:56That's time.
23:57Hello, designers.
24:05Welcome to The Runway.
24:07As you know, in fashion,
24:08one day you're in
24:09and the next day,
24:10you're out.
24:11For this challenge,
24:12we asked you to create
24:13a cohesive, active wear collection
24:15for Kalia
24:16that goes from workout
24:17to weekend.
24:18You worked in teams
24:19and you had only one day
24:21to create your collection.
24:22All right, let's meet our judges.
24:24CFDA award-winning stylist
24:26and image architect,
24:28La Roche.
24:30Editor-in-chief of Elle magazine,
24:32Nina Garcia.
24:35And our guest judge
24:36and co-owner
24:37of the fashion line
24:38favorite daughter,
24:39Sarah Foster.
24:41I'm so excited
24:43to see Miss Sarah Foster.
24:44She has a really good head
24:45on her shoulders
24:46around how to make a woman
24:47feel beautiful
24:48and comfortable in the clothes.
24:50She's gorgeous.
24:51Okay, we're ready.
24:51Let's start the show.
24:52It's going to be flaming hot.
24:54I wish I had a marshmallow.
24:58This got flammable hair now.
24:59Wait a minute.
25:00I told you it was going to be hot
25:01and I was not talking
25:02about Hans and Franz.
25:03I do feel like I have
25:17successfully captured
25:18the essence of this challenge
25:19with creating something
25:20that goes from
25:21workout to weekend.
25:23With the pin tucking,
25:24the silhouette,
25:25the styling's really good.
25:27I'm feeling really confident.
25:28Oh, she's a professional.
25:29I'm very proud of this look.
25:36My look looks very modern,
25:38sexy, and fun.
25:39And the red line
25:40on the jacket
25:41is everything.
25:42That is a short skirt,
25:44but she's got some good legs.
25:46Look at us now.
25:49Baby, you're not here I come.
25:51I'm just looking at the outfit.
25:53It's not as bad
25:54as I expected it to be,
25:57but I know what's going on
25:59on the inside.
26:01This messy, messy.
26:04I'm not happy about it.
26:06It could have been worse.
26:07It could have also been better.
26:09I like that.
26:09I would wear that.
26:11You're very generous.
26:12Oh, no.
26:13With my athleisure look,
26:18I'm feeling pretty satisfied.
26:20I like it.
26:21I think it's cute.
26:22It's nothing, like,
26:23really shocking.
26:25But I am just elated
26:26that the athleisure challenge
26:28is in the past.
26:29She's got it.
26:33She looks amazing.
26:36I've worked hard
26:37to achieve that details
26:39that those string
26:40woven by hand,
26:42I cut all those holes
26:43individually.
26:44It takes a lot of work
26:45to create that textile.
26:46I want to make sure
26:47that every piece
26:49that I make
26:49is a labor of love.
26:51I don't get that curly hair
26:52with that.
26:56With that side fin,
26:58it's flowing down the runway.
26:59It's got movement.
27:01Oh, it looks so good.
27:04I would wear that now.
27:05I may have slayed
27:06a little bit too hard this week,
27:08so I'm hoping that
27:09it can pull this team
27:10through to the win.
27:12It's going to break this.
27:17This look,
27:18it's very universal.
27:19This girl can do Pilates
27:21and then put some heels on,
27:23put a jacket on,
27:23and go have a cocktail
27:24with the girl
27:25just at night.
27:26I'm proud of myself.
27:27It would mean a lot
27:28to win this challenge
27:29and have that collab
27:29with Leah.
27:30Coming from the crowd,
27:31I'm going to shut it down.
27:32Going like this,
27:33going like, going like,
27:34going like this.
27:36I'm happy with how
27:37this look turned out.
27:39I feel like it's me.
27:40And I'm starting
27:41to be more confident
27:42in what I'm designing
27:44and believe whatever
27:45I'm creating is good.
27:46Do it like this.
27:50I see my look
27:52coming down the runway
27:53and I'm thinking,
27:53okay, yes.
27:54Even though I didn't
27:56choose this fabric,
27:57I was able to be
27:58a team player.
27:59and I think
28:00that she looks fabulous.
28:01I love the drama.
28:03This is the future.
28:04You better own it.
28:05I nailed it.
28:07Oh, no.
28:07Oh, my God.
28:09This is the moment.
28:11Here it goes.
28:13They're going to watch me now.
28:14Well, we know who that is.
28:18My model is looking
28:20so everything.
28:22And then she unzips
28:23this jacket
28:23and it's just like,
28:25oh, welcome to the party.
28:27Bring out the tata.
28:28I took a risk
28:30with almost recreating
28:31my previous look
28:32and I hope this paid off.
28:40That's my girl.
28:41Wow.
28:41Like, I'm just literally
28:43getting chills.
28:44The way she's walking,
28:45the way that the pants
28:46are moving,
28:46how powerful she looks.
28:48I'm feeling great.
28:50I could definitely
28:51see this in stores
28:52and see a lot of people
28:53wanting these pants,
28:54wanting this bomber,
28:55even the bag.
28:56I love this.
28:58Our team,
28:59everything was executed
29:00beautifully
29:01and I think that
29:02that showed on the runway.
29:02We did go good.
29:04We did it.
29:05I am not worried
29:06about myself,
29:07but it's hard to tell,
29:08you know,
29:09it's two different vibes.
29:11So I hope that the switch
29:12doesn't come back
29:13to bite me in the butt.
29:18Hello, hello, hello.
29:20Bravo.
29:21That was a show
29:22worthy of fire.
29:23Congrats to all of you.
29:24We have scored your designs
29:26in one house,
29:28ran circles around the other.
29:30Here we go.
29:33Antonio,
29:34Joan,
29:35Yes.
29:36Josep,
29:37Jesus,
29:39and Polania.
29:42You are the winning house.
29:43What?
29:45Wait, what?
29:46Wait, wait, wait.
29:47I don't think that's it.
29:48I don't think that's it.
29:49Alex,
29:52Angelo,
29:53Madeline,
29:54Eugene,
29:55BJ,
29:56and Ethan.
29:57You are our least
29:58favorite collection.
30:00Damn.
30:01We're going to talk
30:02to you later
30:03and you can leave the runway.
30:05Damn it.
30:07My squad being
30:08in the bottom,
30:09that's unfortunate.
30:10I don't know what happened.
30:14I don't get it.
30:15We just clearly
30:16took two different directions.
30:18Team-wise.
30:20Chips fall where they may, right?
30:22This challenge
30:23meant a lot to me.
30:24I just got
30:25in my head.
30:27I just hope that
30:28I get to stay.
30:32Congratulations.
30:33What we really liked
30:34about your collection
30:35is that there was a cohesion.
30:36Thank you so much.
30:38All right,
30:38we would like to talk
30:39to the designers
30:40that were our three
30:41favorite looks.
30:42And that is you,
30:43Josep,
30:44Polania,
30:45and you, Jesus.
30:49So that means
30:49Joan.
30:50Yes.
30:51And Antonio.
30:52You're safe.
30:53But I do have to tell you,
30:54Antonio,
30:55we all thought
30:57that yours
30:57was our least favorite
30:59in the winning team.
31:03Thank you so much.
31:04You can leave the runway.
31:05Nice meeting you guys.
31:06Bye.
31:06My brother's in the top
31:07again for the second week.
31:09I thought my look
31:09was really good.
31:10I want to be on top.
31:11It sucks.
31:12So I am just ready
31:14to prove these judges wrong.
31:16All right,
31:16let's bring out your models.
31:19Come on, girls.
31:22Yes.
31:22What's up,
31:23our stuffy?
31:23How we did it?
31:24We're going to start
31:25with the designer
31:25where we didn't have
31:26to guess a whole lot
31:28who made it,
31:29and that is Josep.
31:30Without a doubt,
31:31when we saw her walk
31:32down the runway,
31:33we knew it was you.
31:34And I think she could
31:35actually work out in this
31:36because of her little shorts under.
31:37Oh, surprise, surprise.
31:40Yay.
31:41And she can throw on a pump
31:42or a heel
31:42and go straight to the weekend,
31:44which that was the challenge.
31:46Thank you so much.
31:47I would wear that jacket
31:48to the gym,
31:49but then I'd also wear it
31:50to dinner that night
31:51with a pair of jeans.
31:52I don't, I'm into you.
31:53I don't know how else
31:54I can say it.
31:55I mean, I'm just into all of it.
31:56I like your look too.
31:57I like her vibe.
31:58It stands out.
31:59It's memorable.
32:00To me, she's badass
32:01and flirty at the same time.
32:03Thank you, Joseph.
32:05Thank you so much, everyone.
32:07All right, Belania,
32:08you're next.
32:08Oh, Lauren.
32:09I really love the work
32:11that you did on this top.
32:13I think it's really beautiful.
32:15I love all the detail
32:17that you made
32:19with the pockets, correct?
32:21And I love the fact
32:22that you considered an option.
32:25She can be resurred
32:26with the turtleneck
32:27and she can be super sexy
32:28without it.
32:30Yep.
32:30I mean, I like that fabric
32:31as you can see.
32:32I have to think.
32:33The detail of the skirt
32:35is really cool
32:36and it's a flattering waistband.
32:38Waistbands can go
32:39very unflattering
32:40very easily.
32:43Whatever it is,
32:43I like it.
32:45All right,
32:46that leaves us
32:46with Jesus.
32:47Jesus,
32:48I have to say this.
32:49You have done something
32:51that a lot of people
32:52cannot do
32:53and that is
32:55to shut me up.
32:57Wow.
32:57I was so tough
32:58on you on the runway
32:59and you were
33:00in the winning group
33:01and I was still
33:02tough on you
33:02on the runway.
33:03I actually hated
33:04your look.
33:05She doesn't look cool.
33:06She doesn't look young.
33:07I think this is
33:08so versatile.
33:09I think that a girl
33:10could really work out
33:11with this.
33:12And sellable, too.
33:12Yeah.
33:12Really sellable.
33:13Work out with it
33:14and then wear it
33:15out on the weekend.
33:16I would wear those pants
33:17in a heartbeat.
33:18The pant turns
33:19into a straight leg pant.
33:21She could wear it
33:22like this.
33:22I mean,
33:23she could open up
33:23a little.
33:24Well done on that.
33:25Fabulous.
33:27Chic and effortless.
33:30What I also love
33:31is the detail.
33:32The fact that you
33:33thought about
33:33the zipper on the side.
33:35Can you turn around?
33:37And that little pocket
33:38with that little
33:40black detail.
33:42Those details
33:42all matter.
33:43Yeah.
33:44Right?
33:44Yeah.
33:44Thank you, Nina.
33:45I want to be this girl
33:46that would wear this.
33:47Thank you so much.
33:49But now is
33:50the moment of truth.
33:53They can only
33:53be one winner.
33:54And Jesus,
33:58it's you.
33:59You were our favorite
34:00look.
34:00Congratulations.
34:01Oh, he's crying.
34:03Don't be hiding
34:03those tears.
34:04I want to see them.
34:07Those are tears of joy.
34:09Yeah.
34:10Not only are you
34:11the winner.
34:12That's crazy.
34:13But that also means
34:14that Kalia will also
34:15produce and sell
34:16your look.
34:17And I'm going to buy it.
34:18Me too.
34:19I love it.
34:20Congratulations.
34:21We're all going to wear it.
34:22Wow.
34:23Thank you guys so much.
34:24All right.
34:25You can leave the runway.
34:27Oh, my gosh.
34:27We did it.
34:28Ethan, you got rid of me
34:29and I prove you wrong.
34:32I truly believe that
34:33if I would have stayed
34:33in his team,
34:35we would have won again.
34:37I won.
34:38When I came on
34:42Project Runway
34:4315 years ago,
34:44I was so young.
34:46I wasn't really
34:47out of the closet
34:47at that time
34:48and I didn't know
34:50who I was
34:50as a designer
34:51and now coming back,
34:52I am a loud,
34:54gay, queer boy.
34:55So to win the challenge
34:56and do this collab
34:57with Kalia,
34:58it just reassured
34:59my purpose
35:00of why I'm here,
35:01to create really amazing
35:02stuff and to be on top.
35:03Unfortunately,
35:10you were our
35:11least favorite collection.
35:13Ethan, your team
35:15you.
35:21Unfortunately,
35:22you were our
35:22least favorite collection.
35:24Ethan, your team
35:25you.
35:30Ethan, tell us,
35:31why do you think
35:32you guys are up here?
35:33Yeah, I think it's,
35:35I think we did
35:36a great job.
35:37I think you did
35:39a great job.
35:41You had my favorite
35:42piece.
35:43I agree.
35:43So modern.
35:45Do you regret
35:46switching one person out?
35:49I, I don't want
35:50to say I shot myself
35:51in the foot
35:51because I love our team.
35:53I don't believe you.
35:55I think you knew
35:56that you had a great look
35:57and you didn't give a
35:58about the other people
35:59on the team.
36:02Damn.
36:02All right,
36:04Alex,
36:04Angelo and BJ,
36:07you are our
36:07least favorite looks.
36:08That means
36:09Eugene,
36:10Ethan and Madeline.
36:12You're safe.
36:12You can leave the runway.
36:19All right, BJ,
36:20let's start with you.
36:21Let's start with the positives
36:22because there is a positive here.
36:24The silhouette,
36:25I think, is nice.
36:25I like the length.
36:26I like that it's not a midi
36:27and it's not a mini.
36:28I think that's versatile.
36:30A lot of people
36:30can wear that.
36:31It's just really,
36:31that's all I liked about it.
36:33You guys like the ties?
36:35I love the ties.
36:36Dangling?
36:36I think it kind of
36:37looks like a tampon.
36:38I think, oh.
36:40I mean, this is,
36:41this is unwearable.
36:42I also don't understand
36:44this girl.
36:44I think the work
36:45that you've done,
36:46I think it's quite beautiful,
36:47but it doesn't scream
36:48active wear to me at all.
36:50Like, I don't get it.
36:51That's the problem.
36:51That's the problem, yeah.
36:52You needed to make this
36:54a top,
36:56a pair of black leggings,
36:58and call it a day,
37:00and you would have had a hit.
37:02This didn't need
37:02to be a cocktail dress.
37:04Out of context.
37:06All right, Angelo,
37:07let's hear about your look.
37:09I designed men's streetwear,
37:10so I just wanted
37:11to stay true to myself.
37:13I think where you
37:14have to be careful, Angelo,
37:16is that it felt to me
37:18a little safe and boring.
37:21You really need to bring in
37:23a sense of drama.
37:25Step it up.
37:26Listen, I'm a basic bitch,
37:28so I love sweats.
37:29I think this is cool.
37:30I like this.
37:31It's different, you know what I mean?
37:32It's not for me,
37:33but I appreciate that
37:34you added that detail
37:35on sweats.
37:36I think it's really well made.
37:39It's just, there was
37:39no showmanship to it.
37:41Yeah.
37:41You know, I think
37:42that's where you fell flat.
37:43Okay, thank you.
37:45All right, Alex,
37:46tell us about your look.
37:47So quite a few of my pieces
37:48are also inspired by kimonos.
37:50I incorporate into the way
37:53that I create different pieces.
37:54Is that part of your heritage
37:55to kimono?
37:56Yes, my grandmother
37:57was Japanese.
37:58Okay.
37:59So I go to the sauna a lot
38:01and I love a corset.
38:03I don't care what the situation is.
38:05At the sauna?
38:06Well, obviously you're not
38:07going to wear a corset
38:08in the sauna,
38:09but post-sauna you can...
38:10But you gave her a corset.
38:12She doesn't look comfortable at all.
38:14She can't work out in this.
38:16Guys, the story has to match.
38:18You cannot piss on me
38:20and tell me it's raining.
38:21I'm sorry.
38:21Okay, well, the corset,
38:23you're right,
38:23but the pant
38:24and the sweater top,
38:25I did like.
38:26I liked the movement
38:27coming down the runway.
38:28I don't know when it was coming down.
38:29I was like,
38:29oh, it looks kind of like
38:30Laura Piana vibes.
38:31Laura Piana vibes.
38:33Come on, guys.
38:34Turn around, please.
38:36No.
38:37Do you see the seam
38:38of the pant
38:39when she turns around?
38:40There's the puckering.
38:41Yeah, it is a struggle
38:42in the back.
38:43There's a little bit
38:44of a problem
38:45with this bib
38:46that falls from the corset.
38:48I think there's
38:48too many ideas put in.
38:50The flap in the front,
38:51the flaps down the arms.
38:52She's playing
38:53Amish to her heritage.
38:54Yes, I love that,
38:56but I don't see that
38:56in the look at all.
38:58No.
38:59All right.
38:59There's a lot
39:00for us to talk about.
39:01You can leave the runway.
39:08Let's talk about Angelo.
39:09It is a tough competition
39:11to be in
39:11if you're that much
39:13of a minimalist
39:13because this is a show
39:15and you're competing
39:16with people
39:17that are going to
39:18razzle-dazzle.
39:19You have to remember
39:19you are in a competition.
39:21You have to remember that.
39:22Give us a show.
39:26Vijay's look
39:27was actually really good.
39:28I hated it.
39:29The ties were insane.
39:31I thought the dress
39:32was really well made.
39:34It was just out of context.
39:35Yes, I would buy that.
39:36It was the wrong story.
39:38The sneakers with it
39:39is for me the worst.
39:40Yeah.
39:40She has to really watch out
39:42for her styling
39:43because I don't think
39:44she's got it together.
39:46And it's, as we all know,
39:48a full polish look
39:49that has to come down.
39:50Yeah.
39:50It may not be
39:52at leisure wear,
39:53but I hope that
39:54the judges will appreciate
39:55the hard work
39:57that I put in that dress.
39:59Alex's was an eyesore.
40:00The execution was really poor
40:02and frankly,
40:03I also thought
40:04her styling was bad.
40:05Yeah.
40:06That as a top,
40:07I could work with that.
40:08Like with jeans
40:09and I literally
40:10can't work with
40:10any of it.
40:12I do not want
40:13to be part of
40:13a judging panel
40:14where everybody
40:15gets a trophy.
40:16It was really bad.
40:18It was bad.
40:18I agree.
40:20I'm not ready
40:21to go home
40:21this early in the game.
40:23I want my daughter
40:23to see her dad
40:25give it his all
40:26to achieve the dream
40:27of becoming
40:28the next big thing
40:29in fashion.
40:30It has been
40:31so much fun.
40:32I'm so pissed though.
40:35It's disappointing
40:36knowing what
40:38you have to offer
40:39and not doing that.
40:41I just hope
40:42that I have the chance
40:43to show people
40:44what I bring
40:46to the table
40:46as a creative.
40:48Oh God.
40:51My girl Alex,
40:52she's in the bottom.
40:53I wonder if things
40:54would have been different
40:55if I kept Jesus
40:56and next Vijay.
40:58Maybe I should have
40:59been more of a leader.
41:00there's a part of me
41:01that's thinking
41:02that this is
41:04because of me.
41:06One mistake
41:07can send you home.
41:11Project Runway
41:12is,
41:13I know it's going
41:14to change my life
41:15for the better.
41:16I just hope
41:17that the judges
41:18will give me
41:18another chance.
41:22Next time
41:22on Project Runway,
41:24I think we're
41:24going to blow it up.
41:25Ethan and Jesus,
41:27you'll be picking
41:28your houses.
41:29I always wanted
41:30to start my own
41:30house.
41:32Each house
41:32must show
41:33that boring
41:33can be brilliant.
41:35Sofia Vergara
41:36will wear
41:36the winning look.
41:37Woo!
41:39What is all that?
41:41Fringe?
41:42Oh Lord.
41:44Wait,
41:44you have nothing
41:45to try on.
41:45Oh no.
41:46Ethan,
41:46your team
41:47has no clothes.
41:49It's super sexy.
41:51It was perfect
41:52for me.
41:53I'm in shock
41:54actually.
41:55I did not
41:55come to work
41:56to look at
41:56a bunch
41:57of ugly clothes.
41:58I am pissed off.
41:59I have a
42:01You have A
42:02toolkit.
42:03I am safe
42:04for me.
42:04I have to
42:04dress,
42:05I am sorry.
42:07I have to
42:08do it okay,
42:09I will tie my own
42:09show,
42:10for you.
42:10I do a
42:10job.
42:11I have to
42:12go, baby !
42:13sobie
