Chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) are highly intelligent primates found in African forests and savannas. They share about 98–99% of their DNA with humans, making them our closest living relatives along with bonobos. Chimpanzees live in social groups, use tools for hunting and gathering, and communicate through gestures, sounds, and facial expressions. They are omnivores, eating fruits, leaves, insects, and sometimes small animals.
