Meta Signs $10B Cloud Contract With Google To Power AI Infrastructure

Meta has agreed to spend more than $10 billion on Google Cloud services over six years, according to CNBC. Google is pursuing major cloud contracts to compete with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, after recently securing business from OpenAI. Google Cloud reported $2.83 billion in operating income on $13.6 billion in second-quarter revenue, with 32% growth outpacing Alphabet’s overall 13.8% expansion. Meta’s deal with Google centers on artificial intelligence infrastructure. The social media giant expects 2025 expenses of $114 to $118 billion as it invests in AI talent, develops its Llama models, and integrates AI across services. Despite being ad rivals, Meta relies on cloud infrastructure from Google, Amazon, and Microsoft in addition to its own data centers.
