Wildfires continue to devastate Portugal, where a firefighter suffered severe burns after flames engulfed his truck in Valverde. At least three people have been killed and more than 2,700 square kilometers destroyed — the worst fire season since 2017. Neighboring Spain is also battling large blazes after a record heatwave.
