00:00Right, yes, go ahead.
00:02I'm Ben Wish, my first principal of Waden School.
00:05And I'm Ben Wish, my first principal of Waden School.
00:07So very, very proud today.
00:09Right, what's made you so proud?
00:11I just think the results that these students have achieved was absolutely amazing.
00:17They were great New Zealand that they had at very different times.
00:21So they did six years of SATs.
00:24And then they had a very different start to secondary school.
00:27And despite all of that, they had absolutely gone.
00:30I cried.
00:31Incredible.
00:32So they are the Covid youngsters.
00:37They were really very disruptive.
00:40And they've done exceptionally well.
00:43So they came here in September 2020 then?
00:46Yes.
00:47Yes.
00:48Yes, they've done very well.
00:51And what's the overall percentage of passes here?
00:56So at the moment we're looking at around 92% in terms of GCSEs from both 94, including English and maths.
01:03Yeah.
01:04Which we're really really proud of.
01:06We're also really proud of the amount of 9 to 7 grades.
01:09Yeah.
01:10So we're about 48% of our exam entries are GCSEs grade 9 to 7.
01:14But alongside that we're absolutely delighted with the young people they've become.
01:17Yeah.
01:18We've had a really really good year with them.
01:20And they've done incredibly well.
01:22They're fantastic role models I think for future year groups.
01:26And I think both of us are really really proud of the staff.
01:29The staff have worked exceptionally hard with the students.
01:31And it's a lovely day just to see students and staff alongside each other celebrating fantastic outcomes.
