32:11which to the best of my knowledge did not actually happen but once they started killing things i started
32:18bringing my passport and all my money and my plane ticket with me every day to the set
32:25i wasn't sure if i this was a snuff movie or not i didn't know what their intention was
32:35it feels like about as close to a snuff film as you want to see i mean these guys did kill a turtle so
32:43maybe they really is they these people really die like what the hell how the hell they make this movie
32:47you know pretty powerful stuff huh to use that contract between filmmaker and audience and take
32:58advantage in some ways of the audience's credulity is part of the game being played i know that there
33:06was some kind of fuss kicked up by the mercury theater war of the world broadcast in 1938 which
33:14is using some of the same tactics as does cannibal holocaust this is orson wells ladies and gentlemen
33:21out of character to assure you that the war of the world has no further significance than as the
33:27holiday offering it was intended to be but i don't know to what degree an audience of 1980
33:34who saw cannibal holocaust thought that they were watching human lives snuffed out on camera i would
33:41guess there was certainly a smidgen of the audience that did i don't have a film con immagini

34:32the plan was to tell that we really died he said okay everybody think is a is real that this is a
34:40real documentary he wanted to market the film as if it was a snuff movie i mean blair which is a
34:49different story because it was a different time and obviously we hadn't killed the filmmakers but
34:53with cannibal holocaust filmmakers basically hid the actors and i think that's part of why they got into
34:58trouble it was like a real court case and stuff like right he had to like prove himself in court that
35:16they that that you know just the techniques and the actors had like come out and actually like
35:20you know show themselves you know show themselves the president del tribunale

36:19he actually killed someone uh no no um um a lot of elements uh a lot of elements that are tied to the
36:30trial um that return in many interviews are often part of that wanting to create a legend basically you
36:38know what we do know for a fact is that there was indeed a hearing that involved central uffizi the

37:51canceled i was very happy i was so happy that the the movie has been banned so that nobody could see
37:59that series of events really kind of changed the course of that was career and pretty much everybody
38:04who participated in the film
38:05we find the cannibal genre to be the last big phenomenon
38:13italian cinema was a giant and a giant dies it doesn't die softly in the night
38:20it dies shouting and screaming and kicking and that's how italian genre cinema died
38:27in the jungle with people being ripped apart

39:29vedete il taglio della testa di quell'americano in iraq vi fa impressione più quello o il film
39:38cannibal holocaust e lui mi ha risposto no cannibal holocaust è molto più forte del taglio della
39:44della testa che hanno fatto vedere dell'americano in iraq ha detto non solo ho raggiunto lo scopo
39:54ma l'ho superato ho superato la realtà
39:57ma l'ho più importante cosa che vogliono capire il film che non abbiamo capito ancora
40:07questo è un film è solo rock'n'roll
40:12un giorno ho venuto a vedere Alice Cooper
40:15e io stavo filmando in film
40:18e ho filmato parte del concerto
40:20poi siamo tornati in l'edizione
40:22e noi non potevamo la cantina e l'edizione
40:27ho fatto la clappi, potete vedere, vi fatti
40:29le mo'viola era veramente
40:34e era senza cantare
40:36come Alice Cooper può cantare senza cantare?

40:48so i think cannibal holocaust it sounds rock and roll
40:54it is something that i regret the most of course and uh apart to have to to to deal with myself
41:04for long long time to have been part of this cannibal holocaust so i never know if i ever
41:12forgive myself uh to be in the movie i can't understand the reason for such cruelty when
41:21you watch cannibal holocaust what do you feel nobody's ever asked me that um wow that's a good question
41:33well the first word that came to mind was awful
