Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should consider apologising first for various false allegations levelled against the Madani government.

00:00After officiating the ASEAN Law Forum 2025 in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday,
00:09Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told the media that Perikatan National Chairman
00:14Tanshri Muhyiddin Yassin should also apologize for making false allegations against the Madani
00:20government. Anwar said he has left it to Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission
00:26to investigate the authenticity of the sources regarding a statement made by himself.
00:45On August 14th in Parliament, Anwar said he will await the finding of the MCMC probe
00:51before deciding whether to apologize to Muhyiddin over the issue.
00:56Two weeks ago, Muhyiddin questioned the source cited by Anwar, who claimed that Muhyiddin
01:06had defended foreigners in the Ron 95 fuel subsidy rationalization issue. Anwar reportedly
01:13said Muhyiddin had asked why the government was burdening foreigners who also contributed
01:18to the country. Muhyiddin said the Prime Minister had cited information from a fake source and
01:24while it may have been a mistake, he only wanted a simple apology.
