Thunderstorms have led to ground stops in Dallas, Texas, in the morning of Aug. 20. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will cause delays in the Northeast cities of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Transcript
00:00We have a ground stop now at Dallas-Fort Worth International with those thunderstorms nearby.
00:05This is going to be a problem for the next couple of hours, certainly in Dallas,
00:09until those thunderstorms clear the area.
00:12Despite the low clouds and fog, I haven't seen anything at Philadelphia International Airport.
00:16They are susceptible to flight delays when the ceilings or the low cloud deck,
00:21when it gets below about 1,000 feet, maybe down, usually around 1,000 feet,
00:26will do it for delays in Philadelphia.
00:27I haven't seen any yet, but I think you do have to worry about that here this morning.
00:32Then the thunderstorms in the afternoon will cause some moderate delays.
00:36Also, I have minor delays posted because of thunderstorms in Boston, Dulles, New York City.
00:41Pittsburgh should start to improve this afternoon.
