US Open 2025: Swiatek, Sabalenka or Gauff on track for the title?

Next stop: New York! Former world no. 1 Ana Ivanovic weighs up Swiatek, Sabalenka and Gauff's chances.

00:00I think that's probably the hardest question, as always, because the women's field is so wide open.

00:10I do have my favorites with Iga, Sabalenka, Koko.

00:19Koko has won there before, but also Rybakina has been showing some really good form coming into US Open,

00:24so definitely I think they are the big attendance.

00:27But then again, Osaka has had a great tournament a few weeks ago.

00:31It's nice to see her kind of back to the level where she was at.

00:44I really like her style of game, you know, I think she's fearless, she's going for her shots.

00:50Of course, she's again now at a different stage in her career, you know, she already won so much,

00:54and it's, you know, been dominant for a while, you know, and being number one and so on.

00:58So now that's changing a little bit, Iga regaining her form back and that rivalry is now, you know, piling up.

01:03So I think it will be a different Sabalenka coming into US Open,

01:07but I still rate her one of the favorites because, like I said, very dominant game and this is what women's tennis needs.

01:14I was actually there for the final Wimbledon.

01:24You can really feel how the player behaves also between the points and that tells you a lot about,

01:29you know, which mental state they are at and the level of the game and she's definitely on a top.

01:35The way she mentally handles things, I think it's really incredible.

01:38So for sure she can build on that and win more Grand Slams.

01:50She's still kind of developing.

01:51She's only 21 and she already has so many, you know, great success under her belt.

01:57She also had a great success at US Open, which shows that she can handle the pressure on the home soil.

02:01So I think there is a great potential for her to win many more Grand Slams.

02:06And of course, those little up and downs are normal.

02:16I do think she has a bright future in front of her and it's such a boost.

02:20Like again, to win at home soil, it gives another level of excitement as well.

02:26But I don't think she would be thinking about pressure at the moment.

02:29I expect her to have a really good run at the US Open.
