00:12It was on July 30th, 2000, when what the people knew as the mega-elections were held following the approval of a new constitution that established the creation of a social and legal state.
00:23This election process confirmed Commander Hugo Chavez as president of the country with more than 59% of the votes counted.
00:29A month after this triumph, the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, reiterated, as he did in 1999, his unwavering commitment to the changes ordered in the constitutional texts with a view to consolidating the new republic.
