00:00Previously on Project Runway.
00:02I'm back!
00:07I'm having a slight flashback
00:09because in my other season,
00:12it was also a team challenge,
00:14and I'm having a little PTSD.
00:16What's happening?
00:17I already need a martini.
00:19All right.
00:20In season 19, I left on episode one,
00:22but I'm very confident about what I made for this challenge.
00:26Literally, like, my intern could sew that in 30 minutes.
00:29I'm a Gemini.
00:30I take critiques very like,
00:31don't tell me what to do.
00:33That was the one that I'm using.
00:34Like, which one?
00:35Which one is who?
00:36BJ is in her own bubble.
00:39She's very standoffish.
00:41Which one I start?
00:42This is my dad and la.
00:43Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
00:45She's what we call in the business.
00:47A .
00:49Congratulations, Ethan.
00:51You're the winner of this challenge.
00:53Shut up!
00:54Casey, Joseph, and Antonio.
00:57You had the three bottom looks.
00:58Am I being punk?
01:00Ooh.
01:01Ooh, he's spicy.
01:02I don't think there's any reason to be defensive.
01:04No, I'm not being defensive at all.
01:05Casey, it's very lackluster.
01:08And what you then wrapped around to me looks like an afterthought.
01:11Do we sit home with a bad dress or the bad attitude?
01:14Just very emotional.
01:15I can't believe this is happening again.
01:17You're so mean.
01:19I don't know.
01:20Why am I here?
01:22I want to go home.
01:26A stake for the winner is $200,000.
01:29A spread in Elle magazine.
01:31And a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:34This is Project Runway.
01:36Project Runway.
01:45I really, like, can't handle.
01:46Okay, it's okay.
01:47It's okay.
01:48It's not the criticism.
01:49It's just, like, being in this position again.
01:51Yes.
01:52I'm pretty shocked I'm in the bottom three.
01:54After being eliminated on episode one of another season,
01:57I can't believe it could happen again.
01:59It just feels like a bad joke.
02:01I can't go home.
02:02Like, I didn't get to show who I was as a designer.
02:06Let's prove to them that we can make it to the end.
02:09My brother and I are supposed to make it to the end together.
02:12I can't believe I'm in the bottom.
02:14I might be going home.
02:15We're ready?
02:21Casey, Antonio, Joseph, we've made our decision.
02:38Joseph, you're safe.
02:42You can leave the runway.
02:44Thank you, Joseph.
02:52Casey, you had the most beautiful fabric, but it was evident you had unresolved design problems.
03:01Antonio, I actually thought your dress was delicious, but your attitude was despicable.
03:10Hmm.
03:12Casey, Antonio, one of you will be in and one of you will be out.
03:21Yeah, I'm sorry.
03:22Antonio, you're in.
03:27You're in.
03:29Um, sorry.
03:31It's okay.
03:32I love you.
03:34Keep quiet, all right?
03:35You can leave the runway.
03:36I'll work about it.
03:38Casey, I'm so sorry, but that means you're out.
03:42Yes.
03:43Okay, I'll work about it.
03:44Oh, stop.
03:45I'm sorry.
03:46I'm sorry.
03:47You're out?
03:48I'm sorry, but that means you're out.
03:49Yes.
03:50you're out yes oh my god you're so sweet i'm so grateful to met you good luck thank you
04:01bye guys
04:04come here i'm so glad i got to meet you guys i'm like beyond shocked to be eliminated for this look
04:10casey yes i know it's rough going on the first it's hard but you're so talented that's why you're
04:16here that's why you came back right think about hold that thank you i'm gonna send you the work
04:20room clean up your space say goodbye to everybody okay okay thank you and good luck it feels harsh
04:25to leave at this stage of the competition again i definitely feel like i wish i could have shown
04:30more but i still am really proud of it project runway is an experience i will never forget
04:37and i'm probably finished with as of now
04:46all right come back sit around we're not done oh my god what christian i don't know how much we
04:52can take today competition is very real now you just saw it casey walked out the door goes quick
05:00ethan congratulations thank you so much i have something extra for you oh jesus oh what do you
05:12got mama because you guys are gonna continue to work in houses a little longer oh what as a winning
05:20designer in the next challenge you're gonna have an opportunity to swap a designer from a house
05:30christian siriano really came in and was like let me just drop a rock into this pond think on it
05:36like heidi said new house new rules okay you'll decide at the next challenge the houses aren't over
05:45yet get ready for it bring it on i think i know what i'm gonna do things are about to get spicy
05:53like you're gonna be honest with you but i'm gonna be honest with you here we go
05:59oh ooh ooh some jump ropes
06:02oh my god please oh that pilates ring
06:06Hey, guys, guys, listen to this.
06:09Here's a gift.
06:10Put these on and meet me in the workroom.
06:13Christian.
06:14What?
06:16Let's go.
06:19That last challenge was a lot for me and Antonio.
06:23I think you are being defensive and also a little bit rude.
06:26Sorry if you hate the coat.
06:28I hate the whole look.
06:29But at the same time, Law, don't you worry.
06:31We're about to prove you so wrong.
06:33All right, everybody, let's go to the workroom.
06:38Yes.
06:39Woo!
06:40My strategy about this switch is I really want to make sure I'm
06:44making the best decision for me.
06:45So do I get rid of Jesus, the boisterous one?
06:49All I have to do is prove him wrong.
06:52Or Vijay that is hard to work with.
06:55How's it going, Diva?
06:56This one.
06:58So here's to the right choice.
07:02Here's to the right choice.
07:04I like to shake it up and keep that body working.
07:06Yes!
07:07Oh!
07:08And class begins!
07:09Okay.
07:10All right, come on.
07:11Get zen.
07:12Get comfortable.
07:12Get on your mat.
07:16I don't know any yoga poses.
07:17Does anybody know yoga poses?
07:19Okay, come show me.
07:21Yoga is not my thing.
07:23I'm the type of person that gets really bored in the gym.
07:27Bend this knee.
07:28Yes.
07:29My workout is walking to that coffee shop and then enjoy people watching.
07:34That's my workout.
07:35I think I pulled something.
07:38So you're going to continue to work in houses, Ethan.
07:42Remember, you have the power to swap a member of your house.
07:48I think I am going to do a swap.
07:50A swap.
07:51A swap.
07:52Ciao.
07:53Uh-oh.
07:54If Ethan is smart enough, he's going to keep me because he knows what I'm capable of doing
07:59and he knows I'm a strong designer.
08:01I think he should get rid of Vijay because she has not been a team player and bring over
08:06Antonio.
08:07The pressure.
08:08The pressure is getting wasaps.
08:10Yes.
08:11So I'm going to swap.
08:17Jesus with Madeline.
08:24Jesus and Madeline.
08:28Wow.
08:30You messed up, honey.
08:32I hope you don't regret your decision.
08:34I have full confidence that you're going to kill it and I really want to see this dynamic
08:38happen because y'all been claiming that y'all are a powerhouse together and I want to see
08:44it.
08:45Well, get ready.
08:46They are all talk.
08:48They run a store together, but I'd love to see this store close, baby.
08:53All right.
08:54For this challenge, each house must create a cohesive activewear capsule collection where
09:01the collection goes from workout to the weekend with one of the hottest activewear companies
09:07Kalia.
09:08To give you guys some more insight into Kalia, we have a special guest, Vice President and
09:17Head Designer for Kalia, Alicia Scott.
09:22So good to meet all of you.
09:28We created Kalia about 10 years ago and really wanted to form a brand that is the perfect
09:34juxtaposition of fashion and femininity and function.
09:38And I love how you guys have all styled all your pieces you got today.
09:41Our entire collection is rooted in performance.
09:44If you're designing a look for Pilates or run, it needs to be able to function.
09:49We believe there's beauty in the burn.
09:51How's it going to work whenever she is doing a downward dog?
09:54Make sure that when you're designing a piece, it can be used for working out, going to grab
10:00coffee, going out to grab cocktails with your friends.
10:02It needs to be versatile.
10:04So not only has Kalia provided lookbooks, they've also provided all the fabrications for the challenge.
10:11Okay.
10:12That's not all.
10:13Kalia is going to produce and sell the winning look from the winning collection.
10:20That would be so cool to have a Joseph McCray and Kalia produce.
10:25I feel like it would eat down.
10:26I love the idea of this beauty in the burn.
10:30So what if we have like fire on the runway?
10:33Ooh.
10:34Like actual fire.
10:37So you'll have all of today and part of tomorrow to create your fire-worthy collections.
10:43Don't you love a one-day challenge?
10:45Yes.
10:46One day to do this as if there weren't enough stress already.
10:50The burn of it all.
10:53Bye.
10:54Bye.
10:57Ethan, you want to see what it's like when you put Antonio and I together?
11:02It's going to be game on and it's going to push me to even do better to beat him.
11:08And then he's going to realize that he f***ed up.
11:12Girl, whatever.
11:14What's our team?
11:19Wow.
11:20Team winner.
11:22Team winner.
11:23Team winning.
11:24No.
11:25It has something to do with fire.
11:27Team burn.
11:28I guess it's final answer.
11:31I'm glad I put together a strong team.
11:33I really wanted to equalize the energy of our group by putting all of the boisterous energies on one team.
11:40I'm actually very happy that Ethan let go Jesus because I don't want another drama.
11:52That was the one that I'm using.
11:53Like, which one?
11:54Well, I can use it too.
11:57And it could be hot to do the lines in the pop-up brand.
12:01So we'll all have the lines incorporated.
12:03Yes.
12:04Okay.
12:05Okay, guys, we need to start the cutting fabrics.
12:08I just want to be cohesive.
12:10I do like this color story situation going on over here.
12:13But we got to pick a group of fabrics and all go with it, you guys.
12:16Y'all go with it.
12:17We decided to call our team the House of Lotus because we wanted to feel the vent within the berm.
12:23And so coming off the last challenge, being in the bottom, our stickler was our cohesion.
12:29So as we're going through these fabrics that Kalia provided us, we're really paying attention to what color palette we want to do so that we really nail that cohesion this time.
12:39Because if we miss it two times in a row, we're going to be done for.
12:42I love this fabric.
12:44I was trying to get the colors out of this.
12:46This has all your colors.
12:50Once again, Antonio is choosing the fabric.
12:53And I'm getting a little anxious because the last time he chose fabric, we were in the bottom.
13:00Can y'all roll the tape back?
13:01The fabric that I brought from home is in pink.
13:04So let's have the inspiration of our collection be butterflies.
13:07That's the best one out of all of them.
13:09I think we should go with that.
13:10I don't like that.
13:11No?
13:12Mm-mm.
13:13You like this better?
13:14I mean, I like this.
13:15I don't like that either.
13:16But I mean.
13:17That's what I wanted to start with.
13:18Miss Joan, I want to know.
13:19It is what it is.
13:20Oh, is the drama already beginning?
13:23You know, working with the twins, you know, they're a whole vibe.
13:26But our looks have to be cohesive.
13:29I love Miss Joan, but she's a little, little old school and stuck in the back in the days.
13:35This fabric's so cool.
13:36It's just more young.
13:37I'll make it work.
13:41Don't use the fabric scissors, you nincompoop.
13:46I love Alex.
13:47I didn't expect this competition to become so connective so quickly.
13:52And me and Alex bonded so quickly.
13:54It's so soft.
13:55It's so cozy.
13:56Like she's going to be in it.
13:57I mean, I want it.
13:58I want it.
13:59I'm making a lounge sweatsuit with a corset bustier top.
14:04It all sprouted from trying to use the aspects of a kimono.
14:09I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, but my Nana was a tailor from Nagasaki, Japan.
14:16So I find a lot of inspiration in what the Japanese call intangible cultural treasures.
14:24But my mama would say that I don't bring enough of the South with me.
14:28How are you feeling this week?
14:32Feeling great.
14:33It looks really cool.
14:34Thank you so much.
14:35I appreciate that.
14:36You are absolutely looking at the next winner of Project Runway.
14:41My design aesthetic is a combination of street wear and elegance.
14:45I want to win Project Runway for my daughter, Ava.
14:48It's right here.
14:49Having her change me as a person, it gave me so much more drive.
14:54And I do this all for her.
14:56So I have to make this stand out and hopefully wow the judges.
15:03Cool.
15:04Madeline, what informs your work?
15:06I'm trying to always like see things that I like about vintage fashion, but then giving it like my own little twist.
15:15What about yourself?
15:17I grew up in like a hoedunk farm town.
15:19I just felt inherently so different from the rest of my family.
15:23The only thing I could really do was, you know, rely on my own creativity and imagination to kind of distract me from, you know, feeling like it belonged there.
15:32Did they accept you as you are?
15:34Like, you know, when I finally did come out, they were like, we don't get it yet, but we just don't want to lose you.
15:43So we're going to try to figure this out.
15:45I feel really blessed to be able to have my family and my life.
15:50So it makes me want to really push myself to win this for them.
15:56Oh, hello.
15:59Hey, Chris Chang.
16:00Hola.
16:01How's the team going?
16:02Let's go!
16:04I do think the silhouette of this skirt you still have to figure out.
16:08Oh, Lord.
16:09This might send me home.
16:10home. I am a technical designer and I am a serious workaholic. My family is Jamaican and I've always
16:20been raised with all the elders around me doing multiple things. Even if it's not their job,
16:25they're going to figure out how to do it that day and do it. So I have to push myself because
16:30this workout weekend challenge is taking me out of my comfort zone. I really wanted to do something
16:36that was extremely comfortable. I think it feels a little too demure. I think I made the right
16:42decision. I was the one who fought to use this print because Mrs. Joan didn't like it. She still
16:48doesn't like it. Okay. So you did it again. You wanted a print again. Everybody wants this print?
16:57Groundbreaking this circle skirt. Yeah. I can cut a circle out right now and do this in 10 minutes.
17:04Really? We're kind of not the exact same look from the last challenge. You're making a jacket
17:12and a jacket and a skirt? A jacket and a skirt. Let me tell you a little something about Christian
17:18Siriano. Christian will come in the workroom like, are you sure about that? Or he be walking around
17:26like, oh, okay. That little face be killing me with them glasses and that hair perfectly swapped
17:32into the side. The top being fabulous is very important here. You should develop this more
17:37because you already know you can make a cool jacket. I'm going to listen to Christian because
17:41I know I'm taking a risk, but I do not want to be in the bottom again. You got a lot to do.
17:46I got you. Okay. Let's get it. I'm kind of going for like that modern with a little bit
17:52of Tron. This sash doesn't do anything. She couldn't do any athletic things with this hanging.
18:03What are all these lines on this? So I kind of want to achieve this kind of like texture.
18:08All of these lines you're going to weave. The inspirations for this design is the Kalia logo.
18:14It's like a twisted string. It's like very dynamic. What are you doing? It's going to be like a more
18:23like athletic, fancy corset bustier kind of thing. This makes no sense for an athletic look.
18:33That scares me. Athleisure specifically is not something that I normally do.
18:38Unfortunately, time is not on our side in this competition. Christian has his doubts about this
18:45corset, but we're sticking to our guns. Hmm. What are you doing? I am doing an oversized hoodie,
18:53which I'm thinking about cropping. I did the pin tuck in my hand. It's going to have the same
18:58pin tuck in all over the pants as well. So you're also doing a sweat. Oversized sweat.
19:05Oversized sweat pant in the same fabric. Is the pant wide like that wide? You haven't even looked at
19:12each other's stuff and she's like right in front of you. Honestly, I really don't know much about what
19:18my team is doing. This is it. Yes. Looks very similar. I haven't looked at the other designers
19:24on my team. I've just been too focused. So we just have a wide pant off on the runway in the same
19:31fabric. What the like, what am I going to do next? I need to think fast and pivot into some other
19:37different silhouette. If I don't succeed, I'm worried it might put me on the bottom.
19:41So I'm looking at team Lotus and it does not fit the brief that we got.
19:52What's going on underneath? So it's going to be the pop out. So we both have mesh.
19:55Their looks are looking a little all over the place. I think that we're going to take this one home.
20:00I look at the other team. It's like crickets in that side of the room. No one's really talking to
20:05each other. And here we are like, you know, blah, blah, blah. And then at night, she just puts a glove
20:11in, honey. Okay, this, do this. Like, we're helping each other. Yes. Yes. Ethan, I hate to tell
20:18you, but you will be the losing team. Are you ready? Let's go. Models, let's go.
20:24This very cool jacket with a pleated skirt. That's the top? I think so. So how does one do anything
20:39athletic in that top? Sean? I think I'm over here eating it up and it's just like, yeah, no.
20:48Are we playing tennis where you tie your arms up? If I don't come through with this bra, like,
20:55I feel like the whole look is going to go kaput. It's so different when I design on paper and design
21:01you. You trend's pleated skirt. It's really short. I thought it was a mistake, but it's not a mistake.
21:10Because mama, I'm a slut. You decided? Yeah, I'm going to do some nice shorts and then the cargo pockets.
21:18That shoe, are you nuts? What kind of shoe? Blah. Whoa, what?
21:24Now you're buying something. That tic-tac shoe.
21:30You have no side seam. There's no side seam. Interesting. You can do that. Look at her butt.
21:38That's crazy. These pants are styled after a Japanese hakama pant where there aren't really
21:45side seams and all of the volume is put into pleats across the back. Since we're paying homage to my
21:53Japanese ancestress, it's really important for me to nail this look that I make. And I am feeling the
22:00pressure. Bye, models. Thank you so much. Hello? Oh, I have to take this. Sorry. You're going to be laughing
22:10when that little hem falls out. I'm going to tear it up. I'm feeling really good about my look. But what
22:16if your team doesn't? But after the model fitting, I'm feeling a little worried about my team. Alex has
22:22these grand ideas, but she is running out of time. And Angelo's work is looking a little simple. If Jesus
22:29kills it, then I lost a valuable player. I hope that I made the right decision.
22:37Guys, our muses are here. Look at this. All right, designers, send your models to the Ulta Beauty
22:44Salon. We got three hours to finish up these looks and send these girls down the runway. It's crunch time.
22:52Glowy, dewy kind of thing. I love it. But maybe something that's been like smudged a little bit.
22:57That's it right there. Bye. Bye, everybody. Have fun. Until next time.
23:02Is there a leader this time? No, because I think we don't want to have a leader,
23:08technically, because we don't want to blame someone. The last team challenge,
23:12I think Jesus was acting as the leader because he talked a lot.
23:18But this time, we don't have a leader, so it's a mess. All right, five minutes,
23:23you guys. Five minutes. We're leaving this room. That's the back of the pant?
23:28Mm-hmm.
23:29Okay. Well, I know I ain't in the back. I'm worried about Alex. She's looking not finished.
23:39Child. I mean, I got what? How many minutes? I am really concerned with how the top is turning out
23:44in the cut of the pant. Are there pockets? No. No. All right. But there's no more time and
23:51nothing else to do about it. All right, designers. That's it. That's time.
24:04Hello, designers. Welcome to the runway. As you know, in fashion, one day you're in,
24:09and the next day you're out. For this challenge, we ask you to create a cohesive, active wear
24:14collection for Kalia that goes from workout to weekend. You worked in teams and you had only
24:20one day to create your collection. All right, let's meet our judges. CFDA award-winning stylist
24:26and image architect, La Roche. Editor-in-Chief of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia.
24:33And our guest judge and co-owner of the fashion line favorite daughter, Sarah Foster.
24:42I'm so excited to see Ms. Sarah Foster. She has a really good head on her shoulders around how to
24:47make a woman feel beautiful and comfortable in the clothes. She's gorgeous. Okay, we're ready.
24:51Let's start the show. It's going to be flaming hot. I wish I had a marshmallow. This got flammable hair
24:59now. Wait a minute. I told you it was going to be hot and I was not talking about Hans and Franz.
25:15I do feel like I have successfully captured the essence of this challenge with creating something
25:20that goes from workout to weekend. With the pin tucking, the silhouette, the styling is really good.
25:26I'm feeling really confident. She's a professional. I'm very proud of this look. My look looks very modern,
25:37sexy, and fun. And the red line on the jacket is everything. That is a short skirt, but she's got
25:45some good legs. Look at us now. I'm just looking at the outfit. It's not as bad as I expected it to be.
25:56But I know what's going on on the inside. It's messy. I'm not happy about it. It could have been worse.
26:07It could have also been better. I like that. I would wear that. You're very generous. Oh, no.
26:13I know. With my athleisure look, I'm feeling pretty satisfied. I like it. I think it's cute. It's nothing
26:22like really shocking. But I am just elated that the athleisure challenge is in the past. She's got it.
26:30She looks amazing. I've worked hard to achieve that details that those string woven by hand. I cut
26:42all those holes individually. It takes a lot of work to create that textile. I want to make sure
26:47that every piece that I make is a labor of love. I don't get that curly hair with that.
26:56With that side fin, it's flowing down the runway. It's got movement. Oh, it looks so good.
27:02I just got the feeling that I love it. I would wear that now. I may have slayed a little bit too
27:07hard this week. So I'm hoping that it can pull this team through to the wind.
27:11This look, it's very universal. This girl can do Pilates and then put some heels on,
27:22put a jacket on and go have a cocktail with the girl just at night. I'm proud of myself.
27:27It would mean a lot to win this challenge and have that collab with Leah.
27:36I'm happy with how this look turned out. I feel like it's me and I'm starting
27:41to be more confident in what I'm designing and believe whatever I'm creating is good.
27:50I see my look coming down the runway and I'm thinking, okay, yes. Even though I didn't choose
27:56this fabric, I was able to be a team player and I think that she looks fabulous. I love the drama.
28:05I nailed it.
28:11My model is looking so everything. And then she unzipsed this jacket and it's just like,
28:25oh, welcome to the party. Bring out the tata. I took a risk with almost recreating my previous look and I
28:32hope this paid off.
28:40That's my girl. Wow. Like I'm just literally getting chills. The way she's walking, the way that the
28:45pants are moving, how powerful she looks. I'm feeling great. I could definitely see this in stores and see
28:52a lot of people wanting these pants, wanting this bomber, even the bag. I love this. Our team, everything
28:59was executed beautifully. And I think that that showed on the runway. We did go good. We did it.
29:05I am not worried about myself, but it's hard to tell, you know, it's two different vibes. So I hope
29:11that the switch doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.
29:14Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Bravo. That was a show worthy of fire. Congrats to all of you.
29:25We have scored your designs in one house, ran circles around the other.
29:33Antonio, Joan. Yes.
29:35Josep. Jesus. And Belania. You are the winning house.
29:43What? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I don't think that's the thing.
29:51Alex, Angelo, Madeline, Eugene, BJ, and Ethan. You are our least favorite collection.
30:00Damn.
30:02We're going to talk to you later and you can leave the runway.
30:05Damn it. My squad being in the bottom, it's unfortunate. I don't know what happened.
30:14I don't get it. We just clearly took two different directions team-wise. Chips fall where they may,
30:21right? This challenge meant a lot to me. I just got in my head. I just hope that I get to stay.
30:32Congratulations. What we really liked about your collection is that there was a cohesion.
30:37Thank you so much. All right. We would like to talk to the designers that were our three favorite
30:41looks. And that is you, Josep, Belania, and you, Jesus. Thank you. So that means Joan. Yes. And Antonio.
30:52You're safe. But I do have to tell you, Antonio,
30:55we all thought that yours was our least favorite in the winning team.
31:03Thank you so much. You can leave the runway. Nice meeting you guys. Bye.
31:06My brother's in the top again for the second week. I thought my look was really good. I want to be on
31:11top. It sucks. So I am just ready to prove these judges wrong. All right, let's bring out your models.
31:17Come on, girls. Yes. What's up? How we did it? We're going to start with the designer where we
31:26didn't have to guess a whole lot who made it. And that is Josep. Without a doubt, when we saw her
31:32walk down the runway, we knew it was you. And I think she could actually work out in this because
31:36of her little shorts under. Oh, surprise, surprise. Yay. And she can throw on a pump or a heel and go
31:43straight to the weekend, which that was the challenge. Thank you so much. I would wear
31:48that jacket to the gym, but then I'd also wear it to dinner that night with a pair of jeans. I'm into
31:53you. I don't know how else I can say it. I mean, I was into all of it. I like your look too. I like
31:58her vibe. It stands out. It's memorable. To me, she's badass and flirty at the same time.
32:04Thank you, Josep. Thank you so much, everyone. All right, Belania, you're next. Oh, Lauren.
32:09I really love the work that you did on this top. I think it's really beautiful. I love all the
32:16detail that you made with the pockets, correct? And I love the fact that you considered an option.
32:24She can be reserved with the turtleneck and she can be super sexy without it. Yep. I mean,
32:30I like that fabric, as you can see. The detail of the skirt is really cool. And it's a flattering
32:37waistband. Waistbands can go very unflattering very easily. Whatever it is, I like it.
32:45All right. That leaves us with Jesus. Jesus, I have to say this. You have done something that
32:51a lot of people cannot do, and that is to shut me up. Wow. I was so tough on you on the runway,
33:00and you were in the winning group, and I was still tough on you on the runway.
33:03I actually hated her look. She doesn't look cool. She doesn't look young. I think this is so
33:08versatile. I think that a girl could really work out with this. And sellable, too. I think really
33:13sellable. Work out with it, and then wear it out on the weekend. I would wear those pants in a heartbeat.
33:18The pant turns into a straight leg pant. She could wear it like this. I mean, she could open up a little.
33:24Well done. Fabulous. Chic and effortless. What I also love is the detail. The fact that you thought
33:33about the zipper on the side. Can you turn around? And that little pocket with that little black detail.
33:41Those details all matter. Yeah. Right? Yeah. Thank you, Nina. I want to be this girl that would wear this.
33:47Thank you so much. But now is the moment of truth. They can only be one winner.
33:57And Jesus, it's you. You were our favorite look. Congratulations. Oh, he's crying. Don't be hiding
34:03those tears. I want to see them. Those are tears of joy. Yeah. Not only are you the winner. It's crazy.
34:13But that also means that Kalia will also produce and sell your look. And I'm going to buy it.
34:17Wow. Me too. I love it. Congratulations. We're all going to wear it. We're all going to wear it.
34:22Wow. Thank you guys so much. All right. You can leave the runway. Thank you. Oh my gosh. We did it.
34:28Ethan, you got rid of me, and I prove you wrong. I truly believe that if I would have stayed in his team,
34:35we would have won again. I won.
34:38When I came on Project Runway 15 years ago, I was so young. I wasn't really out of the closet
34:48at that time. And I didn't know who I was as a designer. And now coming back, I am a loud,
34:54gay, queer boy. So to win the challenge and do this collab with Kalia, it just reassured my purpose
35:00of why I'm here. To create really amazing stuff and to be on top.
35:09Unfortunately, you were our least favorite collection.
35:13Ethan, your team, you.
35:21Unfortunately, you were our least favorite collection.
35:24Ethan, your team, you.
35:30Ethan, tell us, why do you think you guys are up here?
35:33Yeah, I think it's, I think we did a great job.
35:38I think you did a great job.
35:41You had my favorite piece.
35:42I agree.
35:43So modern.
35:45Do you regret switching one person out?
35:49I, I don't want to say I shot myself in the foot because I love our team.
35:53I don't believe you.
35:56I think you knew that you had a great look and you didn't give a
35:58about the other people on the team.
36:02Damn.
36:03All right, Alex, Angelo, and BJ, you are our least favorite looks.
36:08That means Eugene, Ethan, and Madeline.
36:12You're safe.
36:12You can leave the runway.
36:19All right, BJ, let's start with you.
36:21Let's start with the positives because there is a positive here.
36:24The silhouette, I think, is nice.
36:25I like the length.
36:26I like that it's not a midi and it's not a mini.
36:28I think that's versatile.
36:30A lot of people can wear that.
36:31It's just really, that's the, that's all I liked about it.
36:33You guys like the ties dangling?
36:35I love the ties.
36:36I think it kind of looks like a tampon.
36:38I think, oh.
36:40I mean, this is, this is unwearable.
36:42I also don't understand this girl.
36:44I think the work that you've done, I think it's quite beautiful,
36:47but it doesn't scream active wear to me at all.
36:50Like, I don't get it.
36:51That's the problem.
36:51That's the problem, yeah.
36:52You needed to make this a top, a pair of black leggings, and call it a day.
37:00And you would have had a hit.
37:02This didn't need to be a cocktail dress.
37:04Out of context.
37:06All right, Angelo, let's hear about your look.
37:08Um, I designed men's street wear, so I just wanted to stay true to myself.
37:12I think where you have to be careful, Angelo, is that it felt to me a little safe and boring.
37:22You really need to bring in a sense of drama. Step it up.
37:26Listen, I'm a basic bitch, so I love sweats. I think this is cool. I like this. It's different.
37:31You know, I mean, it's not for me, but I appreciate that you added that detail on sweats.
37:36I think it's really well made. It's just, there was no showmanship to it.
37:41Yeah. You know, I think that's where you fell flat.
37:43Okay, thank you.
37:45All right, Alex, tell us about your look.
37:47So quite a few of my pieces are also inspired by kimonos.
37:51I incorporate into the way that I create different pieces.
37:54Is that part of your heritage to kimono?
37:56Yes, my grandmother was Japanese.
37:58Okay.
37:59So I go to the sauna a lot, and I love a corset.
38:03I don't care what the situation is.
38:05At the sauna?
38:06Well, obviously you're not going to wear a corset in the sauna, but post-sauna you can...
38:10But you gave her a corset.
38:12She doesn't look comfortable at all.
38:14She can't work out in this.
38:16Guys, the story has to match.
38:18You cannot piss on me and tell me it's raining.
38:21I'm sorry.
38:21Okay, well, the corset, you're right.
38:23But the pant and the sweater top, I did like.
38:26I liked the movement coming down the runway.
38:28I don't know when it was coming down.
38:29I was like, oh, it looks kind of like Laura Piano vibes.
38:31Laura Piano vibes.
38:33Come on, guys.
38:34Turn around, please.
38:35No.
38:36Do you see the seam of the pant?
38:39When she turns around, there's the puckering.
38:41Yeah, it is a struggle in the back.
38:43There's a little bit of a problem with this bib that falls from the corset.
38:48I think there's too many ideas put in.
38:50The flap in the front, the flaps down the arms.
38:51The flap on the sleeve.
38:52She's playing homage to her heritage and, you know.
38:54Yes, I love that.
38:55But I don't see that in the look at all.
38:57No.
38:59All right.
38:59There's a lot for us to talk about.
39:01You can leave the runway.
39:08Let's talk about Angelo.
39:09It is a tough competition to be in if you're that much of a minimalist.
39:13Because this is a show and you're competing with people that are going to razzle-dazzle.
39:18You have to remember you are in a competition.
39:21You have to remember that.
39:22Give us a show.
39:26Vijay's look was actually really good.
39:28I hated it.
39:29The ties were insane.
39:31I thought the dress was really well made.
39:34It was just out of context.
39:35Yes, I would buy that.
39:36It was the wrong story.
39:38The sneakers with it is for me the worst.
39:39Yeah.
39:40She has to really watch out for her styling because I don't think she's got it together.
39:46And it's, as we all know, a full polish look that has to come down.
39:50Yeah.
39:50It may not be at leisure wear, but I hope that the judges will appreciate the hard work that I put in that dress.
39:58Alex's was an eyesore.
40:00The execution was really poor.
40:02And frankly, I also thought her styling was bad.
40:05Yeah.
40:06That is a top.
40:07I could work with that, like with jeans.
40:09And I literally can't work with any of it.
40:12I do not want to be part of a judging panel where everybody gets a trophy.
40:16It was really bad.
40:18It was bad.
40:18It really was.
40:18I agree.
40:19I'm not ready to go home this early in the game.
40:22I want my daughter to see her dad give it his all to achieve the dream of becoming the next big thing in fashion.
40:30It has been so much fun.
40:32I'm so pissed though.
40:33It's disappointing knowing what you have to offer and not doing that.
40:41I just hope that I have the chance to show people what I bring to the table as a creative.
40:47Oh, God.
40:49My girl, Alex, she's in the bottom.
40:53I wonder if things would have been different if I kept Jesus and next to BJ.
40:58Maybe I should have been more of a leader.
41:01There's a part of me that's thinking that this is because of me.
41:04One mistake can send you home.
41:11Project Runway is, I know it's going to change my life for the better.
41:16I just hope that the judges will give me another chance.
41:22Next time on Project Runway.
41:24I think we're going to blow it up.
41:25Ethan and Jesus, you'll be picking your houses.
41:29I always wanted to start my own house.
41:31Each house must show that boring can be brilliant.
41:35Sofia Vergara will wear the winning look.
41:39What is all that?
41:41Fringe?
41:42Oh, Lord.
41:44Wait, you have nothing to try on.
41:45Oh, no.
41:46Ethan, your team has no clothes.
41:49It's super sexy.
41:51It was perfect for me.
41:53I'm in shock, actually.
41:55I did not come to work to look at a bunch of ugly clothes.
41:58I am pissed off.
