09:19for Kalia, Alicia Scott.

09:31and really wanted to form a brand that
09:34is the perfect juxtaposition of fashion

09:42Our entire collection is rooted in performance.
09:45If you're designing a look for Pilates or run,
09:48it needs to be able to function.
09:50We believe there's beauty in the burn.

12:36to what color palette we want to do so that we really nail that cohesion this time.

14:17So I find a lot of inspiration in what the Japanese call
14:22intangible cultural treasures.
14:25But my mama would say that I don't bring enough of the South with me.

15:07I'm trying to always see things that I like about vintage fashion,
15:13but then giving it my own little twist.

15:20I just felt inherently so different from the rest of my family.
15:23The only thing I could really do was, you know, rely on my own creativity and imagination to kind of
15:29distract me from, you know, feeling like it belonged there.

15:35Like, you know, when I finally did come out, they were like, we don't get it yet,
15:42but we just don't want to lose you.
15:43So we're going to try to figure this out.

16:18My family is Jamaican and I've always been raised with all the elders around me doing
16:23multiple things. Even if it's not their job, they're going to figure out how to do it that day and do it.
16:28So I have to push myself because this workout to weekend challenge is taking me out of my comfort zone.

24:44She has a really good head on her shoulders around how to make a woman
24:47feel beautiful and comfortable in the clothes.

27:30I'm happy with how this look turned out. I feel like it's me. And I'm starting to be more confident
27:43in what I'm designing and believe whatever I'm creating is good.

27:56fabric, I was able to be a team player. And I think that she looks fabulous.
