00:00The Australia Boomers made history after securing their third consecutive championship in the FIBA Asia Cup by defeating China 90-89 in a thrilling final.
00:09Veteran forward Xavier Cooks led the victory with 30 points and 9 rebounds, while Jalen Galloway also shined with 23 points and was later named the tournament's most valuable player MVP.
00:22In the final minute of the game, William Hickey scored the go-ahead basket that gave the Boomers the lead.
00:27China nearly snatched the win on Hu Mingzhuang's three-point attempt that missed just before the buzzer sounded.
00:34The victory paved the way for Australia to become only the second country in FIBA Asia Cup history to achieve a three-peat following China in 2003.
00:43So far, the Boomers remain undefeated in the tournament since joining in 2017, holding an 18-0 record.
00:49Meanwhile, Iran finished in third place after defeating New Zealand 79-73 in the battle for the bronze medal.
