00:00Welcome to Ms. Mojo and today we're counting down our picks for the most stunning transformations
00:10we've ever seen on A&TM.
00:1730. Carrie D. English, Cycle 7
00:21She was the winner of her cycle and for good reason too.
00:25Carrie D. English stood out among the crowd from the moment she walked into the show.
00:30Do you know who you remind me of?
00:30Who?
00:31Rebecca Romijn.
00:32Oh, thank you. Oh, gosh.
00:34I'm weird. I'm kooky. I'm everything. I'm just really high strung and just out there.
00:39From her strong personality to her instantly recognizable X-Factor, the aspiring model left a solid impression on viewers.
00:47However, she leveled up even more after her makeover from Tyra.
00:51Let the masks take control.
00:53Oh, you want wings?
00:55Oh, holla!
00:56With luscious blonde extensions styled into waves, Carrie D. transformed into a glowing goddess.
01:04Needless to say, she loved her new look and that confidence translated into her photoshoots, which eventually led her to victory.
01:12I'm America's X-A model, baby. Yeah!
01:15Number 29. Liberty Netashill, Cycle 24
01:19I was a little scared this morning because I've never changed my look, so I'm so like, it's just like a shock, I guess.
01:26It's not easy to pull off a transition as drastic as blonde to copper, so we were not surprised when Liberty expressed her dissatisfaction with Tyra's choice for her makeover.
01:36However, the supermodel definitely knew what she was doing. Liberty went from pretty girl next door to a flame-licked femme fatale.
01:45I was really hesitant when I heard that I'm going to be going red, but I'm really happy because I need to bring in a little bit more power and edge in order to step my game up in this competition, and I think that this hair definitely did that for me.
01:56Her fiery tresses complimented her skin's undertone and gave her a boost of confidence even she couldn't deny.
02:03Most importantly, the Idaho native knew how to work her new hair in front of the cameras. No wonder Tyra dubbed her a chameleon.
02:11The red has definitely brought that fire. It took you out of your comfort zone. I keep bringing that.
02:17Okay.
02:18Number 28. Nina Burns, Cycle 20
02:21The top model team creates specific looks for each of you that we think is best for your potential now and for your future careers.
02:28ANTM really took two of the most dramatic changes one can do to their hair and made a combo out of them for this makeover.
02:36Nina, who came in with blonde hair, was asked to dye it red and get bangs.
02:41Add some layers to that and you have an edgy look that's hard to top.
02:44This photo looks like a top girl working internationally, doing photo shoots in Marrakesh and Kazakhstan and Albania.
02:53While her photo shoot didn't get much attention, partly due to other contestants having even more over-the-top transformations, Nina totally owned her look.
03:03The dark and warm color brought out her unique features and gave her a strong image that just felt right.
03:09It's like you're challenging me to reconsider my own point of view week to week. I'm very impressed by it.
03:14Thank you, Kelly.
03:15Number 27. McKee Sullivan, Cycle 11
03:19McKee, our little rough girl with the red hair. She can have any hair in the world. Let's give her black short hair.
03:28Living up to a Linda Evangelista-inspired cut is no cakewalk.
03:32The pressure was real for McKee Sullivan when Tyra decided to chop her long red hair off and give her a jet black pixie cut instead.
03:40She didn't complain, and neither did we when she walked out looking like a rock star with main character energy.
03:46I think when she came in, I thought like directly, I want to have her for my show.
03:51That kind of attitude, the hair, the face. Thank you. That's good.
03:55This fresh new hairstyle made her shine, and her sharp facial structure became even more appealing.
04:01She nailed almost every challenge that came after this makeover, giving us memorable shots, and ultimately took the trophy home.
04:09Now I'm America's next top model, and from here, this isn't the end.
04:13You know, I'm going to get to keep going. I'm going to get to keep rising and keep channeling my energy into stuff, and it's just like a dream come true.
04:19Number 26. Melrose Bickerstaff, Cycle 7
04:22All right, I see these bright, big, alien-esque blue eyes, but then there's this hair that's kind of...
04:30So we are taking you to the next level, baby!
04:35Ty-Ty picked a striking blonde hair color for this model, and it did wonders for her.
04:42Melrose believed she looked better with dark hair, and was called out by J. Manuel for trying to control her image too much.
04:50Either way, she went through with the makeover, and even lightened her eyebrows.
04:54The end result was her emerging as a spunky bombshell.
04:57Melrose's new look proved versatile in subsequent photo shoots, with the platinum blonde hair allowing her to look glamorous or soft when needed.
05:13She served Naja Armin realness, as Tyra intended, and made it to the top two in the competition.
05:19I could see photograph after photograph after photograph.
05:22And considering the dress was a little too big for you, I believe, she managed to pull it through, you managed to come through.
05:27And it was so graceful, and so beautiful.
05:30You looked like you were floating, it was wonderful.
05:32Number 25, Rio Summers, Cycle 24.
05:36This makeover was so on point, that the model took her revamped look and stuck with it even after the show ended.
05:43Like, I couldn't look at anything else in the video, but your face.
05:48That mug mother is becoming legendary.
05:51Rio came on A&TM with short black hair, but Tyra wanted her to go even shorter.
05:58In addition, she determined that platinum blonde would suit her much better, and she couldn't have been more right.
06:05When Rio saw herself in the mirror, she fell in love with her own transformation.
06:09I am so in love.
06:13This is what is going to book me for years to come.
06:16To complete her bad girl look, she later got a chic eyebrow slit.
06:20Unfortunately, Summers did not make it to the finals, but there's no denying that her glow-up was iconic.
06:27We saw that you really peaked, and then you went down, down, down.
06:31Did you feel the same way?
06:33Honestly, I don't feel the same way.
06:35I got the vibe from all of you judges, but me personally, no.
06:40All I can be is proud, because I never really expected anything like this to happen to me.
06:44Number 24, Celia Amerman, Cycle 12
06:48We should have some dramatic music.
06:50Celia, the bouncing blonde.
06:53Such beautiful hair, but it gets in the way of those gorgeous cheekbones.
06:57There may have been tears involved in this makeover, but when all was said and done, it left our girl feeling great.
07:04Celia had long, blonde, albeit lifeless hair when she entered the competition.
07:09Tyra decreed that she lose the length and flaunt her cheekbones.
07:13The final short blonde look was high fashion-coated, and Celia was living for it.
07:18Oddly enough, I feel liberated, and I think that'll translate better in photo shoots.
07:23It complimented her unapologetic personality and also allowed fans to look at her in a new light.
07:29In the years that followed, Celia grew out her hair again.
07:32While we loved the ANTM makeover, we have to admit, she was made for the long hair life.
07:39I was really embodying the cover girl look today.
07:41I definitely think I could be a cover girl.
07:44Number 23, Megan Morris, Cycle 7
07:47Who knew changing the color of your pixie cut could take you from baby face to bond girl?
07:53I look like a stranger!
07:54Megan's hair was already super short, so there was hardly much scope to play around with length
08:05for her makeover.
08:07Tyra decided to switch up the color and turn her into a blondie.
08:11Jay Manuel couldn't stop gushing over how her eyes looked with this new hair, and the
08:15model herself was satisfied.
08:17It was amazing having Frederick Frickeye work on us.
08:20He cut my hair in like two minutes, and I was like, oh, it looks perfect!
08:23It's a pity that she was eliminated that week, but in her defense, she had to wear a wig
08:28for the shoot that sent her home.
08:30So she couldn't use her freshly lightened hair to her advantage.
08:33I am surprised that, like, I went this early because I thought I was going to last longer
08:37than that, but in modeling, you're not given very many opportunities.
08:42I wish I was more myself up there in front of the judges, and, you know, maybe I could
08:47have shown a little more character.
08:49Number 22, Faux Porter, Cycle 12
08:52I see all these girls getting gorgeous hair, and I'm starting to feel like the competition
08:58looks a lot better than I do.
08:59Usually, when Banks comes across models who are conventionally gorgeous, her first instinct
09:04is to give them some grit with their makeovers.
09:07That was her plan with Faux, who was a bit too cute for Tyra's liking.
09:11She not only ordered a pixie cut for her, but also added baby Banks to the mix, giving her
09:17look an editorial twist.
09:19FIFA, Faux.
09:22Oh my god!
09:23I definitely was not expecting it at all.
09:27I'm the type of person that I just need time.
09:29I feel used to it in my own skin.
09:31To viewers, this change was exactly what she needed, but Faux had a hard time coming around
09:36to it.
09:37She broke down in tears, and it got on photographer Nigel Barker's nerves.
09:41We don't blame her, though.
09:43Such a radical transformation must have been unnerving.
09:46I have to hide my hair to feel pretty.
09:50This is what's going to break me in this competition.
09:53Number 21, Erin Wagner, Cycle 13
09:56Tyra did a fantastic job reinventing this queen's look.
10:01Normally, Erin, I would say that is so vacant, it looks like a deer caught in headlights, but
10:05with your bleached brow, the bleached hair, it works.
10:08While Erin was always charming, her simple and pretty style before the makeover didn't
10:13hold a candle to her striking aura after.
10:16Banks picked ice blonde hair and bleached brows for her, which instantly drew attention to her
10:21stunning eyes, full lips, and sharp bone structure.
10:25It was a real shock to see all this platinum on my face, but I feel a lot more high fashion.
10:31The aesthetic was dramatic and fierce, but also made her appear otherworldly.
10:36It amplified her screen presence, helped her stand out effortlessly, and made her unforgettable.
10:42In other words, she fully stepped into her power as a baddie, and we loved to see it.
10:48Erin made it work, she made it look dynamic, and she looked like this magical elf in the
10:53air.
10:54Good!
10:55Oh, I love it, she's still going.
10:57Number 20, Jada Young, Cycle 7
10:59One thing that you said is, I'm the prettiest girl in school, you know, everybody says how
11:03pretty I am, but actually in this competition, you're actually the most handsome.
11:08Now that might sound like an insult, but what we're saying is it's kind of a boyish quality
11:11to your face, and that photograph's really strong.
11:14It's strange that one of the best makeovers on the show happened to one of the most controversial
11:19contestants.
11:21Jada Young endeared herself to few people when her insecurities led to an epic breakdown
11:26during her haircut.
11:28I just feel so masculine, I feel like I lost my, like, girlish thing going on.
11:32Hey!
11:34Poor Mr. J was beside himself, and Young even won an award for biggest makeover meltdown
11:39at the Fiercy Awards.
11:41But facts are facts, and Young's Halle Berry-inspired pixie cut gives her a bold, dramatic flair that
11:47is absolutely winning.
11:49Unfortunately, Young was eliminated by episode 9, but at least she went out in style.
11:55Being insecure with my hair and all that, it definitely took me a longer time than the
11:59other girls to, like, develop all those, like, characteristics that you need to be in
12:03this competition, but it's gonna work out, you know, things are gonna work out.
12:07Number 19, Alaysia Ballard, Cycle 14.
12:11Speaking of divas, Ballard was also a participant in some major drama among the contestants, including
12:17getting into a screaming match early on.
12:20Things got tense when in episode 3, Ballard was called out for wearing a swimsuit.
12:24If you went to a go-see or casting vest like this...
12:28I would say, how did she get in here?
12:29Like, how did you find out about this?
12:31But one thing that she had going for her was a strong impression.
12:35Ballard's initial look with her sweet, conventional straight hair gave way to a big-volume mane
12:41that better expressed her bold personality.
12:43She pulled that wig off at casting, and we were like, oh my god, all this hair?
12:48So we're just gonna give her some body and some curl and give her some clip-ins that she
12:51can clip in and out at photo shoots.
12:53Look at this volume.
12:55Catch the brows.
12:57Can I touch it?
12:57Yeah!
12:58I am absolutely in love with it.
13:01I love, like, how it's so bouncy and sophisticated, you know?
13:05It's a dramatic departure from her clean-cut look that works especially well.
13:09She was the first eliminated in New Zealand, unfortunately, but her look is something we
13:14won't forget in a hurry.
13:15I'm an amateur, you know what I mean?
13:17I'm an amateur.
13:18Like, I did not know anything about the fashion industry, and I made it this far.
13:21You know, so I'm happy with myself.
13:23Number 18, Brittany Markert, Cycle 13.
13:27Speaking of transformational makeovers, this math whiz proved that sometimes a change in
13:32hair color is what's needed.
13:34We're going to edge you out and make your hair darker.
13:40Don't be scared, girl.
13:42Don't be scared.
13:43Markert's stunning, romantic blonde hair was turned into a deep brown, complimented by a
13:48golden two-piece suit.
13:50She later gave an impressive performance at the scarf photo shoot, which allowed her to
13:54win Immunity, the first ever for a contestant.
13:58You really worked it.
13:59I was so impressed with you, and you can gloat and look at your gorgeous picture.
14:04Thank you so much.
14:05You're still in the running towards becoming America's next top model.
14:08Other highlights include her first call-out for the Cirque du Soleil photo shoot, along
14:13with Ray Weiss and Jennifer Ann.
14:14Margaret's streak was nothing less than impressive, and after the show, went on to sign up with
14:20a modeling agency in San Francisco before becoming a photographer herself.
14:24Millions of people all over the world suddenly had this idea of me, and I felt like my name
14:32was taken away from me, and my identity was taken away from me.
14:36So, in a way, my photography was a way for me to fight back and want to be seen for who
14:44I actually was.
14:45Number 17, Jenna Doucette, Cycle 9.
14:49You wouldn't believe this bookish bronze brunette who claimed she got along better with boys would
14:54ever go blonde.
14:55But Tyra Banks' vision reaps good fruit.
14:58Your eyes really pop out.
15:00Going through your film, you took risks, and you took chances.
15:03When are you going to be signed?
15:04Because I know you're going to be signed.
15:05I'm going to use you.
15:07Ooh, ciao!
15:09Doucette's photo modeling was continually impressive, and her makeover look wowed the
15:14judges, including Tyra Banks herself.
15:17Her makeover, going from page boy bronze to platinum blonde, is absolutely winning, complementing
15:23the model's strong features.
15:25Doucette is no sweet brunette.
15:27I feel like since I look so different that I just, like, should be different.
15:30I feel like I should just kick all your asses.
15:32Unfortunately, both Selesha Stowers and Chantel Jones attacked her for her personality, causing
15:37her to break down and get eliminated.
15:40But her makeover was still among the strongest.
15:43I felt really different while I was here, and I think that there was a lot of pressure, and
15:47I think there was a lot of me that didn't come out.
15:50That was because I was scared, and because this is hard.
15:54Number 16, Molly Sue Stinas, Cycle 6.
15:59I'm really excited about my new look.
16:01I think it's going to work really, really well.
16:03Everything is going to a very updated version of mod.
16:06Do you think you could do that?
16:07I could do that.
16:08This waitress-turned-model gave a strong turn with this metamorphosis.
16:12It's a simple trim, to be sure, from her original swept bob.
16:16But Banks' ambition of giving a model the Mia Farrow treatment in Cycle 5 was finally realized.
16:22You are like my fantasy girl right now with this short hair.
16:25Molly Sue's more severe cut complements her jawline and slender body.
16:30In the end, though, the judges thought her too stiff for a commercial and sent her home
16:34in episode 6.
16:36But her post-show life has been more successful, as she has signed up with top modeling agencies,
16:41as well as being in magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan.
16:46Now that's talent.
16:47I had to get out of my head.
16:49And I've always struggled there a little bit, but I got much better.
16:58Number 15, Shandy Sullivan, Cycle 2.
17:01This Walgreens clerk-turned-supermodel got a rough start on the show,
17:05but her makeover was definitely a winner.
17:08Her promo shows her stick thin with long, mousy hair.
17:12My name is Shandy.
17:13I work at a Walgreens.
17:15I'm a service clerk.
17:16I was never told that I was pretty or anything, that I was like this little mousy, nerdy girl.
17:20It's just been like over the past couple years that I've been like trying to wear like girly things.
17:25So her makeover into a stylish blonde who modeled as a Nicole Kidman look-alike is nothing less than extraordinary.
17:32Shandy, you look beautiful.
17:34Absolutely gorgeous.
17:36This ugly duckling transformation was the first in the show, receiving two challenge wins and getting her first call-out for the Heights photo shoot.
17:44Perhaps the transformation was too successful, however, for she calls drama when she cheated on her boyfriend with a male model in Italy.
17:52Still, she was awarded the biggest change award by Tyra Banks for her transformation.
17:56Swofford's striking blue eyes already make her one of the most stunning models on the show.
18:09Her makeover, however, made her look like an elf straight out of Lord of the Rings.
18:13Man's stood in front of us and she doesn't change her expression.
18:16I was like, okay, transformation inside and out. She's a diva now.
18:21As soon as I saw myself in the mirror, I just felt sexier and more powerful.
18:27Both her early photos and her ethereal new look impressed the judges.
18:32She made it all the way to the top three, but was eliminated in favor of Eva Pigford, the eventual winner of Cycle 3.
18:39I want to inspire people that have disabilities or, you know, shortcomings to just, like, work through it and to find joy in everything.
18:52Sadly, Swofford suffered from a degenerative eye condition, making her legally blind.
18:58But her look is by no means forgettable.
19:00And she has had success after the show, modeling in Prague and Moscow.
19:05We love to see it.
19:06Also, f*** Nigel Barker for saying that, like, no agency is going to, like, sign her for being blind.
19:13He's pissed about that.
19:15Number 13, Ioana House, Cycle 2.
19:19This Cycle 2 contestant won for good reason.
19:22You started off as the quirky, kind of weird girl.
19:27And you have transformed into this hip, stylish, gorgeous being.
19:34House's initial photos have her with shoulder-length, wavy black hair.
19:39Her makeover is a remarkable transformation into an Audrey Hepburn-esque wave.
19:43She's one of my favorite movie stars of all time.
19:46That looks great. Good.
19:48While she won the Episode 3 challenge, she also suffered a fall during the music video shoot, which almost caused her to be eliminated.
19:55She also had major beef with Camille McDonald, although they briefly became friends in Episode 8.
20:01I just really think that a lot of times Camille is a very lonely girl.
20:05I think she wants to have friends, but I think she puts a front that she's tough.
20:08Drama aside, House's strong portfolio nabbed her the ANTM crown, also making her one of the oldest winners on the show.
20:16Afterward, she became the face of the CW network in 2006.
20:22That picture speaks a thousand words.
20:24This girl is giving you face.
20:26She can have a helmet on her head and look amazing.
20:29She's just an incredible beauty.
20:31Number 12, Felicia Provost, Cycle 8.
20:35This Tyra Banks look-alike began well as a beautiful ginger with great presence and, of course, poses.
20:41Her second look, though, is even more striking, converting her into a sultry brunette.
20:47Tyra signed me bangs and a darker color.
20:52I think this is perfect.
20:53Unfortunately, early on in Episode 4, she was eliminated in favor of Dionne Walters.
20:59Fans were left scratching their heads over the decision, especially since the judges loved her photos apart from her fashion victim one.
21:06First photo shoot strong, second photo shoot strong, and then the third one was okay, and then the fourth one was the weakest picture in the bunch.
21:18And the judges start saying, is she falling apart?
21:23Can she handle the competition?
21:24Still, it's an inspired makeover, proving that bangs on the right person can really complete their look.
21:31Provost went on to sign on to the elite model management in Chicago, although she is now retired in Hong Kong.
21:38I am definitely going to keep modeling.
21:40That's just something I have to keep doing, no matter what happened here.
21:45Nothing at all is going to keep me from following my dream.
21:48Number 11, Alison Harvard, Cycle 12.
21:51People always comment on your eyes.
21:53Either they say I look like a scary doll, or like a porcelain doll.
21:56You say the bride of Chucky.
21:57Yeah.
21:57Creepy Chan is far from creepy.
22:00Although given the moniker by 4chan users, Harvard quickly became a fan favorite.
22:06She entered the competition blending in with a flat brown lob.
22:10So it was great to see her transformed with new platinum blonde waves that lit up her face and emphasized her big blue eyes.
22:17Oh my god.
22:18I feel like a mermaid.
22:20Mermaids?
22:21Yeah.
22:21Okay, it's America's Next Top Mermaid.
22:23I've always wanted long hair.
22:25It's fantastic.
22:26I love it.
22:27Harvard had a strong run across the season, especially in its later episodes.
22:32Sadly though, the judges felt she lacked variety in her facial expressions, and she ultimately came in seconds behind Tiana Anderson.
22:41Harvard did return to the show in Cycle 17, which pleased her fans.
22:44In Crete, there she was, you know, just this extraordinary photograph of her.
22:48Shot by Nigel.
22:49I was on the set of the music video that Game was directing.
22:52He fell in love with her.
22:54Those eyes, oh my goodness, just stunning.
22:57So unique.
22:57It's almost Alice in Wonderland.
22:59This finalist's makeover was a study in the art of subtlety.
23:07We're gonna do a little bit more blonde on you and make you a little bit more icy.
23:11The color and extra volume complimented Dodds' strong jawline, and when combined with her natural talent in front of the camera, the end result packed quite a punch.
23:21I think it looks very high fashion.
23:23Your shoulders are wonderful.
23:24The judges praised her photos, and Banks even commented that Dodds could not take a bad picture.
23:31They took issue with her personal presence, though, especially compared to her competitors.
23:36In the end, Dodds was runner-up to Danielle Evans.
23:39Dodds went on to model for GQ, among other magazines, so it's no great loss.
23:44I would have been so happy if it was me, but I'm okay.
23:49Number 9.
23:51Whitney Thompson, Cycle 10.
23:53This finalist became the winner of her cycle for very good reason.
23:58For one thing, her makeover was sensational.
24:01Sexy, curvy girl makes sexy, curvy, long, thick hair.
24:05So Whitney's getting a wee.
24:07Beginning with thick, dark hair and a 2000s high-waisted top, Thompson became a glamorous blonde with a bold presence.
24:14Despite a rough start, with the judges deeming her too fake,
24:18Thompson soon proved herself by winning three challenges and receiving her first call-out during the music-themed photo shoot.
24:25Mr. J said that you came to the set and knocked it out of the box, and you really embraced the genre and took risks that worked.
24:32And this is a risk.
24:33Thompson also got recognition for being the only plus-size model to win the competition.
24:37The modeling industry may be cruel to plus-sized models, but occasionally, justice is served.
24:43I honestly think the girls will look up to me and say, I could do that, you know?
24:48I could be that.
24:50I don't have to, you know, starve.
24:52I don't have to have plastic surgery.
24:53I could really be like that.
24:55I could be on that billboard.
24:56I could be on that magazine cover.
24:57Why?
24:58Because I'm beautiful.
24:59Number 8.
25:00Corinne Wytel, Cycle 5.
25:02Competing at just 19 years old, this contestant had a rough home life.
25:07But talent is talent, and Wytel's transformation on the show is remarkable.
25:12When you feel strong, you don't hold anything back.
25:14What's my secret?
25:16I'm afraid of heights.
25:17Praise the Lord, Jesus.
25:18I believe the last one.
25:19You are so lucky.
25:21She began as a flat-haired, dark brunette with a breezy look.
25:24Her makeover lengthened her hair and gave it more volume.
25:28And of course, in typical Banks style, Wytel got blonde hair, which complemented her skin tone.
25:33I never would have thought blonde at all.
25:36But overall, I like my makeover.
25:41The brighter tone definitely helped her stand out.
25:44Unfortunately, her pictures didn't match the new vibe, and Wytel was eliminated in episode 6,
25:50with judges deeming her performance too gloomy.
25:53Her rivalry with Lisa Diomato didn't help matters either.
25:57But when she served, she served.
25:59That's beautiful.
26:00You know, you look a little bit like Ty Banks to me.
26:03Yes!
26:04Number 7, Bianca Golden, Cycle 9.
26:08This Golden girl deserved better.
26:10Not for her clashes and endless drama with the other contestants, of course.
26:14But Golden did luck out in one key way.
26:17Her makeover was a success with fans, going from cherry red hair to a buzz cut that gave
26:22her features unexpected softness and dimension.
26:25However, with the shaved head, she's one of the strongest-looking girls in the bunch.
26:29Thank God her makeover went wrong.
26:31That was the best thing that could have happened to her, because she's stunning.
26:34And to think she was initially going to receive blonde extensions.
26:38Golden's hair was already too damaged, however, which landed her with this cut.
26:42Although she received several call-outs, she was eventually eliminated in the penultimate
26:47episode.
26:49Still, Golden returned for the Tyra Banks show, and even modeled for Chris March on Project
26:54Runway.
26:54Yes, I did Fashion Week, and I'm getting back into it.
26:57My agency has been, like, so supportive.
26:59A volleyball and soccer blonde, Potter began the cycle strong, receiving her first call-out
27:08for her natural disasters shot and winning two challenges.
27:12No doubt her makeover played some part in her performance.
27:15Samantha, looks like any girl walking in a mall with plastic earrings on.
27:20We've got to make her more high-fashion.
27:23Elevate.
27:23Elevate, darling, with short hair.
27:25Her promo photos show her as a striking but typical long-haired blonde with a svelte body.
27:31Simply cutting her hair short, however, utterly transformed her look for good.
27:36Oh, my God!
27:37I know that I look really, really fierce.
27:40I don't feel like girly girl Sam.
27:43I feel like a model.
27:47The modish pixie cut accentuated her features and gave them a unique cast that is no less than
27:53memorable.
27:53It's a remarkable transformation.
27:56Sure enough, Potter lasted all the way up until the finale, in which she lost to McKay Sullivan.
28:01This whole competition has truly brought out a different side of me.
28:06To tell you the truth, you know, I never saw myself as being, like, a pretty girl.
28:12I don't ever see myself as a pretty girl.
28:17No, I do.
28:18Number 5.
28:19Narelle Van Herc, Cycle 3.
28:21You feel like working it, don't you?
28:23They're lovely, your teeth.
28:24Today you look like a model.
28:26No, I think your makeup is fabulous.
28:28Van Herc made it work.
28:30This contestant began with long, dark hair and braces.
28:34Her dramatic makeover removed the wires, deepened her hair color, and crafted into a shaggy bob,
28:40bringing out her brilliant green eyes and delicate features.
28:43What a success!
28:44I feel better now about the competition, about, like, how I look.
28:48Hooray!
28:50Wow, look how pretty!
28:52Don't I look so much better?
28:53Van Herc also won the first challenge of her makeover episode.
28:57Unfortunately, the judges were not as impressed with her photos across the season.
29:02The secretary look is not working for me.
29:03No, not at all.
29:05That works.
29:05It's gorgeous.
29:07That works.
29:07It's almost as if you have to be dressed up in costume to become fierce.
29:10Between an inconsistent portfolio and Van Herc's struggle navigating Japanese culture,
29:16she would get the axe in episode 11.
29:19Still, she went on to become a successful model in Japan and even signed on to two modeling
29:24companies.
29:25You go, girl!
29:26I'm not giving up, like, I'm not doing this and I'm not crying because, like, I'm sad
29:30or anything.
29:31Like, I will be a model.
29:32I will be America's next top model.
29:34I'm okay.
29:35Number 4.
29:36Kayla Farrell, Cycle 15
29:38One of the few openly LGBTQ plus models, Farrell's start on Cycle 15 was a little uneven,
29:46placing 12th and 2nd in the first two photoshoots respectively.
29:50She entered the competition with a pile of icy blonde curls that the judges couldn't quite
29:55see past.
29:56I can't see past it.
29:57I'm going to send you out.
29:58I want you to wet your hair and comb it out.
29:59Oh, thank you.
30:00Go on.
30:01You'll come back.
30:02Though a straightened look was an instant improvement, her makeover guaranteed she would
30:07turn heads going forward.
30:09Farrell would receive bangs in a shorter length, as well as a new flaming red color that suited
30:14her beautifully.
30:15Despite some striking pictures, she was eliminated in episode 11, as the judges thought she had
30:21not mastered her facial angles quite yet.
30:23But she returned to all-stars for Cycle 17 and even did a stint of modeling in Japan before
30:30retiring.
30:31Her ANTM makeover in this cycle is still fascinating.
30:34This is what's going to take you to the next level.
30:37I don't understand why people cry.
30:38I don't understand why people get upset.
30:40Oh, yes.
30:41I like already.
30:43Number three, Brittany Klein, Cycle 16.
30:46From the very beginning, this Pennsylvanian model shone with her photos impressing the judges.
30:52If Klein's first look was sleek and smoky, her makeover look gave her a Cleopatra-style look
30:57that was absolutely winning.
30:59Yes, working the angle of that hair all the time.
31:02Gorgeous.
31:03Like, I definitely don't feel like myself anymore.
31:05I'm a whole new person.
31:07There were some hiccups with judges disliking her Fierce Roast Coffee commercial and her
31:12clashes with fellow contestants, particularly Alexandria Everett.
31:16She finally competed against Molly O'Connell in the final two.
31:20I'm surprised I'm here.
31:22Oh my gosh, looking so good.
31:26Never would I have been like, I'm going to be a top two on America's Next Top Model.
31:30Coming from a trailer park, who would think it's such a crazy thing?
31:32Although Banks had wanted to eliminate her early on, most of the judges were in favor
31:37of Klein.
31:38She eventually won due to her CoverGirl commercial and print ad.
31:42This girl is a winner, all right.
31:43It doesn't matter where you're from or how you're raised or what you have to go through.
31:48You can do whatever you want if you just put your mind to it.
31:51I was really close to giving up and it just proves don't ever do that because right whenever
31:54you're about to give up, something great really, really happened.
31:57Number two, Naima Mora, Cycle Four.
32:01This winner from Michigan came out with a very striking makeover and an overall strong modeling
32:06performance.
32:07She was so amazing.
32:10I still have chills just thinking about it.
32:11It's quite evident in the show that Naima ruled the show.
32:14She has stage presence.
32:15Mora began the competition already a little edgy with her dark mohawk.
32:20But add a lighter color and a little product and she popped more than anyone would have
32:25believed as the makeover both defined and softened her features.
32:29I would have probably chosen a really, really light color or a really, really dark color.
32:34But this spot in between is perfect.
32:37I love it.
32:39Throughout the season, Mora won every one of the CoverGirl of the Week titles, got two
32:44first callouts, and won over Kenya Hill and Kaylin Rondo in the CoverGirl commercial portion
32:49of the finale.
32:51In the final runway, she bested everyone and became the official winner of the cycle.
32:56What a show.
32:57Uniquely versatile, undeniably edgy, Naima, the spunky Detroit girl embodies a true CoverGirl.
33:04I am a CoverGirl.

33:22Number 1.
33:23Fatima Saeed, Cycle 10
33:25This Somalian-American contestant's tragic life and modeling talent is the stuff of legend.
33:32Debuting with a unique blonde curly texture, Saeed was fitted with beautiful silky black
33:38hair extensions that made her look no less than stunning.
33:40When I first saw my new look, I thought it was beautiful.
33:43I really liked it.
33:44I felt like it really brought up my East Africanness.
33:49There were major hiccups, of course, with Saeed struggling to take direction and missing
33:54an overseas photo shoot due to lost travel documents.
33:58Sadly, she was eliminated just before the final runway show, despite a strong portfolio.
34:03Your face is absolutely stunning, but modeling is so much more than just being beautiful.
34:10It's about listening to a photographer or a director's vision and delivering that message.
34:18Saeed eventually went on to a successful career, signing up with modeling agencies in
34:23New York City and Los Angeles.
34:25To this day, we all wonder what could have been had Saeed won.
34:29Hopefully, I'll be a role model for a lot of young women, especially East African women.
34:32They can look at me and say, wow, look at her.
34:34She went out there.
34:35She did her thing.
34:36Which A&T makeover do you think is the most overrated?
34:40Tell us in the comments section.
34:41As I've gotten older, I've learned that not everybody's going to like me.
34:45This is true.
34:45And I'm not going to like everybody either.
34:47Oh my God.
34:49Wow.
34:50Wow.
