00:01:49balls hit well by harding but right to choosy for the out and one away
00:01:53so pirates pitching is retired the last six batters after we had an error a walk and a single

00:02:11it's a foul ball and it's caught what a running catch by the left fielder let's double check who that is
00:02:18whether it's still mid kiff she started the game and uh in left field but she's getting congratulated

00:05:34players switching positions during the game
00:05:37and it really i guess really doesn't have an effect on what the score is i mean we got a
00:05:41scoreless duel and catalano is uh pitching very well to say the least because she retired
00:05:48all six batters that she faced but now we'll see what harding can do but um you know maybe in some
00:05:56other circumstance uh catalana would still been pitching because she retired the first six she had
00:06:01a perfect game going but perfection not required it's experience so harding is in and in fact uh
00:06:09harding was actually the starting catcher so you go from catcher to the pitcher circle
00:06:14all right there's a ground ball past harding it'll be a base hit for the leadoff hitter that is aurora
00:06:20midkiff so she is on and that is the first base runner for the pirates because again catalana retired the
00:06:26first six of the game and uh midkiff breaks up the perfect game and the no hitter in just one
00:06:34circumstance and speaking of no hitters uh blake snell threw one last night for the san francisco giants
00:06:41pitches in for a ball or no a strike rather and it's strike one on savannah babillon i'll tell you that is
00:06:49quite a story with blake snell who's really suffered through injuries the last couple of years
00:06:54and he pitches his first career no hitter this one is ripped fouled on the left field line but not only
00:07:01that blake snell did not even have a complete game in the major leagues and evidently never even went
00:07:10eight innings in a previous game so the tops that he had was seven innings his career high pitching wise
00:07:17as far as number of innings and what does he do he spins a no hitter against the reds
00:07:24pitches inside for a ball i'll tell you just the funny quirks of baseball you pitch a no hitter
00:07:29and it's your first complete game and it's your first complete game shutout of your career so
00:07:36bravo for uh blake snell pitch on the way is outside for a ball two and two and you know snell is kind of
00:07:42being dangled as a possible trade bait the giants feel well it's still kind of in it so we'll hold on
00:07:49to blake snell and well good thing they did they get a no hitter and they beat the reds
00:07:54anyway two and two the count on babillon this one is lifted out in the left center field that'll
00:08:00fall for a base hit it'll be station to station running goes from first to second that being midkiff
00:08:05and babillon has a single so again after the first six batters for the pirates who retired we have
00:08:12back-to-back singles by midkiff and babillon here in the second and the pirates trying to break this
00:08:18scoreless stool we are scoreless here in the bob the third and they'll bring up lisa choosy who started
00:08:23in the circle but now she's playing first base and that is a uh that is a pass ball i'd have to call
00:08:29you know what i'll call it a wild pitch actually that is a wild pitch by harding that moves midkiff
00:08:36up to third and babillon up to seconds now the runners aren't scoring position second and third
00:08:42and nobody out and choosy with a chance to pick up a couple of orbi's the ball sliced foul oh just missed
00:08:48the light standard just missed the pole over to the left so one ball and one strike the count on lisa choosy
00:08:57elena black in the on-deck circle so again we got midkiff on third and babillon on second with nobody
00:09:04out one ball one strike outside for a ball oh by the way we have a left-handed catcher let's see who is
00:09:13that left-handed catcher uh

00:09:33so again a left-handed catcher in the aim can't read the number with all the equipment on
00:09:43and the pitch there's a ground ball hit past the pitcher that's going to score ron goes to the
00:09:47shortstop throw to first is not in time so that'll be an infield hit for lisa choosy scoring midkiff from
00:09:55third and sending fabillon to third base didn't hit it very hard but got it past the pitcher as uh
00:10:03harding was not able to get the glove down in time so infield hit for choosy and orbi and
00:10:09the pirates able to break the seal in this ball game as they take a one to nothing lead and we're
00:10:14gonna have a uh someone in the circles the um head coach for the bears comes out and they're gonna have
00:10:20a little strategic conference and we'll have the strategic conference for the pirates who are up
00:10:25over on the third base side to talk some strategy here
00:10:36so again after the first six batters for the pirates retired over the course of the first
00:10:40two innings they have had single single single to start the third inning and uh we're gonna have
00:10:46a pitching change let's see who's coming in here it is number three rowan landis so landis the new pitcher
00:11:02so the bears started with catalano they went with harding and now they go to landis
00:11:07it'd be a pretty good law firm catalano harding and landis your law firm ready to serve the public
00:11:17so landis throwing in her warmer pitches the sun getting a little bit stronger there are a lot
00:11:21of clouds overhead again the previous game we had uh had a 15 minute rain delay it rained pretty hard
00:11:28then it let off and uh lightning had nothing to do with the delay i was confirmed upon just a heavy
00:11:33rainstorm and they played through it for a couple of minutes and then the umpires uh decided to call
00:11:39it but it was only about a 15 minute delay and then we got back in action since then
00:11:44no further rain but again we got clouds surrounding us again possibly part of that
00:11:49tropical depression that's being reported coming from the dominican republic so
00:11:55here at the usssalive.com at the space coast complex in the fast pitch stadium we're gonna have
00:12:01two more games coming up so hopefully they won't be interrupted by the weather the weather
00:12:05here's elena black to face landis the pitch is in for a called strike and we got a steal of second
00:12:13as waltzing into second was choosy they didn't really pay any attention to her
00:12:19so she's still second there's still nobody out runners are at second and third the pitch is a wild
00:12:25pitch here comes the runner trying to score she'll be safe and there now the ball gets away it's the
00:12:3162 bats throw to the plate is not in time so two run score on the wild pitch i'll tell you a good
00:12:38throw would have gotten the lead runner babillon but the throw was too high babillon scored and the
00:12:44throw is a little bit wild got past the pitcher and then choosy comes in to score so you don't see that
00:12:52too often two runs scoring on a wild pitch but babillon and choosy score and it's now three nothing
00:12:59in favor of the pirates and still nobody out nobody on base pitch is a wild pitch past the catcher
00:13:07you know i'll tell you in a game like this where maybe runs are at a premium you hate to give away
00:13:11runs on errors wild pitches and mental mistakes that was simply a wild pitch that uh cost the bears two
00:13:21runs pitching for a called strike and it's a two and two
00:13:28want to make the other team earn it those are unearned runs
00:13:35good action in the dirt again uh gets by the catcher
00:13:43come on battle kid battle
00:13:45so again a left-handed catcher you do see that from time to time and
00:13:49youth baseball and softball
00:13:53pitch in the dirt and it's ball four and the inning continues with nobody out as black
00:13:58reaches on the walk
00:14:03that's the one thing we have not seen in major league baseball i never recall seeing a left-handed
00:14:08catcher and really if you're left-handed you could only really play four positions you could play first
00:14:15space or you could play any of the outfield positions you really can't play any of the other
00:14:18infield positions and of course you can pitch swung on and missed and throw down to second will be
00:14:25in the air too long and it's a easy steal for black
00:14:28so runner on second and nobody out
00:14:36again we're about halfway through the game three nothing for the pirates here in the bottom of the
00:14:40third so after a scoreless duel for two innings the pirates able to break through here in the home
00:14:45half of the third inning pitch missed for a ball and it's one ball and one strike on emily jones
00:14:51the shortstop nice simple name emily jones sounds like a famous actress i'm thinking about shirley
00:14:57jones from the partridge family she is still alive by the way i think she's 90. shirley jones
00:15:04mrs partridge all right the home plate umpire and the um coach for the pirates having a seems like
00:15:13a diplomatic discussion not quite sure what it's about that seemed like a normal play but we've had
00:15:19a bunch of discussions today and whatever it was has been cleared up and jones will resume her time
00:15:26at the plate with a one ball and one strike count outfield very shallow as is the infield
00:15:34and landis with the pitch it's gets by the catcher i don't really think that ball should have been
00:15:39caught i'm gonna charge a pass ball there
00:15:46so runner to third is black so she is on first and there's still nobody out this has been a long
00:15:52bob the third inning both run wise and the lack of outs
00:15:58so the bears trying to uh keep this at a
00:16:00three run deficit but the wild pitches of this inning are not helping
00:16:09and the pitch is fouled off over the right and back on the field of play it'll be a strike two
00:16:13count two balls and two strikes on emily jones she is the number 11 hitter the pirates are batting 11
00:16:20so we'll flip the batting order here in a moment bears are batting 12 in their batting order in fact
00:16:25they'll have the leadoff hitter peterson leading off in the top of the fourth inning
00:16:31it's a runner at third nobody out infield in looking for a possible play at the plate the 2-2
00:16:36is hit right back up the middle that'll score the run and they'll go into center field
00:16:40for the base hit so it went under the glove of landis and under the glove of bomb at short and made it
00:16:46into shallow center field orbi single by jones scoring black and it's now a four run bob the third
00:16:53inning for the pirates as they lead it four to nothing
00:16:59back to the top of the batting order uh violet jessen who just recently came in the pitch
00:17:05and they got the runner between first and second throw to second is safe at second she beat it so
00:17:11she was picked off she just continued to keep running the second rather than getting the run down and
00:17:16uh jones makes it anyway so we'll simply give her a steal so she's on second and again there's still nobody out
00:17:29pitch in for a called strike so we had three consecutive singles by midkiff babillon and choosy to start the
00:17:36inning and then a walk to black and rbi singled by jones and now jessen is a violet jessen and this one
00:17:44gets by the catcher boy it's becoming an ugly inning for the uh bears defensively the third goes jones
00:17:51so one ball two strikes on violet jessen she is the sixth batter to bat here in the bottom of the third
00:18:05and it pitches high gets by the catcher and here comes another one oh my goodness so scoring is jones
00:18:13it's now a five run bob the third inning and a five nothing lead
00:18:17for the pirates the count is two and two on jessen
00:18:28so nobody on base and nobody out
00:18:32and the pitch is high for a ball and the count goes full three balls

00:20:39which is very high for a ball but i tell you it's really something gathering in the left-handed catcher
00:20:45yeah again i don't think we've seen that in major league baseball in all its history a left-handed
00:20:51catcher i i think it could work
00:20:56i mean a left-handed throwing shortstop probably wouldn't work but left-handed catcher i mean
00:21:02you could throw to any of the bases just as well as i think of a right-handed catcher
00:21:09but when you talk about the left side of the infield shortstop at third it really is a disadvantage to
00:21:13have a left-handed thrower and that's why nobody left-handed ever plays a shorter third or second
00:21:21and the pitch is on the outside corner and for a strike three and one on thompson
00:21:30so again two outs of nobody on here at the bottom of the third it's a five run bomb the third inning
00:21:35and the pirates have exploded for the five nothing lead after a scoreless after two and a half there's
00:21:40a ground ball at the second picked up thrown to first in time in the inning is over so we had five
00:21:46consecutive batters reach base and then three consecutive who made outs but a big inning for
00:21:53the pirates as they send eight batters to the plate they score five runs on four hits a walk and nobody
00:22:02left on base so we played three innings it is five nothing in favor of the pirates and we'll be right back

00:25:12and a pitch in for a ball it's a ball one on maddie mcmurray so i think her formal name is madison but
00:25:20sometimes madisons like going by maddie so we'll go with maddie
00:25:26pitch is high for a ball that'll run the count two and oh on mcmurray again brooklyn catalano is on deck

00:25:49for the bears and so does jalen secor and we got two 99s in the lineup wow

00:28:35worst part of that tropical depression to come in tomorrow which is good uh i'm not sure if there's
00:28:39any action out here tomorrow if there is the the weather certainly could play a factor
00:28:48so the um pirates with a five nothing lead as they come up in the
00:28:52bottom of the fourth inning again they had a five run third breaking a scoreless tie open
00:28:58four five and six in the batting order emily laschewski alexis swinem and natalie chice and the pitch is
00:29:04inside for a ball ball one to laschewski who plays first base she flew out the left field in the second inning
00:29:11and they brought out a uh a new rosin bag for the pitcher she lays it down on the uh in the dirt

00:38:13one thing that i always look for is the grip and how good it is another thing too is how big the
00:38:24sweet spot is just knowing like even if i do get jammed if i have a big enough sweet spot i could
00:38:28still possibly get away with something the mantra sweet spot will give people that extra umph that

00:39:50and that'll bring up shelby fry who started the game at center and i think she's still out there
00:39:54she struck out swinging back in the first inning
00:39:58so 12 straight batters have been retired
00:40:05by the pirates pitching ball fouled off and out of play again it's been a combination of pitchers
00:40:10as a choosky start off jesson is still in the game so jesson in long relief
00:40:18of choosy i think this is their third inning
00:40:22pitch on the way is hit right back up the middle and it gets by the diving shortstop base it
00:40:27with one out by fry
00:40:36so that breaks up the 12 in a row that was set down
00:40:39by pirates pitching fry able to break that up and get a base hit and that's only the second hit
00:40:45for the bears catalano singled in the first inning and now fry gets a single here in the fifth and
00:40:51there's a wild pitch high off both the screen and fry will move up to a second base
00:40:57so the bears have had only four base runners single by catalano single by fry walked to mcmurray
00:41:08reached on an error peterson and trying to bunt it's in for a called strike i i don't know why you're
00:41:16bunning when you're down by five i mean i guess you're trying to bunt for a base hit okay
00:41:20now that has to be the case you cannot give up outs here when you're down by five

00:41:30and third baseman are charging swung out of this throw to third as we have another wild pitch and

00:45:50five nothing so black takes a pitch in for a ball two balls and no strikes black walked back in the
00:45:56third and that was in the middle of that five run outburst in the third inning
00:46:02pitch on the way is high for a ball again you know you know baseball and softball are funny games so i mean
00:46:07all the scoring by the pirates came in the third inning the bears have not scored i mean you take
00:46:13away that third inning and it's really been a pretty pretty even game but you can't do that the beginning
00:46:19being the best friend for the pirates today all right walking is black
00:46:24and they'll bring up emily jones the shortstop
00:46:37that is the fourth time that the pirates have walked in this game jones had an orbi single during
00:46:44that five run third she now uh is up with the dish and the pitch is a strike throw to second lollipop throw
00:46:53to second boy they almost got her that's kind of a lollipop flow looked like the volley floater from
00:46:59steve hamilton of the yankees in 1972 very close play but uh stealing second is uh black
00:47:11the coach i guess wants some sort of an explanation by the uh umpire oh now the umpires are gonna meet
00:47:17so we'll have a bit of a delay i think the coach said hey can you check with your partner on that
00:47:23last play i think she made it but we'll see again there's no replay out here but uh umpires are
00:47:30allowed to uh confer if the coach asked them to oh they're gonna go to the replay there is some sort
00:47:37of replay out here then i don't know well again you got the big scoreboard out here our people in the

00:47:54you know again we we have uncertain weather out here and you don't really want to spend a lot of time

00:48:15later in the day we had a rain delay the previous game just 15 minutes though no lightning involved and
00:48:22so we kind of lucked out on that but uh again this tropical depression coming in it's going to be a
00:48:27rainy weekend in florida i think the again evidently the worst of it is going to come tomorrow so if
00:48:34you're planning on a sunday picnic in brevard county you're probably going to be very disappointed best
00:48:41to do an indoor picnic so again we got a delay here the umpires are conferring
00:48:49you know again it looked like the base runner black made it easily to second
00:48:57well again defensively the um

00:49:05bears are having a summit in the circle

00:49:25the first game that literally took five minutes they're trying to decide on whether to overturn
00:49:30a play and they ended up not overturning it so we we just kind of wasted five minutes

00:50:33two jesson trying to get a bunt down puts it high in the air and it's going to be a base hit
00:50:39that's one of the highest base hits you'll ever seen the ball was bunted
00:50:43not very high in the air but it could have been caught was not it just came down and it's a
00:50:49infield bunt base hit by jessen and the runners move up and its base is loaded and nobody out
00:50:55here's michaela jackson the right fielder she flew out to right in the first inning she struck out
00:51:15swinging in the third it's a ball one count on jackson the pitch is in for a ball and it's two

00:51:31so the pirates already up five nothing trying to score in another inning other than the third

00:52:29looking very bleak for the bears and there's another wild pitch and the run scores and the ball gets

00:52:51is jackson so second and third and still nobody out two runs in seven nothing it's a touchdown

00:53:13uh time limit might be coming a factor here and maybe the run rule as well there's a ground
00:53:20ball hit to third throw to first is in time i'm kind of surprised the uh third baseman could have
00:53:27backtracked and uh stepped on third but did not do so so thompson has a orbi ground out as the run
00:53:36scored scoring uh was jessen and it's now eight to nothing moving up to third

00:53:56leschewski she is flying out the left field and she is walked so again runner on third one out the pitch

00:56:43in the circle so the bears really the only doubt in this game is can they score they're down nine to
00:56:52nothing it's going to be really hard obviously to come back and win the game emery bryan will try and
00:56:58get things going she uh started the game at second base she grounded out the short in the second the
00:57:03pitch is a fly ball center field and angling over and making the catch looking very smooth and calm and
00:57:10cool is natalie chice with the play one away
00:57:18and now hannah bomb will bat again the spelling b-a-u-m on the last name bomb
00:57:26ground it out the third back in the second
00:57:40taking her time in the circles choosy and now she delivers the pitch it's high for a ball ball one

00:58:30holds it very high behind her helmet the 3-0 she shows bunt and she takes it in for a called strike
00:58:37and it's three and one so again one out nobody on so the bears are down to their final two outs of
00:58:45this one again this is a semi-final game so the pirates look like they're going to win and they'll
00:58:50advance to the championship there's a chopper hit the third hot potato gets the sour cream out and
00:58:56that ought to be an error
00:58:58that's elena black as she tried to field it and it kind of popped out of her glove and not able to
00:59:06make the play
00:59:11so bomb reaches on the one out error here's marie harding harding popped up to first back in the
00:59:17third inning the pitch is swung on a miss attempted to steal second and she will make it that being bomb
00:59:28so again the bears trying to get on the scoreboard they have another opportunity here with a runner

01:02:34out in the field but okay now the teams are going to line up and shake hands so uh the bears at least
01:02:39get on the scoreboard but uh this game dominated by the pirates they win it by nine to one as you
