00:00I'd like to start... anybody? Dom?
00:03Is that Dom?
00:04Hi Oliver, you must have felt that your team has played really well today and deserves a draw.
00:09Yes, absolutely. So I'm very pleased with the performance today for most of the time.
00:15I think just at the end we lost the ball too quickly and gave them two, three chances.
00:19But defensive work was excellent. Players did a great job.
00:27We scored but it was disallowed.
00:30We created two, three, four chances but we didn't score so that's why we take this point.
00:36It was a very good performance and a very good start into the season.
00:40I'm always talking about progress.
00:42Last year we had a disallowed free kick at Brentford and we lost.
00:45This year we had a disallowed free kick and we drew, so the first step is the right one.
00:49It was a bit like that. What did you make of that decision to disallow that goal?
00:53Honestly, I haven't seen the free kick but we know the rule that you have to be one yard away from the wall.
00:59I think at the beginning we were. Maybe we stepped too early or maybe we made this step too early
01:06because you have to wait until the kicker kicks the ball.
01:11If this was the case then maybe it's right but I think it's tricky because many teams are acting like this.
01:23But for us it's now okay finding solutions, adjusting.
01:26It was a great free kick of Epps, a great goal but unfortunately it didn't count.
01:33Can I ask you about the decision to pick him in the first place?
01:37Eberici has a decision to pick him because there were reports that he wasn't going to be available before the match
01:43and then he became available again. Can you explain how he was picked?
01:47He was picked because he's a Crystal Palace player and he's a very good Crystal Palace player.
01:51He trained the whole week so there was no reason not to pick him.
01:56Can I just ask about the sort of stability of the team?
02:00Is that hard when you get into these games?
02:03I think the players are giving the answer week by week.
02:06It was last week against the Community Shield, winning against Liverpool on penalties
02:09and then starting here against the club world champion.
02:12It just shows that this group is such a great group of characters
02:20and we have no influence on all the noise and all the rumours around us
02:24but we know what we want to do, we know how we want to play
02:27and this is what we want to show every single game.
02:29The players did great today and I think they showed,
02:34and I can tell you whatever I want,
02:36but they showed that everybody is 100 per cent committed with Crystal Palace.
02:40Otherwise it's impossible to draw here against a very good Chelsea side.
02:45You said in an interview before just now that you expect him to play on Thursday Eze.
02:52Is that something you've discussed with the club having him for that game before any deal is shown?
02:57No, you know, you are just talking about rumours.
03:05Every Chelsea, as much as I know, has a contract with Crystal Palace,
03:09he's a Crystal Palace player.
03:11He showed it today and as long as he's a Crystal Palace player
03:16and performs like this he will play for us.
03:18And nobody told me something else.
03:20And just on the free kick, does it feel like another situation for Crystal Palace
03:23where you're being punished and others aren't?
03:26No, you know, when you always feel punished you always feel like a victim
03:30and I don't feel like a victim today.
03:32I'm really proud of the performance and proud of the team.
03:36So, no.
03:39Mike?
03:40Have you ever seen that law used to disallow a goal before?
03:45Because none of us in the press box can think of an example.
03:49We have to go back to when BER started because before nobody could see it.
03:55No, not at all.
03:56But honestly we were talking about it in our stuff.
03:59Today we got the feedback.
04:04Again, we will watch it in detail.
04:07I don't know if there was really any influence, but we will find a solution.
04:17Like always.
04:18We're now setting the bar very low and all of a sudden
04:21we're going to see lots of brilliant free kicks that fly into the top corner
04:25being disallowed for the tiniest infringement.
04:28Yes, I was a little bit surprised because, you know,
04:31VR is treated or handled very, very cautious here in England.
04:37What I really appreciate, it's always about supporting the reference on field decision.
04:43But again, it's gone.
04:48So my thoughts are on Thursday.
04:51And my great team who is always watching all the set plays,
04:58they will watch it again and find a solution that in the next case it won't happen again,
05:04that the goal is disallowed and then we can celebrate and hopefully win.
05:10Copy.
05:11Back on the RSA and Mark Gay,
05:14what do you mean the way they conduct themselves,
05:18the way they performed during this period?
05:22Obviously, a lot they have to deal with off the pitch.
05:26I said it before, you know, I know it's, sorry, it's nothing personal with all of you,
05:33but I said, it's a good advice to the kids.
05:36Don't always believe what you read, especially in the internet.
05:40And here is the same, you know, who tells you,
05:42who knows that this is the truth, what is written?
05:45There are rumours and so many rumours.
05:47And, you know, everybody tells somebody something for his own advantage, maybe,
05:52you know, and then I know I watch the players every single day in the training sessions.
05:59We meet them.
06:00And again, if this, if everything or most of the things that are written about them is true,
06:05they couldn't perform like this.
06:07The team couldn't be together like this.
06:10The team couldn't be committed to each other like they are.
06:14It's just not possible.
06:15So again, I'm quite calm.
06:17But I also know we have two weeks to go.
06:21And I know Epps clause is gone.
06:26So it's, it's, it's the club's decision.
06:29And we will see what happens.
06:33Can I just ask you?
06:34Can you take the same start in XI in the sort of FA Cup final and then the finish year
06:41at the stage and the goals change?
06:43Is it more for you that you want not to get the team stronger,
06:47that side of being held and sort of that outgoing as well?
06:50Well, first of all is, and this is what I really appreciate is that we could keep the team together.
06:58The 15, 16 players who scored most of the minutes last, sorry,
07:01who played most of the minutes last season are still here.
07:04And I think this is what they show because everybody knows what to do in and out of position.
07:09And I think everybody felt the structure.
07:11Everybody feels comfortable on the pitch.
07:14Everybody has a great, a great togetherness in this group.
07:17And this is the foundation of our success.
07:20And from this foundation, here we want to build on.
07:24And this is what we did this year.
07:27Otherwise, a performance like that and like last Sunday isn't possible.
07:31And again, everything else is, we're talking behind closed doors.
07:36And as soon as you need to know something, you will hear from us.
07:42Okay, Bobby, last one.
07:44Can I just ask you about the decision of the solitude at Reggio to play?
07:48What kind of factors have you done?
07:51What factors have you done?
07:52Ah, we needed fresh legs and Epps was running a lot.
07:56The pressure increased.
07:57It was the same as Will Hughes.
07:58Will Hughes had the yellow card before.
08:00And we wanted to have a very physical player there with Jeff Lerma.
08:04And then it was Justin.
08:05We know he can run a lot.
08:08Great work ethic.
08:09Unfortunately, because he had a big chance with this lob pass from Adam Walton.
08:15Unfortunately, he missed the first touch.
08:17Because then he would have had a great finish like he had against Liverpool.
08:22So Justin came on against Liverpool as well.
08:24Because he's doing very, very well.
08:26And when we think we need fresh legs, then of course we take a substitution.
08:31Okay, thanks everyone.
08:33Bye-bye.
08:34Bye-bye.
