00:11Hey everybody, this is your old pal Grover. Are you ready to read along with us?

00:19Good! This is a story about the days of the week.

00:24Now, remember that every time you hear, turn the page.

00:34Sunday. It was a quiet Sunday and Grover was bored.

00:40There's nothing to do around here, he said.

00:44Nothing exciting ever happens.

00:48But Grover, said his mommy, something exciting is going to happen.

00:54Your Uncle Georgie is coming to visit us on Saturday.

00:58Saturday? That is very exciting, said Grover.

01:04I can hardly wait to show him my new bed and take him to the zoo and...

01:10Grover stopped.

01:12But when is Saturday, mommy? He asked.

01:16Is tomorrow Saturday?

01:24No, Grover, said his mommy.

01:27Saturday is a week away.

01:30Today is Sunday.

01:32After that comes Monday.

01:35Tuesday.

01:38Wednesday.

01:41Thursday.

01:44Friday.

01:45Saturday.

02:13Let's put this calendar on the wall.

02:18We'll cross out each day when it's over.

02:21That way, you can always see how many days are left until Saturday.

02:31Before going to bed that night, Grover crossed out Sunday on his calendar.

02:37Today was Sunday.

02:41He said to himself.

02:45Five more days until Saturday.

02:49Monday.

02:51The next morning, Grover looked at his calendar.

02:55Today is Monday.

02:59He said.

03:02Monday is house cleaning day.

03:05He helped his mother do the cleaning.

03:07Then he made a little tent house.

03:10And he cleaned that, too.

03:13On Monday afternoon, Grover, Prairie Dawn, and Harry Monster made animals out of clay.

03:20Harry Monster made a clay kitten.

03:23Prairie Dawn made a big clay dragon.

03:27Grover made a clay cow.

03:29On Monday night, Grover drew another X on his calendar.

03:39Today was Monday.

03:43He thought as he went to bed.

03:46Four more days until Saturday.

03:50Tuesday.

03:51Tuesday.

03:51On Tuesday, Grover went to the store with his mother.

03:58They bought lots of vegetables to make a big pot of soup.

04:02That night, Grover made another X on his calendar.

04:13Tuesday.

04:15It was vegetable soup day.

04:18He said.

04:19Only three more days until Saturday.

04:24Wednesday.

04:25Wednesday.

04:25On Wednesday, Grover went to Ernie and Bert's house to play.

04:32They made a building with blocks.

04:39Wednesday afternoon, Ernie and Bert and Grover went to the library with Big Bird.

04:46It was story day.

04:48They heard a story called Rumpelstiltskin.

04:51Grover loved it.

04:55That night, as Grover made an X on Wednesday, he said.

05:06Was story day.

05:09Only two more days until Saturday.

05:14Thursday.

05:16On Thursday, Grover played jump rope with Harry Monster and Cookie Monster.

05:21Grover jumped 53 times without missing.

05:32Cookie Monster and Grover went to Grover's house afterwards.

05:36Grover's mother let them play with some old clothes.

05:39They played dress-up all afternoon.

05:42Grover's mother said,

05:44Why don't you ask Cookie Monster to stay overnight?

05:48Oh, Mommy, said Grover.

05:51What a wonderful idea.

05:54Just before they went to sleep, Grover made another X on his calendar.

05:59Thursday.

06:02Cookie time to stay.

06:04He said happily.

06:06One more day until Saturday.

06:16Friday.

06:18Friday was the day Grover's mommy always took him to the park.

06:24Grover played on the slide with Cookie Monster.

06:28He pushed Big Bird on the swings.

06:30Then Big Bird pushed him.

06:32Then they all went to Grover's house and had cookies and milk.

06:37On Friday night, as Grover made an X on his calendar, he said,

06:49Friday

06:49was Park Day.

06:54Tomorrow is Saturday.

06:57Oh, my goodness.

07:00No more days until Saturday.

07:02Uncle Georgie will be here tomorrow.

07:05I think I will make up a little poem to surprise him.

07:13Saturday.

07:17Grover woke up early on Saturday.

07:20He looked at his calendar.

07:21Today is the day, he said.

07:26Uncle Georgie is coming.

07:28He hurried into the kitchen for breakfast.

07:31Just as Grover and his mommy were finishing their cereal, the doorbell rang.

07:37It was Uncle Georgie.

07:49Grover was so happy to see him.

07:52Hello, Uncle Georgie!

07:55Grover shouted, giving him a big hug.

07:58Hello, Grover, said Uncle Georgie, giving him just as big a hug.

08:05What have you been doing?

08:08I have learned something new, said Grover.

08:12And I made up a poem to tell you about it.

08:17My poem is called The Days of the Week.

08:21Sunday, Monday, do I know another?

08:28Yes, I do.

08:30Tuesday, no need to ask my mother.

08:34Next comes Wednesday.

08:37I am sure of that.

08:39After which comes Thursday.

08:42I will give myself a pet.

08:45The next day is Friday.

08:48I can say the days out loud.

08:52And the last day is Saturday.

08:57Oh, I am so proud.
