00:20I was really attracted to Penny Jo herself.
00:24She has so many big dreams and things that she wants to do.
00:28And she's stuck in a small town and I really felt for her.
00:31And I loved her journey that she went on.
00:33It's been amazing working with Halsey.
00:35She and I have been really good friends for a couple of years now.
00:38And so being able to work with someone who's your fellow friend and one of her first projects is so amazing to watch her grow.

00:52My character, Mandy, goes through like a pretty unbelievable journey in the film.
00:56And I can't spoil anything, but it ended up being very serendipitous because a couple months after I signed on to the film, I found out I was pregnant with my son.
01:04By the time we went to shoot the movie, I had a six-month-old and I was on set with him.
01:09And it was all very cathartic, to say the least.
01:11And now every time I look at my son Ender, I think about how old this movie is.
01:15The world is so full of bad things, it's frightening.

01:29I love playing him as a dad because I relate to his earnest love of his family and also the quandary he's always in, which he can't make everyone happy.
01:42I mean, I've been working with the best actors in the world for the last 12 years, and Sherry Stone is total pro.
01:48Sherry Lansing and I got our stars one day after each other, right here in front of Man's Chinese.
01:55And you always dream that you're going to go to Hollywood and you could be an actress and maybe you'll be a star.
