00:23And I just think we've got to be more careful when we describe what's going on here.
00:27Wildlife managers are not issuing carte blanche closures to hunting and fishing in these areas when they consider restrictions on lead ammunition and tackle.
00:38They're simply talking about the type of lead ammunition and tackle used in those areas.
00:44And they might, in appropriate cases, restrict lead.
00:48That is not a carte blanche closure.
00:50That's actually something that could prevent carte blanche closures.
00:54You know, if you set a standard that's so unattainable for refuge managers to ever restrict lead ammunition and tackle,
01:03what you're going to do is get to a point where you have to do a carte blanche closure,
01:08where it's the only way to protect the wildlife that we need in order to sustain hunting and fishing.
01:15So that is an example of tying your hands and actually doing something in the long term is going to hurt hunters and anglers.
01:23So I think there's a very wrongheaded premise behind this legislation.
01:29And I think that's why you don't see wildlife managers supporting it.
01:33You see the gun industry and the hook and bullet crowd supporting it.
