President Trump signs a Social Security proclamation in the Oval Office.
Transcript
00:00Social Security will be great again. You have my commitment. Thank you, Mr. President.
00:05Thank you very much. I'm going to sign the new proclamation, please.
00:11Sir, this is a proclamation both commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Social Security Act,
00:16the signing of the Social Security Act, and also the incredible accomplishments of your administration,
00:22fixing and promoting and safeguarding Social Security.
00:25And it also obviously mentions the fact that as part of the one big, beautiful bill,
00:29a vast majority of our senior citizens are no longer paying taxes on their Social Security benefits,
00:35as you promised in your campaign and as you delivered for the American people.
00:38That's a big factor, isn't it?
00:40Yes, sir.
00:40That's great. I think they're very happy about it, too.
00:44They're very happy about a lot of things. Good job, Frank.
00:47Thank you, sir.
00:47And Frank has brought with him some of the most talented people in business,
00:56and they were making, again, they were making a lot of money, but they made a lot of money.
01:00They had money they didn't have to make anymore, and they just want to do this.
01:03They want to have our country become strong and good, and that's what's happening.
01:09And we're doing that in a lot of locations, a lot of areas.
01:12You deal with some of the people that are commissioners, that are secretaries of state,
01:18secretaries of treasury and commerce, people that were really, really successful people.
01:25And they gave all that up to make a very small amount of money.
01:30They don't even consider it a fraction.
01:32You say 1%, less than 1%.
01:34That's pretty good. That's a big pay cut.
01:38But Frank is one of the most outstanding of all.
01:40His career has been incredible, and you just have to look at what happened at J.P. Morgan Chase
01:45and look at what happened with First Data.
01:46First Data was the biggest company of its kind in the world, but it was not going to make it.
01:52He went in, and it became a tremendous success and merged into another company,
01:58and he became the head of that company.
02:00Then he said, let me go save Social Security, because as big as that stuff is,
02:05it's small potatoes compared in terms of numbers, right?
02:07In terms of numbers, these are big numbers.
02:09Government numbers are big numbers.
02:11So I want to thank everybody for being here, but I'm really proud of you, Frank.
02:15And here's your proclamation, and let's take a look at what that looks like.
02:19Signed by the human hand.
02:23For a change.
02:25That's good, right?
02:26That's good.
02:27Uh, yeah.
