00:00So we just heard there from our previous guest, I don't know if you could hear him, from Jake.
00:06And do you agree with his thoughts on Israel's full occupation of Gaza?
00:12Is it the only way to eradicate Hamas and make sure that Israel is safe in the future?
00:20Well, actually, when we talk about the invasion of Gaza, Gaza has always been under siege by the Israelis for the last 17 years,
00:27even before the coup d'etat and before October 7th.
00:31So we don't see anything new by claiming that they will continue the war on innocent civilians
00:38and trying more or less to control Gaza for security reasons, because they will never get rid of Hamas
00:45and they will never try to control, I mean, physically Gaza for a long time,
00:50because, you know, this is an occupation that has been going on for the last 78 years.
00:55Now, the international community has been, you know, very critical of Israel's occupation
01:01with so many U.N. resolutions and nothing has been done
01:04because the Americans have always used veto power in favor of the Israelis.
01:09So what's new in reoccupying Gaza?
01:11Is Israel going to create security by reoccupying Gaza?
01:16Is that the story?
01:17Or withdrawing from Gaza, ending occupation and coming back to the negotiating table
01:23in order to finalize the daily nation borders with the Palestinian Authority.
01:28That's the way out of this quagmire and this conflict.
01:31It's not by proselytizing, you know, through biblical prophecy, the occupation of Gaza,
01:36then the occupation of some part of Jordan, Saudi Arabia and what have you.
01:41These are all considered to be rhetoric that Netanyahu is using basically to justify his position,
01:48to stay in power until, you know, something concrete could happen
01:52where he could, in the final analysis, admit that, you know,
01:57this war on Gaza has been a major mistake by Netanyahu
02:01and by this extreme right-wing government in Israel.
02:05So, let's see.
