00:00Previously on Project Runway, I'm back!
00:07I'm having a slight flashback because in my other season,
00:12it was also a team challenge, and I'm having a little PTSD.
00:16What's happening? I already need a martini. All right.
00:19In season 19, I left on episode one,
00:22but I'm very confident about what I made for this challenge.
00:26Literally, like, my intern could sew that in 30 minutes.
00:29I'm a Gemini. I take critiques very like,
00:31don't tell me what to do.
00:33That was the one that I'm using.
00:34Okay, well, I can use it too.
00:36BJ is in her own bubble.
00:39She's very standoffish.
00:40Which part of my start?
00:42This is my best-in-law.
00:43Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.
00:45She's what we call in the business.
00:47A .
00:49Congratulations, Ethan.
00:51You're the winner of this challenge.
00:53Shut up!
00:54Casey, Joseph, and Antonio.
00:57You had the three bottom looks.
00:58Am I being punk?
01:00Ooh.
01:01Oh, he's spicy.
01:02I don't think there's any reason to be defensive.
01:04No, I'm not being defensive at all.
01:05Casey, it's very lackluster.
01:08And what you then wrapped around to me looks like an afterthought.
01:11Do we sit home with a bad dress or the bad attitude?
01:14Just very emotional.
01:16I can't believe this is happening again.
01:18You're so mean.
01:19I'm gonna know.
01:20Why am I here?
01:21I want to go home.
01:26A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine, and a life-changing mentorship
01:33with the CFDA.
01:34I can't believe it could happen again.
01:36It just feels like a bad joke.
01:37I can't go home.
01:38Like, I didn't get to show who I was as a designer.
01:41Let's prove to them that we'd make it to the end.
01:45My brother and I are supposed to make it to the end together.
02:11I can't believe I'm in the bottom.
02:13I might be going home.
02:15We're ready?
02:26Casey, Antonio, Joseph, we've made our decision.
02:38Joseph, you're safe.
02:42You can leave the runway.
02:45Thank you, Joseph.
02:52Casey, you had the most beautiful fabric, but it was evident you had unresolved design
02:59problems.
03:01Casey, I thought your dress was delicious, but your attitude was despicable.
03:09hmm Casey Antonio one of you will be in and one of you will be out Antonio
03:27you're in
03:39you can leave the runway okay see I'm so sorry but that means you're out yes
03:50oh my god you're so sweet I'm so grateful to met you good luck thank you
03:57bye guys come here I'm so glad I got to meet you guys I'm like beyond shocked to
04:09be eliminated for this lock Casey yes I know it's rough going on the first it's
04:14hard but you're so talented that's why you're here that's why you came back
04:17right think about hold that think I'm gonna send you the workroom clean up
04:21your space say goodbye to everybody okay okay and good luck it feels harsh to
04:26leave at this stage of the competition again I definitely feel like I wish I
04:29could have shown more but I still am really proud of it project runway is an
04:34experience I will never forget and I'm probably finished with as of now
04:39all right come back sit around we're not done oh my god Christian I don't know how
04:52much we can take today competition is very real now you just saw it Casey
04:57walked out the door goes quick Ethan congratulations thank you so much I
05:06have something extra for you oh my geez oh what do you got mama because you guys
05:14are gonna continue to work in houses a little longer as the winning designer in
05:21the next challenge you're gonna have an opportunity to swap a designer from a
05:25house Christian Siriano really came in and was like let me just drop a rock into
05:34this pond think on it like Heidi said new house new rules you'll decide at the
05:42next challenge the houses aren't over yet get ready for it bring it on I think I
05:50know what I'm going to do things are about to get spicy
05:54hey guys guys listen to this here's a gift put these on and meet me in the
06:13work room thank you that last challenge was a lot for me and Antonio I think you
06:23are being defensive and also a little bit rude sorry if you hate the coat I hate
06:28the whole look but at the same time law don't you worry my strategy about this
06:42switch is I really want to make sure I'm making the best decision for me so do I
06:47get rid of hey Zeus the boisterous one all I have to do is prove him wrong or BJ
06:54do I have to do is try that it's hard to work with how's it going diva so here's to the right choice
07:03all right come on get then get comfortable get on your mat I don't know any yoga poses does anybody
07:18know yoga poses okay come show me yoga is not my thing I'm the type of person that gets really bored
07:25in the gym then this thing yes my workout is walking to that coffee shop and then enjoy people watching
07:33that's a workout so you're gonna continue to work in houses Ethan remember you have the power to swap a
07:46member of your house I think I am going to do a swap a swap no if Ethan is smart enough he's gonna
07:57keep me because he knows what I'm capable of doing and he knows I'm a strong designer I think he should
08:02get rid of BJ because she has not been a team player and bring over Antonio the pressure so I'm going to swap
08:14hey Zeus with Madeline hey Zeus and Madeline Wow you messed up honey
08:32I hope you don't regret your decision I have full confidence that you're gonna kill it and I really
08:37want to see this dynamic happen because y'all been claiming that y'all are a powerhouse together and I
08:44want to see it well get ready they are all talk they run a store together but I'd love to see this
08:52store close baby all right for this challenge each house must create a cohesive activewear capsule
09:01collection where the collection goes from workout to the weekend with one of the hottest activewear
09:07companies Kalia to give you guys some more insight into Kalia we have a special guest vice president and
09:18head designer for Kalia Alisha Scott so good to meet all of you we created Kalia about 10 years ago and
09:32really wanted to form a brand that is the perfect juxtaposition of fashion and femininity and function
09:39and I love how you guys have all styled all your pieces you got today our entire collection is rooted
09:44in performance if you're designing a look for Pilates or run it needs to be able to function we
09:50believe there's beauty in the burn how's it gonna work whenever she is doing a downward dog make sure
09:55that when you're designing a piece it can be used for working out going to grab coffee going out to grab
10:02cocktails with your friends it needs to be versatile so not only has Kalia provided lookbooks they've
10:08also provided all the fabrications for the challenge that's not all Kalia is going to produce and sell
10:18the winning look from the winning collection that would be so cool to have a Joseph McCray and Kalia
10:25produce but I feel like it would eat down I love the idea of this like beauty in the burn so what if we
10:32have like fire on the runway like actual fire so you'll have all of today and part of tomorrow to create
10:41your fire worthy collections don't you love a one-day challenge yes one day to do this as if there
10:49weren't enough stress already the burn of it all Ethan you want to see what it's like when you put
11:01Antonio and I together it's gonna be game on and it's gonna push me to even do better to beat him
11:08and then he's gonna realize that he up girl whatever
11:19what's our team wow team winner team winning no it has something to do with fire team I guess it's
11:30final answer I'm glad I put together a strong team I really wanted to equalize the energy of our group
11:37by putting all of the boisterous energies on one team I'm actually very happy that Ethan let
11:49go Jesus because I don't want another drama that was the one that I'm using like which one I can use
11:55it too and it could be hot to do the lines in the popular so we'll all have the lines incorporated
12:04yeah okay okay guys we need to start the cutting fabrics I just want to be cohesive I do like this
12:11color story situation going over here but we got we got to pick a group of fabrics and all go with
12:17it we decided to call our team the house of Lotus because we wanted to feel the zen within the burn
12:23and so coming off the last challenge being in the bottom our stickler was our cohesion so as we're
12:31going through these fabrics that Kalia provided us we're really paying attention to what color palette
12:36we want to do so that we really nail that cohesion this time because if we miss it two times in a row are we
12:42going to be done for I love this fabric that was trying to get the colors out of this this has all
12:48all your colors once again Antonio is choosing the fabric and I'm getting a little anxious because
12:56the last time he chose fabric we were in the bottom can y'all roll the tape back so the fabric that I
13:03brought from home is in pink so let's have the inspiration of our collection be butterflies that's
13:08the best one out of all of them I think we should go with that I don't like that no you like this better
13:14I mean I like this I don't like that either but I mean I wanted to start with Miss Joan I want to
13:20know what it is oh is the drama already beginning you know working with the twins you know they're a
13:26whole vibe but our looks have to be cohesive I love Miss Joan but she's a little little old school
13:34and stuck in the back in the days this fabric's so cool it's just more young I'll make it work
13:39don't use the fabric scissors you nincompoop I love Alex I didn't expect this competition to become so
13:51connective so quickly and me and Alex bonded so quickly it's so soft it's so cozy like she's gonna
13:57be in it I want it I want it I'm making a lounge sweatsuit with a corset bustier top it all sprouted from
14:06trying to use the aspects of a kimono I grew up in Greensboro North Carolina but my Nana was a tailor from
14:16Nagasaki Japan so I find a lot of inspiration in what the Japanese call intangible cultural treasures but my mama would say that I don't bring in a lot of
14:19the South with me how are you feeling this week you know great it looks really cool thank you so much I appreciate that you are absolutely looking at the next winner of Project Runway
14:24my design aesthetic is a combination of street wear and elegance I want to win Project Runway for my daughter Ava
14:36it's right here having her change me as a person it gave me so much more drive and I do this all for her so I have to make this stand out and hopefully wilder judges
14:43Madeline what informs your work I'm trying to always like see things that I like about vintage fashion but then I'm really looking at this
15:05What informs your work?
15:07Trying to always, like, see things that I like about vintage fashion,
15:13but then giving it, like, my own little twist.
15:16What about yourself?
15:18I grew up in, like, a hoedunk farm town.
15:20I just felt inherently so different from the rest of my family.
15:23The only thing I could really do was, you know, rely on my own creativity and imagination
15:28to kind of distract me from maybe not feeling like I belonged there.
15:33Did they accept you as you are?
15:35Like, you know, when I finally did come out, they were like,
15:40we don't get it yet, but we just don't want to lose you.
15:43So we're going to try to figure this out.
15:46I feel really blessed to be able to have my family in my life.
15:50So it makes me want to really push myself to win this for them.
15:59Hello.
16:00Hey, Chris Che.
16:01How's the team going?
16:03Let's go.
16:04I do think the silhouette of this skirt you still have to figure out.
16:08Oh, Lord.
16:09This might send me home.
16:12I am a technical designer, and I am a serious workaholic.
16:17My family's Jamaican, and I've always been raised with all the elders around me doing multiple things.
16:23Even if it's not their job, they're going to figure out how to do it that day and do it.
16:27So I have to push myself because this workout weekend challenge is taking me out of my comfort zone.
16:34I really wanted to do something that was extremely comfortable.
16:37I think it feels a little too demure.
16:40I think I made the right decision.
16:43I was the one who fought to use this print because Mrs. Joan didn't like it.
16:47She still doesn't like it.
16:48Okay.
16:49So you did it again.
16:50You wanted a print again.
16:52Everybody wants this print?
16:56Groundbreaking, this circle skirt.
16:59Yeah.
17:00Mm-hmm.
17:01I can cut a circle out right now and do this in 10 minutes.
17:03Really?
17:04We're kind of not the exact same look from the last challenge.
17:10Uh-huh.
17:11You're making a jacket and a skirt?
17:13A jacket and a skirt.
17:16Let me tell you a little something about Christian Seriano.
17:19Christian would come in the workroom like,
17:21Mm, are you sure about that?
17:25Or he'd be walking around like,
17:26Mm, okay.
17:28That little face be killing me with them glasses and that hair perfectly swappeded to the side.
17:32The top being fabulous is very important here.
17:35We should develop this more because you already know you can make a cool jacket.
17:39I'm going to listen to Christian because I know I'm taking a risk,
17:42but I do not want to be in the bottom again.
17:44You got a lot to do.
17:45I got you.
17:46Okay.
17:47Let's get it.
17:49I'm kind of going for like that modern with a little bit of Tron.
17:53This sash doesn't do anything.
17:55She couldn't do any athletic things with this hanging.
18:00Mm.
18:01What are all these lines on this?
18:04So I kind of want to achieve this kind of like texture.
18:08All of these lines you're going to weave.
18:10The inspirations for this design is the Kalia logo.
18:14It's like a twisted string.
18:16It's like very dynamic.
18:18What are you doing?
18:20It's going to be like a more like athletic fancy corset bustier kind of thing.
18:29This makes no sense for an athletic look.
18:33That scares me.
18:34Athleisure specifically is not something that I normally do.
18:37Unfortunately time is not on our side in this competition.
18:42Christian has his doubts about this corset, but we're sticking to our guns.
18:47Hmm.
18:48What are you doing?
18:49I am doing an oversized hoodie, which I'm thinking about cropping.
18:54I did the pin tuck in my hand.
18:56Mm-hmm.
18:57It's going to have the same pin tuck in all over the pants as well.
19:00Oh.
19:01So you're also doing a sweat.
19:04Oversized sweat pant.
19:05Oversized sweat pant in the same fabric.
19:08Is the pant wide like that wide?
19:11You haven't even looked at each other's stuff and she's right in front of you.
19:15Honestly, I really don't know much about what my team is doing.
19:19This is it.
19:20Yes.
19:21Looks very similar.
19:22Having looked at the other designers on my team, I've just been too focused.
19:26So we just have a wide pant off on the runway in the same fabric.
19:32What the ?
19:33Like, what am I going to do next?
19:34I need to think fast and pivot into some other different silhouette.
19:38If I don't succeed, I'm worried it might put me on the bottom.
19:47So I'm looking at Team Lotus and it does not fit the brief that we got.
19:52What's going on underneath?
19:53So it's going to be the pop out.
19:54So we both have mesh.
19:55Their looks are looking a little all over the place.
19:58I think that we're going to take this one home.
20:00I look at the other team.
20:02It's like crickets in that side of the room.
20:04No one's really talking to each other.
20:06And here we are, like, you know, blah, blah, blah.
20:08And then at night, she just puts a glove in, honey.
20:11Okay, this, do this.
20:13Like, we're helping each other.
20:14Yes.
20:15Yes.
20:16Ethan, I hate to tell you, but you will be the losing team.
20:20Are you ready? Let's go.
20:22Models, let's go.
20:24This very cool jacket with a pleated skirt.
20:34That's the top?
20:35I think so.
20:36So how does one do anything athletic in that top?
20:41I think I'm over here eating it up, and it's just like, yeah, no.
20:48Are we playing tennis where you tie your arms up?
20:52If I don't come through with this bra, like, I feel like the whole look is going to go kaput.
20:56It's so different when I design on paper and design on you.
21:01You trend's pleated skirt.
21:03It's really short.
21:04I thought it was a mistake, but it's not a mistake.
21:09Because mama, I'm a slut.
21:12You decided?
21:13Yeah, yeah, I'm going to do some nice shorts and then the cargo pockets.
21:17That shoe, are you nuts?
21:20What kind of shoe?
21:21Blah.
21:22Whoa, what?
21:23Now you're buying something.
21:25That tic-tac shoe.
21:27You have no side seam.
21:30There's no side seam.
21:32Interesting.
21:34You can't do that.
21:35Look at her butt.
21:37That's crazy.
21:39These pants are styled after a Japanese hakama pant, where there aren't really side seams,
21:46and all of the volume is put into pleats across the back.
21:49Since we're paying homage to my Japanese ancestress, it's really important for me to nail this look that I make.
21:58And I am feeling the pressure.
22:00Bye, models.
22:05Thank you so much.
22:06Hello?
22:07Oh, I have to take this.
22:08Sorry.
22:09You're going to be laughing when that little hem falls out.
22:11I'm going to tear it up.
22:13I'm feeling really good about my look.
22:15But what if your team doesn't?
22:17But after the model fitting, I'm feeling a little worried about my team.
22:21Alex has these grand ideas, but she is running out of time.
22:25And Angelo's work is looking a little simple.
22:28If Jesus kills it, then I lost a valuable player.
22:31I hope that I made the right decision.
22:37Guys, our muses are here.
22:38Look at this.
22:40All right, designers, send your models to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
22:44We got three hours to finish up these looks and send these girls down the runway.
22:50It's crunch time.
22:51Glowy, dewy kind of thing.
22:53I love it.
22:54Maybe something that's been like smudged a little bit.
22:56That's it right there.
22:57Bye.
22:58Bye, everybody.
22:59Y'all have fun.
23:00Until next time.
23:01Is there a leader this time?
23:04No, because I think we don't want to have a leader technically because we don't want to blame someone.
23:10The last team challenge, I think Jesus was acting as the leader because he talked a lot.
23:18But this time, we don't have a leader, so it's a mess.
23:22All right, five minutes, you guys.
23:24Five minutes.
23:25We're leaving this room.
23:26That's the back of the pant?
23:28Mm-hmm.
23:29Okay.
23:30Well, I know I ain't in the back.
23:32I'm worried about Alex.
23:34She's looking not finished.
23:36Mm, mm, mm.
23:38Child.
23:39I mean, I got what?
23:40How many minutes?
23:41I am really concerned with how the top is turning out and the cut of the pant.
23:45Are there pockets?
23:47No.
23:48No.
23:49All right.
23:50But there's no more time and nothing else to do about it.
23:54All right, designers.
23:55That's it.
23:56That's time.
24:04Hello, designers.
24:05Welcome to the runway.
24:07As you know, in fashion, one day you're in and the next day you're out.
24:11For this challenge, we ask you to create a cohesive activewear collection for Calia that goes from workout to weekend.
24:18You worked in teams and you had only one day to create your collection.
24:22All right, let's meet our judges.
24:24CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, La Roche.
24:30Editor-in-Chief of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia.
24:33Woo!
24:35And our guest judge and co-owner of the fashion line favorite daughter, Sarah Foster.
24:40Woo!
24:41I'm so excited to see Miss Sarah Foster.
24:44She has a really good head on her shoulders around how to make a woman feel beautiful and comfortable in the clothes.
24:49She's gorgeous.
24:50Okay, we're ready.
24:51Let's start the show.
24:52It's gonna be flaming hot.
24:54I wish I had a marshmallow.
24:57This got flammable hair now.
24:59Wait a minute.
25:00I told you it was gonna be hot and I was not talking about Hans and Franz.
25:04Let's go.
25:05Look at us now.
25:06Woo!
25:07I do feel like I have successfully captured the essence of this challenge with creating something
25:20that goes from workout to weekend.
25:23With the pin tucking, the silhouette, the styling's really good.
25:27I'm feeling really confident.
25:28Oh, she's a professional.
25:29You know, you know.
25:30Look at us now.
25:33I'm very proud of this look.
25:35My look looks very modern, sexy, and fun.
25:39And the red line on the jacket is everything.
25:42That is a short skirt.
25:44But she's got some good legs.
25:46Look at us now.
25:47Now.
25:48Baby or not, here I come.
25:51I'm just looking at the outfit.
25:53It's not as bad as I expected it to be.
25:56But I know what's going on, on the inside.
25:59It's messy.
26:02Bessy.
26:03I'm not happy about it.
26:05It could have been worse.
26:06It could have also been better.
26:08I like that.
26:09I would wear that.
26:10You're very generous.
26:11Oh, no.
26:16With my athleisure look, I'm feeling pretty satisfied.
26:19I like it.
26:20I think it's cute.
26:21It's nothing, like, really shocking.
26:24But I am just elated that the athleisure challenge is in the past.
26:28She's got it.
26:29This is what it means to have greatness.
26:32Stepping out, I ain't checking out.
26:34She looks amazing.
26:35I've worked hard to achieve that details, that those string woven by hand.
26:41I cut all those holes individually.
26:43It takes a lot of work to create that textile.
26:46I want to make sure that every piece that I make is a labor of love.
26:50I don't get that curly hair with that.
26:55With that side fin, it's flowing down the runway.
26:58It's got movement.
27:00Oh, it looks so good.
27:04I would wear that now.
27:05I may have slayed a little bit too hard this week,
27:07so I'm hoping that it can pull this team through to the wind.
27:17This look, it's very universal.
27:19This girl can do Pilates and then put some heels on,
27:22put a jacket on, and go have a cocktail with the girl just at night.
27:25I'm proud of myself.
27:27It would mean a lot to win this challenge and have that collab with Kalia.
27:36I'm happy with how this look turned out.
27:39I feel like it's me, and I'm starting to be more confident in what I'm designing
27:43and believe whatever I'm creating is good.
27:50I see my look coming down the runway, and I'm thinking, okay, yes.
27:54Even though I didn't choose this fabric, I was able to be a team player.
27:59And I think that she looks fabulous.
28:01I love the drama.
28:02This is the future.
28:04You better own it.
28:05I nailed it.
28:06Oh, my God.
28:07Oh, my God.
28:09This is the moment.
28:11He records.
28:12They gonna go watch me now.
28:14Well, we know who that is.
28:19My model is looking so everything.
28:21And then she unzips this jacket, and it's just like, oh, welcome to the party.
28:26Bring out the tatas.
28:27Ah!
28:28I took a risk with almost recreating my previous look, and I hope this paid off.
28:35That's my girl.
28:40Wow.
28:41Like, I'm just literally getting chills.
28:43The way she's walking, the way that the pants are moving, how powerful she looks.
28:47I'm feeling great.
28:49I could definitely see this in stores and see a lot of people wanting these pants, wanting
28:54this bomber, even the bag.
28:56I love this.
28:57Our team, everything was executed beautifully, and I think that that showed on the runway.
29:02We did good, guys.
29:03We did it.
29:04I am not worried about myself, but it's hard to tell, you know, it's two different vibes.
29:10So, I hope that the switch doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.
29:17Hello, hello, hello.
29:20Bravo.
29:21That was a show worthy of fire.
29:23Congrats to all of you.
29:25We have scored your designs, and one house ran circles around the other.
29:33Antonio.
29:34Joan.
29:35Yes.
29:36Joseph.
29:38Jesus.
29:39And Belania.
29:42You are the winning house.
29:43What?
29:44Wait, wait, wait.
29:46Wait, wait, wait.
29:47I don't think that's a big deal.
29:48I told you.
29:51Alex, Angelo, Madeline, Eugene, BJ, and Ethan.
29:57You are our least favorite collection.
30:00Damn.
30:01We're going to talk to you later, and you can leave the runway.
30:05Damn it.
30:06My squad being in the bottom, it's unfortunate.
30:10I don't know what happened.
30:14I don't get it.
30:15We just clearly took two different directions, team-wise.
30:19Chips fall where they may, right?
30:21This challenge meant a lot to me.
30:24I just got in my head.
30:26I just hope that I get to stay.
30:32Congratulations.
30:33What we really liked about your collection is that there was a cohesion.
30:36Thank you so much.
30:37All right.
30:38We would like to talk to the designers that were our three favorite looks.
30:41And that is you, Joseph.
30:44Bolania.
30:45Oh.
30:46Yeah.
30:47And you, Jesus.
30:49So that means Joan.
30:50Yes.
30:51And Antonio.
30:52You're safe.
30:53But I do have to tell you, Antonio, we all thought that yours was our least favorite in the winning team.
31:03Thank you so much.
31:04You can leave the runway.
31:05Nice meeting you guys.
31:06Bye.
31:07My brother's in the top again for the second week.
31:09I thought my look was really good.
31:10I want to be on top.
31:11It sucks.
31:13So I'm just ready to prove these judges wrong.
31:16All right.
31:17Let's bring out your models.
31:19Come on, girls.
31:21Yes.
31:22What's up, Oscar?
31:23Oh, we did it.
31:24We're going to start with the designer where we didn't have to guess a whole lot who made it, and that is Joseph.
31:29Without a doubt, when we saw her walk down the runway, we knew it was you.
31:33And I think she could actually work out in this because of her little shorts under.
31:37Oh, surprise.
31:38Surprise.
31:39Yay.
31:41And she can throw on a pump or a heel and go straight to the weekend, which that was the challenge.
31:46Thank you so much.
31:47I would wear that jacket to the gym, but then I'd also wear it to dinner that night with a pair of jeans.
31:51I'm into you.
31:53I don't know how else I can say it.
31:54I mean, I'm just into all of it.
31:56I like your look, too.
31:57I like her vibe.
31:58It stands out.
31:59It's memorable.
32:00To me, she's badass and flirty at the same time.
32:04Thank you, Joseph.
32:05Thank you so much, everyone.
32:06All right.
32:07Belania, you're next.
32:08Oh, Lauren.
32:09I really love the work that you did on this top.
32:12I think it's really beautiful.
32:14I love all the detail that you made with the pockets, correct?
32:21And I love the fact that you considered an option.
32:24She can be resurred with the turtleneck and she can be super sexy without it.
32:29Without.
32:30Yep.
32:31I mean, I like that fabric, as you can see.
32:33The detail of the skirt is really cool and it's a flattering waistband.
32:38Waistbands can go very unflattering.
32:40Girl.
32:41Very easily.
32:42Whatever it is, I like it.
32:45All right.
32:46That leaves us with Jesus.
32:47Jesus, I have to say this.
32:49You have done something that a lot of people cannot do and that is to shut me up.
32:56Wow.
32:57I was so tough on you on the runway and you were in the winning group and I was still
33:02tough on you on the runway.
33:03I actually hated your look.
33:04She doesn't look cool.
33:05She doesn't look young.
33:06I think this is so versatile.
33:08I think that a girl could really work out with this.
33:11And sellable, too.
33:12Yeah.
33:13Work out with it and then wear it out on the weekend.
33:16I would wear those pants in a heartbeat.
33:18The pant turns into a straight leg pant.
33:21She could wear it like this.
33:22I mean, she could open it up a little.
33:24Well done on that.
33:25It's great.
33:26Fabulous.
33:27Chic and effortless.
33:29What I also love is the detail.
33:31The fact that you thought about the zipper on the side.
33:34Can you turn around?
33:36And that little pocket with that little black detail.
33:41Those details all matter, right?
33:43Yeah.
33:44Thank you, Nina.
33:45I want to be this girl that would wear this.
33:47Thank you so much.
33:48But now is the moment of truth.
33:53They can only be one winner.
33:57And Jesus, it's you.
33:59You were our favorite look.
34:00Congratulations.
34:01Oh, he's crying.
34:02Don't be hiding those tears.
34:04I want to see them.
34:06Those are tears of joy.
34:08Thank you so much.
34:09Yeah.
34:10Not only are you the winner.
34:11That's crazy.
34:13But that also means that Kalia will also produce and sell your look.
34:16And I'm going to buy it.
34:17Me too.
34:18I love it.
34:19Congratulations.
34:20We're all going to wear it.
34:21We're all going to wear it.
34:22Wow.
34:23Thank you guys so much.
34:24All right.
34:25You can leave the runway.
34:28Oh my gosh.
34:29We did it.
34:30Ethan, you got rid of me and I prove you wrong.
34:32I truly believe that if I would have stayed in his team, we would have won again.
34:36We won.
34:37I won.
34:38When I came on Project Runway 15 years ago, I was so young.
34:46I wasn't really out of the closet at that time and I didn't know who I was as a designer
34:51and now coming back, I am a loud gay queer boy.
34:55So to win the challenge and do this collab with Kalia, it just reassured my purpose of
35:00why I'm here, to create really amazing stuff and to be on top.
35:09Unfortunately, you were our least favorite collection.
35:13Ethan, your team, you.
35:20Unfortunately, you were our least favorite collection.
35:23Ethan, your team, you.
35:30Ethan, tell us, why do you think you guys are up here?
35:33Yeah, I think we did a great job.
35:37I think you did a great job.
35:40You had my favorite piece.
35:42I agree.
35:43So modern.
35:45Do you regret switching one person out?
35:49I don't want to say I shot myself in the foot because I love our team.
35:53I don't believe you.
35:55I think you knew that you had a great look and you didn't give a about the other people on the team.
36:01Damn.
36:02All right, Alex, Angelo, and BJ, you are our least favorite looks.
36:07That means Eugene, Ethan, and Madeline, you're safe. You can leave the runway.
36:19All right, BJ, let's start with you.
36:20Let's start with the positives because there is a positive here.
36:23The silhouette, I think, is nice. I like the length. I like that it's not a midi and it's not a mini. I think that's versatile. A lot of people can wear that.
36:30It's just really, that's all I liked about it.
36:33You guys like the ties dangling?
36:35I love the ties.
36:36Yes.
36:37I think it kind of looks like a tampon.
36:38I think, oh!
36:40I mean, this is, this is unwearable.
36:42I also don't understand this girl.
36:44I think the work that you've done, I think it's quite beautiful.
36:47But it doesn't scream active wear to me at all. Like, I don't get it.
36:50That's the problem.
36:51That's the problem, yeah.
36:52You needed to make this a top, a pair of black leggings, and call it a day, and you would have had a hit.
37:01This didn't need to be a cocktail dress.
37:03Out of context.
37:06All right, Angelo, let's hear about your look.
37:08Um, I designed men's street wear, so I just wanted to stay true to myself.
37:12I think where you have to be careful, Angelo, is that it felt to me a little safe and boring.
37:21You really need to bring in a sense of drama. Step it up.
37:25Listen, I'm a basic bitch, so I love sweats. I think this is cool. I like this. It's different. You know what I mean?
37:31It's not for me, but I appreciate that you added that detail on sweats.
37:35Yeah.
37:36I think it's really well made. It's just that there was no showmanship to it.
37:40Yeah.
37:41You know, I think that's where you fell flat.
37:42Okay. Thank you.
37:43All right, Alex, tell us about your look.
37:46So quite a few of my pieces are also inspired by kimonos. I incorporate into the way that I create different pieces.
37:53Is that part of your heritage to kimono?
37:55Yes. My grandmother was Japanese.
37:57Okay.
37:58So I go to the sauna a lot, and I love a corset. I don't care what the situation is.
38:04At the sauna. To relax.
38:05Well, obviously you're not going to wear a corset in the sauna, but post-sauna you can...
38:09But you gave her a corset. She doesn't look comfortable at all. She can't work out in this.
38:15Guys, the story has to match. You cannot piss on me and tell me it's raining. I'm sorry.
38:21Okay. Well, the corset, you're right. But the pant and the sweater top, I did like.
38:25I liked the movement coming down the runway. I don't know when it was coming down. I was like, oh, it looks kind of like Laura Piano vibes.
38:30Laura Piano vibes.
38:32Come on, guys. Turn around, please.
38:35No.
38:36Do you see the seam of the pant when she turns around? There's the puckering.
38:41Yeah, it is a struggle in the back.
38:43There's a little bit of a problem with this bib that falls from the corset.
38:47I think there's too many ideas put in. The flap in the front, the flaps down the arms.
38:51The flap on the sleeve. She's playing homage to her heritage and, you know.
38:54Yes, I love that. But I don't see that in the look at all.
38:57No.
38:58All right. There's a lot for us to talk about. You can leave the runway.
39:07Let's talk about Angelo.
39:08It is a tough competition to be in if you're that much of a minimalist.
39:13Because this is a show and you're competing with people that are going to razzle dazzle.
39:18You have to remember you are in a competition. You have to remember that. Give us a show.
39:25Vijay's look was actually really good.
39:28I hated it.
39:29The ties were insane.
39:31I thought the dress was really well made. It was just out of context.
39:34Yes, I would buy that.
39:36It was the wrong story.
39:37The sneakers with it is for me the worst.
39:39Yeah.
39:40I think she has to really watch out for her styling because I don't think she's got it together. And it's, as we all know, a full polish look that has to come down.
39:50Yeah.
39:51I will not be at leisure wear, but I hope that the judges will appreciate the hard work that I put in that dress.
39:58Alex's was an eyesore.
40:00The execution was really poor. And frankly, I also thought her styling was bad.
40:05Yeah.
40:06That as a top, I could work with that. Like with jeans and I literally can't work with any of it.
40:11I do not want to be part of a judging panel where everybody gets a trophy. It was really bad.
40:17It was bad. I agree.
40:18It really was.
40:19I'm not ready to go home this early in the game. I want my daughter to see her dad give it his all to achieve the dream of becoming the next big thing in fashion.
40:28It has been so much fun. I'm so pissed though. It's disappointing knowing what you have to offer and not doing that. I just hope that I have the chance to show people what I bring to the table as a creative.
40:47Oh, God.
40:49My girl, Alex, she's in the bottom. I wonder if things would have been different if I kept Jesus and next BJ.
40:57Maybe I should have been more of a leader. There's a part of me that's thinking, this is because of me.
41:04One mistake can send you home.
41:07Project Runway is, I know it's going to change my life for the better.
41:15I just hope that the judges will give me another chance.
41:20Next time on Project Runway.
41:23I think we're going to blow it up. Ethan and Jesus.
41:26And Jesus, you'll be picking your houses.
41:29I always wanted to start my own house.
41:31Each house must show that boring can be brilliant. Sofia Vergara will wear the winning look.
41:39What is all that? Fringe?
41:42Oh, Lord.
41:44Wait, you have nothing to try on.
41:45Oh, no.
41:46Ethan, your team has no clothes.
41:48It's super sexy.
41:50It was perfect for me.
41:52I'm in shock, actually.
41:54I did not come to work to look at a bunch of ugly clothes.
41:57I am pissed off.
41:59Let's keep going.
42:00Let's stop.
42:01I'm out.
42:02I'm out.
42:03I'll be happy to see you next time.
42:04Subscribe.
