Prague zoo keeps animals cool with icy treats

Animals at Prague Zoo found relief from the summer heat on Wednesday, August 13, after their keepers provided them with icy treats and cooling activities.

Polar bears were seen cooling off in ice and water, while gorillas examined large ice blocks containing fruit.

Senior primate keeper Martin Vojacek said that as well as helping the animals cope in higher temperatures, the ice blocks also helped entertain them by keeping them busy throughout the day.

The zoo's efforts extended to various species, including bison and parrots.
