00:00This video is about celebrating Europe's day. It is celebrated on 9th of May every year.
00:07So in this day, many European countries which has a cultural center in Delhi, they invite participants living in Delhi or nearby places.
00:18The cultural center of their embassies show documentaries, short films and also they try to give taste of local cuisines.
00:29This current place where I am standing is Alliance des Français of French Cultural Center.
00:34This place is Hungarian Cultural Center in Chanakya Puri, New Delhi.
00:39This place is Goweth Institute which is situated in Travancore House near Knot Place.
00:45So it is dedicated to German Cultural Center.
00:48So in the upcoming clips, you will see employees working in Goweth Institute.
00:52They will be showing about exhibition and telling in descriptive ways about women's struggle in life.
00:59So this is the August Kavita Valka Valka Valka Valka.

01:18She speaks about her identity into a book.
01:20And she speaks about that, even in society or even in the whole space.
01:27So, the postcard has images of women who are well known and you will see them, basically accomplished women.
01:55Excuse me.
01:57And there are also marginal likes and even in music voices are unheard.
02:17You know, often their culture is stereotyped and oppressed.
02:20So, this collective and they are also into environmental fashion and they are great.
02:25And so, this is their work.
02:27Also, people around us always seem to oppress and silence our voices when they are made by us and for us.
02:34And so, this is a very interactive artwork where they have stencils where there is no water here and we change each other.
02:41And so, you can just spray paint and have fun with it.
02:43You can also take your paintings home.
02:45And I mean, there is a lot of people inside of mine not to do this twice.
02:49So, this is a kind of work by Shidpa Gupta.
02:51And if you look closely into it, you will see people wearing uniforms which then you presume there have to be structures in institutions.
02:57And then you see police brutality in these pictures where police officers are detaining or arresting individuals who have spoken.
03:05People are there to protect us.
03:07And so, if they silence us and our voices then whom are they protecting us from?
03:12They are not willing to be military and they are very oppressive in nature.
03:17And so, also there is this narrative doing a crime that they are calling people in jail.
03:22This brings out a criminal perspective of trans people in jail.
03:26And they can be, and they are not guilty of their actions.
03:30So, a few of them were out to arrest it.
03:34They turn on after the performance.
03:37Like, you will do the performance, right?
03:43So, Shidpa Gupta does this cause close to the local union of Shidpa Gupta's feminist movement led by a government, right?
03:50And it was given protecting their land and their private.
03:54Particularly, they were hugging police.
03:57Chippo means sticking, right?
03:59And women hugging and sticking themselves to trees.
04:02And saying that they can die, they can give up their life, but you cannot cut their trees.
04:06You cannot cut their homeland.
04:07You can see that in the picture, this is a Bosnian carpet, which is handwritten by the women.
04:18So, which I love that women has.
04:22But in front of that, you will see in the video, her eat, which again is talking about the stories, the narratives of these victims that they have, victims of the violence.
04:38This is a very interesting, talking about the narratives of several women and this.
