A few favourite experiments that can be done at home using mostly readily available ingredients and objects.

00:00If you're a scientist, name three elements.
00:13Well, let's see now. There's gold, ham, and the tears of a mermaid.
00:24Two out of three, close enough.
00:25The Mobius Strip is a cool science experiment that you can do at home with just a pair of scissors, a piece of paper, and some sticky tape.
00:34What you need to do is this.
00:36You cut your strip, then you turn it around so that it's made into the kind of loop you might use to make a paper chain.
00:44But before you sticky tape it, you take one end of the strip and turn it around so that the strip is made into this quite peculiar loop.
00:58You take a pair of scissors and a piece of tape, and then you carefully tape your strip closed.
01:11Chop your Mobius strip in half.
01:15So we chop it in half right down the middle.
01:18All the way round, all the way round, all the way round.
01:23And generally, when you chop something in half, you should end it with two halves, right?
01:29But with a Mobius strip, what you might find, if you've done it correctly, is that instead of chopping it in half, you have chopped it in whole.
01:37You have made white strip that is twice as long.
01:41Very peculiar.
02:39Bye-bye.
02:39and what you should do at home is put your cup onto the plate
02:48add a little bit of water, you don't want to add too much water
02:50but you don't want to add the wrong amount of water either
02:52that's why they call it an experiment
02:55when you commit to going around
02:59you've got to do it with all your
03:01are you ready?
03:02time for a trip
