00:00what's up dudes i made a video about installing firefox csr on arch linux this is a new arch

00:06linux installation i thought of doing the same here there is a bonus though so the installation

00:16has usually two methods aside from the bonus the first one is to have git installed by installing

00:25by running the command sudo pacman dash uppercase s git i do have it installed so i don't need to

00:35reinstall it again press n here in my case in yours it can be y if you don't have it installed

00:46and then you run git clone https colon double forward slash aur dot arch linux dot org slash fire fox dash esr dash bin dot git

01:09you wait some time for it okay then cd firefox

01:21tab would auto complete for you and then make pkg dash s i

01:28there would be some confirmation prompts here you press y and enter most of the time you may press enter

01:40also to confirm some some stuff like uh whether you wanna change anything in the installation script

01:49and stuff i'm gonna cancel the installation to go to the to go to the second method

01:55the second method depends on an aur helper which you can install the same way we installed

02:04uh firefox the manual way you should decide what is your aur helper sometimes they have the same syntax as

02:12pacman in my case i have yay installed to install firefox esr i can simply run yay dash uppercase s

02:22firefox esr dash bin it will automate the process we have uh run few seconds ago so here press enter these

02:34are the prompts that i'm talking about they will still be there when you do this the automatic way

02:41okay enter again i press it enter once now i press it it again

02:59okay here i can press y and enter uh however i'm gonna press n to take you to the bonus the bonus

03:08depends on enabling uh chaotic aur i looked for firefox csr in the chaotic aur and i found that it

03:18does exist over there i have done the steps of enabling the chaotic aur in the video of dustbox i

03:28will put it in the description and maybe in the cards please make sure you enable your chaotic aur

03:33before before you run this last uh command or this steps command i have it enabled and i can prove it

03:47now here it is this is one of the evidences aside from the other commands that need to be run if you

03:56have enabled your chaotic aur simply run sudo pacman dash uppercase s firefox dash esr without dash bin at the

04:08end that's the only difference here if you have uh the chaotic aur it will install without the need for

04:20the compilation the compilation the compilation would happen if you didn't add dash bin at the end when you

04:26use the traditional installation from the aur without the chaotic aur whether the automatic way using an aur

04:35helper or the manual way that we saw in the first part of this video

04:49my installation through the bonus method is done let's run it you can definitely run it uh from

04:59the desktop launchers and stuff like that the menus etc depending on your desktop or window manager

05:07in my case i can run it in my case i can run it like this it should work

05:21and as you can see it's working we can check the version

05:25and it is esr the extended support release the default installation on arch linux without the aur whether

05:40chaotic aur or the the other ways is the is not the esr version it's the other standard standard version
