00:00In chess, the Philippines hauled 22 medals in the pre-South East Asian Games 2 chess tournament held in Singapore.

00:08Leading the country was Paolo Bersamina who brought home 6 gold and 3 silver medals in both individual and team categories.

00:16Also among the multiple medalists were Janela May Freyna, Ruel Canino, Jan Emanuel Garcia, Darwin Lailo and Jan Jodeline Fronda.

00:26In total, Team Philippines brought home 12 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals from the tournament.

00:33This competition served as a preparatory stage for the 2025 C Games to be held in Thailand this December.
