00:00Team Philippines brought home a total of nine medals at the 27th Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025.
00:07In the boys' division, international master Christian Giancarlo Arca led the charge, winning the gold medal in the Under-16 Blitz event,
00:15while also securing two silver medals in the Rapid and Standard categories.
00:20In the Under-8 category, Marius Constante bagged silver in Rapid and Bronze in Blitz.
00:26The Under-16 boys' team, composed of Arca National Master Keith Adrian Ilar and National Master Phil Markin Casiguran, also contributed a silver medal.
00:37Meanwhile, in the girls' division, WNM Jersey Marticio clinched the gold in the Under-18 Girls Rapid.
00:44The Under-18 Girls team added two silver medals in Rapid and Blitz,
00:49and a bronze in Standard represented by Marticio, WFM Ruel Canino, and WFM April Joy Claros.
00:57In total, the Philippines collected two golds, or five silver, and two bronze medals,
01:02a strong showcase of the rising talent of young Filipino chess players in the Asian region.
