00:00This is the clock tower that everyone's talking about.
00:04It's keeping some residents up at night who live just meters away
00:08and affecting a hotel business that sits just meters away.
00:13It rings every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
00:19The hotel owners have written to the council to request that the clock be silent overnight
00:24so that their guests can sleep after they received regular complaints
00:29resulting in negative online reviews.
00:32Since then the clock has received attention from national newspapers
00:36but not everyone is pleased with the request.
00:39Though some residents have joined the call for the clock to be silenced between 11.30pm and 7am
00:45others are saying that as part of the town's heritage
00:48the clock has always chimed 24 hours a day and should stay put.
00:53One commenter stated that the hotel owners who took over the hotel last year
00:57shouldn't have bought it knowing that it was so close to the clock
01:00if they weren't ready to receive these kinds of complaints.
01:03So what do you think? Should the clock be silenced or should the hotel owners?
01:08All right.
01:11We should go.
01:16So let's go.
01:17Let's go.
