00:00In 2023, the Indian Army established the Army martial arts routine training note in
00:11Baramulla's Uri sector, along with several others across the country.
00:26This is the unit where soldiers are trained in martial arts.
00:29Look here, it's exclusive for the troops of the 15 cops.
00:36So what makes this training special?
00:38The answer lies in the events of 2020-21, when clashes broke out between India and China
00:45at the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh's Galwan Valley.
00:54After that, the Army realized the need for the unarmed combat skills, the ability to take
00:59down an enemy without relying on weapons.
01:06In this program, troops learn a wide range of martial arts techniques, from taekwondo and
01:11boxing to shadow boxing, karate and MMA.
01:15But there's one difference, no rules, no regulations.
01:19Officers say, here your opponent is not a competitor.
01:22the enemy.
01:23Over the next two years, the Army expects that nearly 80% of its personnel will complete this
01:38mission, making them not only just brave but capable, self-reliant and as they put in one-man
01:46armies.
