00:00Mangoes are a beloved fruit in Thailand and it seems that everywhere you go and
00:04everybody has their very own mango tree in their house. But with this abundance comes a very Thai
00:10problem. Too many mangoes! It might sound like a good problem to have, but when mango season hits,
00:16the surplus can be overwhelming. That's when creativity kicks in. Overripe mangoes are
00:22turned into sweet treats like mango sticky rice, chewy dried mango rolls, or even pickled mangoes.
00:28Sometimes there's such an access that people try to give them away, but the neighbors usually have
00:33more mangoes than they know what to do with too. Thailand produces around 1.3 million tons of
00:40mangoes each year. The majority are grown in the northern and northeast region. The most popular
00:46is the Nam Doh Mai variety. So have you ever had a neighbor just show up with a bag of mangoes?
00:53Maybe they're being kind or maybe they just have too many mangoes at home.
