00:00In the field of medicine, the Quran says in Surah Nahal, chapter number 16, verse number 69
00:07From the belly of the bee, we give you a drink of varying colors in which there is healing for human kind
00:13We did not know previously that the honey is obtained from the belly of the bee
00:18We came to know hardly 300 years back that the honey we have is from the belly of the bee
00:23And today science tells us that the honey is rich in vitamin K and fructose
00:28And it even has mild antiseptic properties
00:31No wonder the Russian soldiers in World War II, they used honey to cover up the wounds
00:37And when the honey was put, the healing was done with leaving very little scar tissue
00:41And germs and bacteria could not grow in the wound because of the density of honey
00:46And if a person is suffering from the allergy of a particular plant
00:50If honey produced from that plant is given to him, he starts developing resistance to that allergy
00:58In the field of physiology, there is one particular verse
01:04Which talks about the blood circulation and the production of milk
01:11It was 600 years after the Quran was revealed that Ibn Nafis first described the blood circulation
01:21And 400 years after Ibn Nafis, William Harvey made it common to the world
01:261,000 years after the Quran was revealed and 400 years after Ibn Nafis spoke about the blood circulation
01:33William Harvey made it famous to the western world
01:36In our textbook, we read about William Harvey, we don't read the name Ibn Nafis
01:41Ibn Nafis was the first person who described the blood circulation
01:44Just in a nutshell, the food that we eat, it enters the stomach
01:50From the stomach, it goes into the intestine
01:52From the intestine, the constituents of the food via the blood vessel of the intestine
01:57Go into the bloodstream
01:58And it reaches almost all the different organs of the body
02:01Many a time via the complex way of the liver
02:04It also reaches the mammary glands which is responsible for the production of milk
02:08All this complex blood circulation and the production of milk
02:14Is mentioned in a nutshell in the Quran, in Surah Nahal, chapter number 16, verse number 66
02:19Where it says that verily in the cattle is a lesson for you
02:23We give you to drink from what is within the body
02:26Coming from a constituent of the contents of the intestine and blood
02:32Milk which is pure for you to have
02:34Quran repeats the message in Surah Minun, chapter number 23, verse number 21
02:38Verily in the cattle is a sign for you
02:41We give you to drink from what is within the body
02:43Milk which is pure for you
02:44And in it are various benefits
02:46And of the meat you can eat
02:48The Quran speaks about the blood circulation
02:51And the production of milk in a nutshell
02:53Which we came to know recently
02:55Quran mentions 1400 years ago
02:58In the field of embryology
02:59There were a group of Arab students
03:02Who collected all the verses of the Quran dealing with embryology
03:07Embryology means the study of the development of the human being
03:11Embryo is when a human being is in the womb of the mother
03:15In that stage it's called as an embryo
03:18The early stages
03:19So embryology is the study of the development of a human being
03:22So a group of Arab students collected all the verses of the Quran
03:26And the hadith dealing with embryology
03:27And followed the verses of the Quran of Surah Nahal, chapter 16, verse 43
03:31And Surah Anbiya, chapter 21, verse number 7
03:33Which says
03:34If you don't know, ask the person who's an expert
03:39So they collected all the verses of the Quran and the hadith
03:42And they translated into English
03:43And they took it to Prophet Keith Moore
03:45This was in the late part of the 1970s
03:47And they took it to Prophet Keith Moore
03:49Who at that time was one of the highest authority in the field of embryology
03:53He was the head of the Department of Anatomy
03:55In the University of Toronto in Canada
03:57And when the translation of these verses of the Quran
04:00And the hadith dealing with embryology
04:01Was shown to him
04:03And was asked for his comments
04:05He said
04:06That most of the verses of the Quran
04:09And the hadith
04:10Which speak about embryology
04:12Are 100% in conformity
04:14With what modern science has come to know recently
04:17But
04:18There are a couple of verses
04:20Which I cannot say is correct
04:22Neither can I say it is wrong
04:24Because I myself don't know about it
04:26Two such verses
04:28Were the first two verses of the Quran to be revealed
04:30That is from Surah Ikra or Surah Alak
04:32Chapter 96, verse number 1 to 2
04:34Which says
04:34Ikra
04:35Bismi Rabbik Allah
04:36Khalak
04:37Khalak al-Insana min alak
04:38Read, recite
04:40In the name of the Lord
04:41Who has created human beings
04:43From something which clings
04:44A leech-like substance
04:46So Prophet Keith Moore said
04:48I do not know
04:50Whether the embryo looks like a leech or not
04:52So he went in his laboratory
04:53And under a very powerful microscope
04:55Observed the early stage of an embryo
04:58And compared it with a photograph of a leech
05:00And he was astonished
05:02At the striking resemblance
05:04Later on
05:05When more than 80 questions were asked to him
05:07About embryology
05:09He said
05:09I would not be able to answer more than 50%
05:13If you would have asked me these 30 years back
05:16Because embryology is a new branch of medicine
05:19Developed recently
05:20This he said in the late 1970s
05:22Now it has developed
05:24And what you are asking me
05:25I can answer
05:25Because in the last 30 years
05:27That means in early 1950s
05:30Or late 1940s
05:32We came to know about this
05:33And Quran speaks about them
05:3514 years ago
05:36And Prophet Keith Moore said
05:38I have no objection
05:39In agreeing
05:40That this Quran
05:41Is the word of almighty God
05:42And Prophet Muhammad
05:43Is the messenger of God
05:44Quran says in Surah Tariq
05:46Chapter 86
05:47Verse number 5 to 7
05:48Does not man think
05:50From what is created
05:51He is created from a drop
05:53Emitted
05:54From a space between the backbone and the ribs
05:57What does the Quran mean by saying
05:59That human beings have been created from a drop
06:01Emitted from a space
06:02Between the backbone and the ribs
06:03Today after science advance
06:05We have come to know
06:05That the genital organs
06:07In the human beings
06:08In the male
06:09That is the testes
06:10In the female the ovaries
06:12They initially develop
06:13In the embryonic age
06:15In a space
06:16Where the kidney is present
06:18Between the backbone and the ribs
06:19And later on
06:20It descends down
06:21In the male
06:22It descends via the
06:23Inguinal canal
06:24Into the scrotum
06:25And in the female
06:26It descends
06:27To the true pelvis
06:28Even after the descent
06:30In the adult life
06:31After the child is born
06:33Yet
06:33They receive the blood supply
06:35And the nerve supply
06:36From the same space
06:38Where the kidney is present
06:39Between the backbone
06:40And the 11th and 12th rib
06:42And even the venous return
06:43Goes back to the same space
06:45Between the backbone
06:46And the 11th and 12th rib
06:48Quran says in Surah Mu'minun
06:49Chapter number 23
06:50Verse number 13
06:51And Surah Hajj
06:52Chapter number 22
06:53Verse number 5
06:53That we have created the human beings
06:55From Anutfah
06:56Anutfah in Arabic means
06:58A minute quantity of liquid
06:59Very small
07:00Today science tells us
07:02Out of the 300 million sperms
07:04Emitted
07:05In a normal ejaculation
07:06In a male
07:07Only one sperm is sufficient
07:09For fertilizing the ovum
07:11Which the Quran refers to
07:12As Nutfah
07:12Quran says in Surah Sajda
07:16Chapter number 32
07:17Verse number 8
07:17We have created the human beings
07:19From Solalah
07:20Solalah in Arabic means
07:21The best part of the whole
07:23The one sperm
07:24Out of the 300 million sperms
07:26Which fertilizes the ovum
07:28The Quran refers to as Solalah
07:30The best part of the whole
07:31The Quran says in Surah Insan
07:32Chapter number 79
07:33Verse number 2
07:34We have created the human beings
07:35From Nutfah in Amshaj
07:37A minute quantity of mingled fluid
07:39Beside the spermatic fluid
07:42There is a requirement of
07:43Sominal fluid
07:44And other fluids
07:44Which is responsible
07:45For the birth of the child
07:46The Quran says
07:48In Surah Az-Umur
07:49Chapter number 39
07:50Verse number 6
07:53That we have created the human beings
07:55In the womb of the mother
07:57In stages
07:58One after the other
07:59In three wheels of darkness
08:00When Professor Keith Moore
08:02Was shown this verse of the Quran
08:03He said
08:04That these three wheels of darkness
08:06Mentioned in the Quran
08:08Refers to the anterior abdominal wall
08:10It refers to the uterine wall
08:12And the amniocorionic membrane
08:14Imagine what science came to know recently
08:18Quran mentioned 14 years ago
08:20We have created the human beings
08:22In the womb of the mother
08:24In stages
08:25One after the other
08:25In three wheels of darkness
08:27In the field of genetics
08:28Today science tells us
08:30That the human beings
08:32Have got 23 pairs of chromosomes
08:34And the 23rd pair of chromosome
08:36Is responsible for the sex of the child
08:39If it's XX
08:40It's a female
08:41If it's XY
08:42Then it's a male
08:43And today science tells us
08:46It is the male
08:47Sperm
08:48Which decifers the sex of the child
08:51If the X of the male
08:53Takes part in fertilization
08:55Then a female is born
08:56If the Y of the male sperm
08:58Takes part in fertilization
08:59Then a male is born
09:01So it is the male fluid
09:03The sperm
09:03Which decifers the sex of the child
09:05And this is exactly what the Quran says
09:0714 years ago
09:08It's mentioned in Surah Najam
09:09Chapter number 54
09:11Verse number 45
09:1246
09:12It says
09:13We have created the human beings
09:15From a minute quantity of liquid
09:16Gushing forth from a male
09:18And then gave it sexes male and female
09:20That big word is
09:21Sumna
09:22Gushing forth from a male
09:23The Quran says in Surah Qiyama
09:26Chapter number 75
09:27Verse number 37 to 39
09:28That we have created the human beings
09:31From a minute quantity of sperm
09:32From a minute quantity of sperm
09:32Minute quantity of sperm
09:36Then made it into an alaka
09:38Then made the alaka into mudga
09:40Then gave it sex male and female
09:42The Quran says
09:43It is a minute quantity of sperm
09:45Which is responsible for the sex of the child
09:47The country where I come from India
09:49People
09:50For reasons best known to them
09:52They prefer having sons
09:54Rather than daughters
09:55So if a daughter-in-law
09:56Gives birth to a daughter
09:58Many a time
10:00The mother-in-law will blame the daughter-in-law
10:03Why did you give birth to a daughter
10:04Why didn't you give birth to a son
10:06Whether it's son or a daughter
10:08It's in the hands of Allah
10:09Subhanahu wa ta'ala
10:09Almighty God
10:10But according to Quran
10:11And according to
10:12The science
10:14If you have to blame anyone
10:15You have to blame the son
10:17Not the daughter-in-law
10:18Because the male is responsible
10:19For the sex of the child
10:21Not the female
10:21Quran says
10:26In Surah Insan
10:27Chapter number 76
10:29Verse number 2
10:30That we have given the human beings
10:32The faculty of hearing and sight
10:34Today science tells us
10:36The first sense to develop
10:38In the human being
10:39It is the sense of hearing
10:41At the fifth month of pregnancy
10:45A child is able to hear
10:47And in the seventh month
10:49The eyes pit open
10:50First comes hearing
10:51Then comes sight
10:52That's the reason
10:54The psychologists tell us
10:56That you should not see
10:57Horror movie
10:58When a lady is pregnant
11:00It can damage your child
11:01You should not do wrong things
11:02And that's what the hadith says
11:05That you have to read the Quran
11:06It helps your child
11:07There was a survey done
11:10That newborn children
11:12Taken from ten mothers
11:14Newborn children
11:15One child belonged
11:17To a mother who was a typist
11:19That was 30-40 years back
11:21Where there were manual typewriters
11:22And the remaining nine
11:24Were from normal mothers
11:25After they were born
11:27And when the typewriter was sounded
11:28Nine children
11:30From those ten were scared
11:32But the child
11:33Which belonged to a typist
11:34He wasn't scared
11:36Because he was used to hearing
11:38The typewriter
11:38In the womb of the mother
11:39So Quran says
11:42First comes the sense of hearing
11:44Then comes sight
11:46The times of hearing
11:48The time of hearing
11:50It's a nurse
11:50For the first time
11:51The next person
11:52Is that the answer
11:53To the child
11:54To the first time
11:55Or the next person
11:55In the womb of the mother
