00:00Khalil al-Faram is a tailor in Gaza City.
00:03Supplies are hard to find and not many people have money for clothes.
00:08He fears being forced to leave will make things even worse.
00:12He was one of many who were displaced during Israel's first invasion of the city at the start of the war.
00:18Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, says Gaza City is a Hamas stronghold
00:23and now plans to occupy the city, forcing everyone out again.
00:30If Netanyahu decided to enter Gaza, occupy it and establish military rule,
00:34he won't leave any people here. Everyone will be expelled.
00:38We'll be no different from other people.
00:40We will leave and everything we are currently working on will be abandoned, just like we left it before.
00:48Although Gaza City is under Israeli bombardment,
00:51tens of thousands of people displaced from the north and east have gone there.
00:56Most of the Gaza Strip is already controlled by Israel.
01:01The new plans would further reduce the spaces where people would be forced to go.
01:05You just can't feel good.
01:09When you hear they want to reoccupy the area, you can no longer sleep.
01:14The anxiety is constant.
01:17You're responsible for children and women,
01:20with no means to evacuate.
01:22Even if we agreed to move,
01:24what would transportation cost?
01:28They say there's no room in Han Yunus and Rafa is destroyed.
01:32Where will we go?
01:33Nusrat and Diyar al-Bala, they're overcrowded too.
01:36It's difficult there and here.
01:38So we stay.
01:39Why be displaced?
01:41Struggling to survive Israel's continuing attacks and blockade
01:45leaves little time to consider the future.
01:48Some who do would like to see a role for the Fatah Party-dominated Palestinian Authority,
01:54which has limited governance in some parts of the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
02:01We tried Hamas and the experience was bad.
02:05We tried the Palestinian Authority and the situation was better.
02:08We hope they will return to power here.
02:11We do not want to try new people.
02:15We knew them and lived with them.
02:17Lived a dignified life at the time.
02:19They must return to Gaza again.
02:23We demand that Hamas leaders stop the bloodshed
02:26because we, as a people, have exhausted everything we have.
02:30We have no other choice.
02:35Gaza is lost between different parties who want to rule.
02:39All we ask for is security.
02:41Whether it's Fatah or Hamas,
02:43we, as people, are asking for security,
02:45for food, for water and medical care,
02:48for our children, youth and elderly.
02:51It's all we ask for.
02:52Security.
02:54Nothing more.
02:56Netanyahu says he won't allow the Palestinian Authority to govern Gaza.
03:01Taylor Al-Faram says an Israeli takeover of Gaza City
03:05would displace people again,
03:07leaving them with nothing.
03:09We cannot rebuild our lives with anything that could be a source of income,
03:13not to be rich, just to cover food and drink expenses.
03:17As soon as we begin, they come to tell us to leave again.
03:21Despite his concerns,
03:23the tailor continues to make clothes for the kids around him
03:26for as long as he can,
03:28and while he still has material and thread to work with.
03:44Doctor Thomas.
