00:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the UK, the Cotswolds, the Frogmill, and the wedding of Jamie and Carl.
00:14When Jamie and I first started planning our wedding, we knew we'd either keep it really small or go really big.
00:21But the more we talked about it, the more people we wanted to invite and include in our special day, so we decided to go really big.
00:30Jamie had over 30 guests flying in from Canada, I had my UK friends and family, and then, since Jamie and I met on the Iceland group tour, we decided to invite the entire tour group to the wedding.
00:45But also, whilst Jamie and I were doing the long-distance relationship, a lot of the significant time we spent together was on other adventures around the world, and so we decided to invite the entire community of travel friends we'd made over the last few years.
01:02And in the spirit of going big, I decided to have not one, not two, but five best men.
01:13There was my two older brothers, Tim and Rob, Adam, who I'd been best friends with since I was four years old, Chris, who was going to be performing the ceremony for us, and then, of course, James.
01:23We were getting married at the Frog Mill in the Cotswolds, and the venue perfectly combined our love for cosy British country pubs with the scale to host a big, beautiful wedding.
01:39I remember standing at the front before the ceremony, and James asked me, are you nervous?
01:44And I was like, no, not at all.
01:45I just couldn't wait to get started.
01:47We all have the privilege of being here as active participants in the largest, most exuberant, multi-phased, intercontinental wedding that you've done.
02:07It's a big deal.
02:08We begin with a declaration of intent, so Jamie, let's start with you.
02:11Do you, Jamie, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?
02:17That was I do.
02:20And do you, Carl, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?
02:23I do.
02:25At this stage, it's good that we're on the same page.
02:27Good.
02:28So, Jamie and Carl have chosen to write their own vows, so please prepare your tissues as I invite Jamie to state her vows to Carl.
02:36Hi.
02:36Hi.
02:38No one signs up for a relationship with someone who lives on the other side of the planet and thinks, yeah,
02:47that's a great idea.
02:49Whether we are together or apart, you remind me every day that you are the person that I am supposed to be with.
02:58Because the truth is that I didn't fall in love with you in some exotic location or on some crazy adventure.
03:06I fell in love with you in the little moments, in laughing about each other's days or in sending each other pictures of the sky at sunset or how much you care about the people in your life.
03:25How good of a friend you are, how good of a brother, how good of a son.
03:32I fell in love with your enthusiasm and joy for life and how you jump into everything with both feet and how when I'm with you, everything feels like it's possible.
03:46I know that my life with you is just better with you in it.
03:53And I love you so much.
03:57I hope you write something good.
03:58There's no person in the world I'd rather share my life with, from the biggest adventures to the smallest moments.
04:06I love how much we make each other laugh.
04:07I love how much we have in common, but also give each other space.
04:11I love how unbelievably supportive you are.
04:13And I've never known anyone as thoughtful and as kind as you are.
04:18And anytime I look into your eyes, I feel safe.
04:22I feel happiness.
04:23I feel loved.
04:24And I know I'm with my soulmate.
04:27When I proposed to you, I explained that I thought I led a happy life before we met.
04:32But it turned out being with you unlocked a whole other level of happiness I never realized was possible.
04:38And I said to you, if you let me, I will spend every day for the rest of my life trying to make you as happy as you make me.
04:46That's a promise I make to you today.
04:48You deserve the absolute best.
04:51You are the love of my life.
04:52And as we grow all together, my love will always remain as strong for you as it is today.
05:02So in front of your closest friends and family from all corners of the world, it's my honor to pronounce you husband and wife.
05:09Jamie, you may now kiss the husband.
05:10Me and Howie, sir.
05:24Yeah.
05:27Woo!
05:30After the ceremony, everyone just chilled in the beer garden, enjoying some food and drinks whilst we took our photos.
05:38And there was music provided by my friend Stephen, who I actually met in Queenstown on my very first backpacking trip in New Zealand way back in 2006.
05:46We'll see you next time.
06:16What I'm going to do is introduce one of the co-maid of honours.
06:27Please welcome Lauren.
06:30I'm so excited to be here today to celebrate Jamie and Carl.
06:34And I feel a little pressure because Carl came up to me yesterday and told me that my speech cannot suck.
06:39So I will do my best today.
06:42I have known Jamie for 25 years and it's quite literally impossible to put 25 years of friendship into a 45 minute speech.
06:50But although I cannot talk for 45 minutes, I will try to keep it shorter.
06:56When Jamie left for England for first year university, we knew right then she was going to marry a British boy while traveling.
07:03But it's likely a relief for Judy and Daryl that she did not because she was 18 at the time.
07:08So almost 20 years later, you still met a British boy while traveling and seeing you and Carl together, I'd say it was well worth the wait.
07:17Carl, you are the perfect complement to Jamie.
07:20You have explored the world independently and together.
07:24And you have fully embraced moving to Winnipeg.
07:26So that means you really must love her.
07:27And you have seamlessly jetted into our group of friends.
07:35Jamie, I have had the opportunity to watch you grow, change and evolve into the incredible woman that stands before us today.
07:43I'm honored to call you my best friend.
07:46You're a beautiful person inside and out.
07:49And I'm so happy, so happy that you have found your person.
07:53To the bride and groom.
07:57I don't know about anyone else, but I would really hate to have to follow such an amazing speech.
08:04I'll keep this short and sweet.
08:05The approach Carl has always adopted.
08:09Unlike Lauren, I think I have the opposite problem with talking about Carl.
08:12I've got to fill five minutes of material of stuff that he hasn't already put out on Facebook or YouTube or Instagram.
08:20So I thought, actually, the answer's simple here.
08:23Let's just delve into the comments on Carl's YouTube channel.
08:30I turned to the comments on the Canadian Rockies tour from eight years ago.
08:34A couple of quotes here.
08:35I enjoy watching your videos, but I can't help but notice you drink every evening, lol.
08:41Not judging, just observing.
08:42I think they were judging.
08:46Several people, more than one, several people commented that he had incorrectly identified moose excrement as that of a bear.
08:54Clearly, this is an egregious error in Canadian culture.
08:59And finally, and most worryingly, Carl has a stalker who fantasizes about his legs.
09:04And I'll quote again, legs look great on this trip.
09:13And you've kept it up in all your future videos.
09:16I've already watched.
09:20That was from a Richard Parker.
09:23So no need to worry there, Jamie.
09:25I've only known Jamie for a short period of time.
09:29But let me just say this.
09:30I have, right from the start, seen the warmth and all the great qualities that Carl sees in you.
09:35And I've no doubt that you'll make him incredibly happy.
09:38The fact that you're a lawyer is also something I naturally approve of.
09:43So as the now former lawyer to Carl, his Michael Cohen, if you will.
09:47I now pass that baton on to you, Jamie.
09:54And when I say baton, I mean a box of NDAs.
09:58With that, let me just raise one of the many toasts that we'll make today to Carl and Jamie.
10:08It is our pleasure to introduce for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Watson.
10:17It is time for the mother and father of the bride speech.
10:37You can just feel it in the air in this room.
10:40There's a positivity, a sense of goodwill, like something that could not be imagined.
10:47It has to be for real.
10:49Jamie, she decided she was going to go to Iceland.
10:53The April following that trip, Jamie went to England to go to the premiere of the Iceland film.
11:01And Jamie sent me a picture from England.
11:04Just a picture of Jamie sitting in the sunshine and the most amazing smile on her face.
11:10This was a smile that made me say, she's with somebody.
11:24And lo and behold, when we picked her up from the airport, she said, I think I found somebody.
11:31But I said, you know, is he a good man?
11:38She said, I'm not sure.
11:44Anyway, the two of you, you're just the real deal.
11:49You're solid people and you care so much about each other.
11:52And it's so obvious.
11:54And I'm so happy for you both.
11:56To me, parenthood will be an unqualified success if, as an adult, we can still say to Jamie,
12:03with the ease that we now do, I love you.
12:05And Jamie can feel and say the same.
12:11So from a young and then hopeful father, words expressed now by a somewhat older, more experienced father,
12:25whose hopes have been fulfilled in spades.
12:28We are so thrilled at everything leading up to today.
12:33And going forward, you know that Judy and I will be there to help you, to follow you.
12:42We'll be there for you as the years go by, as you continue on this most adventurous journey that we call life.
12:50And now I need a hug, most desperately.
12:58After the wedding breakfast, our evening guests arrived, and so it was time for the duck race.
13:15Ready to duck race!
13:18Your ducks in three, two, one, let's get ducking!
13:28The winners of the duck race were presented with their prizes, a set of Lord of the Rings rubber ducks.
13:58And then, everyone made their way back into the mill room for the evening party to begin.
14:13We've had a lot of compliments from our vows earlier.
14:18Remember that, because this we're just going to wing.
14:20When we first talked about having a wedding, it was really a no-brainer.
14:25We're going to fucking go for it.
14:27We want to be in this big, beautiful room with all of you beautiful people who we love so much.
14:33And it's so exciting for us to be here.
14:36Yes.
14:39Each and every single one of you here is here because you mean something to us.
14:43And we want to just thank you for being here with us tonight.
14:48Everybody!
14:48Woo!
14:48The reason we're here, though, beyond everything else, is we have to thank our parents.
14:55When I was growing up as a kid, my dad drove me to every single one of my guitar lessons every week,
15:00which I don't think Tim and Rob want to thank him for.
15:03But I appreciate that nonetheless.
15:05And we'll see if you want to thank him for it tonight.
15:08Little preview.
15:09Hey!
15:10Oh, will we?
15:11But yes, thank you.
15:12I can't see him, but yes.
15:14Thank you so much tonight.
15:15I really appreciate you being here today.
15:16I love you guys.
15:18I feel so lucky to be able to call my mom one of my best friends.
15:22There's only as many people that can do that.
15:23When we were back in Switzerland last summer, there was a lot of people there just coming up to them.
15:28I'm like, oh, Carl, I saw your video.
15:30And then they would see mom like, oh, my God.
15:34You're an inspiration.
15:35I didn't give a shit about me.
15:37I just wanted to talk to mom.
15:38I love you so much, mom.
15:39We're going to have more adventures together.
15:41So I give that to my mom.
15:42Woo!
15:42Woo!
15:42Woo!
15:43I have the absolute best parents in the world.
15:47Thank you so much.
15:48And I would love for everyone to give a huge round of applause for my mom and dad, Judy and Daryl.
15:53I love you so much.

16:37Woo!
16:38October 2nd. She's horrified. 2021. And I quote, and six A's, I already have a bit of a travel
16:47crush. Ha ha. Accent points. And then this guy. Having known Jamie my entire life, I knew that
16:55this yam was different. It was not a one night love affair. It's the first of many Brian Adams
17:02references placed in this speech. Solely for you might be reckless. Please forgive me. Everything
17:08I do, I do it for laughs. All right, Jamie, here we go, buddy. I truly don't know life without you
17:20in it. Being a nerdy musical theater kid would have been so lonely without you. And I hold memories
17:26from our friendship so close to my heart. The countless times we sang songs from Moulin Rouge
17:31or the entire rent libretto and still know who sings which parts to every song. For example,
17:38the filmmaker cannot see. And the songwriter cannot hear. Yet I see me, me everywhere. And his voice
17:49is in my ears. That's mid-second verse, okay? We have it down and take requests. I didn't know
17:59that was going to happen. Jamie, we've evolved through so many different versions of ourselves
18:04and we've been each other's constant through every era. Subtle lost reference. I'm totally
18:10cool with you having a new constant in Carl now, but our history together is something
18:14that will forever just be ours. You got that, buddy?
18:16to Jamie and Carl. I'll just, like, sadly clean up all of my stuff. Honestly, just leave
18:28it. We've got it. We've got a guy for that. Speaking of which, thank you, Vanessa. That
18:35was beautiful. I would hate to be following that one up. How to introduce our next speaker.
18:46James Walsh, everyone. Now, they say you should never meet your heroes, but Carl met me at university
18:5822 years ago. Ever since I've known Carl, he's always been a bit of a geek. He's 40 years
19:06old. He still collects kids' toys. He has a passion for making video and filming. I can
19:14see he's filming me right now. Hopefully, he'll put the camera down for the wedding night.
19:19Oh, he's just going to save that for his patrons. At Carl Watson, OnlyFans. He's got lots
19:37of pictures of his feet. He has a passion for blockbuster movies and old school rock. From
19:48this passion, Carl always knew one day he was going to marry a Canadian. Only thing that's
19:56come as a surprise is that he's not marrying his idol, Brian Adams. Now, the first time I met Carl
20:05at university, he introduced himself as, hi, I'm Carl. I had a 69 with Brian.
20:11Being ignorant to the music of Brian Adams, I didn't know what summer 69 was, but Carl assured
20:22me it was not a sexual thing. However, just like Gollum and Carl's favorite movie, Lord of the
20:33Rings, the Rings. Carl got a taste of Brian's ring. And ever since that day, Carl's been chasing
20:43his pressures around the world, hoping one day they would settle together in Canada. Fortunately
20:52for Brian, Carl met Jamie. But I know, just like Frodo in Carl's favorite movie, Lord of the Rings,
21:03Carl's been on an epic quest, traveling the world, trying to find his true presence. I know
21:09this, because just like Sam, I've been there, carrying him on the back. So, in Jamie, Carl's
21:23found his true pressures. Please raise a glass to the bride and groom, Carl and Jamie.
21:32We had live music in the evening from my mate Stu, who I've been playing in bands with ever
21:45since we were kids. And then, the inevitable happened, where I got on stage to play a couple
21:54songs with the band.
22:24Outro music playing.
22:26The new song.
22:36The new song.
22:43The new song.
22:46The new song.
26:50Mark and Roddy, Jamie's colleagues and friends and the most epic events management duo, who acted as our day off coordinators as a wedding gift to us.
26:57And they went so far above and beyond, like Mark even jumped into the river to rescue some stray ducks.
27:03Oh my God, Chris, who performed our ceremony for us and kept it short, sweet and funny.
27:12And he also provided us with Nick, our cameraman for the day, who absolutely crushed it.
27:16And then my mate Steve, our wedding photographer, who captured such beautiful pictures for us.
27:24And my mate Phil, who took some amazing shots as well.
27:34There's my good friends Michael and Simon, who built from scratch our bar top guest book, and they shipped it to Canada for us.
27:43And it's now waiting to be installed in the pub we are building in our basement.
27:47More on that to come in the future.
27:49Thank you to Stu, Luke and Harry for entertaining everyone with their fantastic performance.
27:56And Jay and Matt, our two compares, who not only did a great job on the day, but also put on an amazing pub quiz the night before the wedding.
28:03And it's shocking that Carl couldn't identify moose shit when he's usually pretty full of shit.
28:08So, you know, that's just Carl.
28:11Of course, we have to thank Jamie's bridesmaids and bride boys.
28:14Thank you so much for all the effort, love and support, not just on a day, but throughout our relationship.
28:20The idea of existing without you is absolutely untenable.
28:25I love you so much.
28:31And thank you to my best men.
28:32All five of them, it meant the world to me to have you all play such a special part in our wedding.
28:37He's the best friend you could ever ask for.
28:39You can rely on him for anything.
28:41He's got a heart of gold and he truly is like a brother to me.
28:45And I love you.
28:50To our parents, who helped us out and supported us so much with the wedding,
28:54we literally couldn't have done it without you.
28:56I'm so happy to be part of the family now.
28:58Thank you so much.
28:58I love you both so much.
29:02And finally, to all of our guests who traveled from near and very, very far,
29:11thank you for your love and friendship and for quite simply making this the best day of our lives.
29:16And of course, to my wife, Jamie, thank you for all the incredible effort you put into organizing our wedding.
29:27Like, you really pushed it and made it go up to a whole other level and just made it such an unforgettable experience for everyone.
29:33I just love doing life with you.
29:35I'm so excited for our future together and I love you so much.
29:39You're my favorite person in the entire world.
29:40I can't believe that we're here and I can't believe that we get to spend the rest of our lives together.
29:45That's it.
29:45I love you.
29:48I don't know what I've done to deserve you in my life.
29:52I genuinely don't.
29:53I'm just loving and giving everything you deserve because I'm just bawling away my completely.
29:58Oh.
29:58I'm so sorry.
29:59Oh.
30:16Oh.
30:20Oh.
30:24Oh.
30:26Oh.
30:27Oh.
30:27Oh.
30:28Hi everyone, I just wanted to tag on a little extra thank you at the end of this video to say thank you to you guys because it's no word of a lie or exaggeration to say that if you hadn't liked the videos and supported the channel over the years, then Jamie and I would never have met.
30:44You know, before the wedding, I hadn't initially planned to share the wedding video on the channel. I was just going to keep it for us and for the guests, but one, it came out so good, but two, you guys were a part of this story as well, so we've got to share it with you.
30:56So thank you for watching all this time, and I love this sort of community of travelers we've built up. I mean, you could probably make a little drinking game out of our wedding video about all the people you recognize from different videos.
31:06Normal service will be resuming on the channel very soon. I'm just finishing up the Africa series, and Jamie and I just got back from New Zealand from our honeymoon, and that'll be a two-part series as we did a road trip around both islands.
31:17So if you want to continue supporting this channel, then keep watching, keep liking, keep sharing, keep letting everybody know about it, and then if you want to go a step further, you can sign up to the Patreon or the YouTube membership.
31:29And I have had a few people message me saying how they can send us a wedding gift, which is incredibly generous, but I'll just casually leave the PayPal link right there.
31:38But thank you so much for everything you've done for us, guys. We really appreciate it, and lots more adventures to come, so we'll see you again very soon.
31:46We'll see you again.
