00:00All right, Vinny, over at SportingNews.com, I know you are fast and furious trying to watch
00:04every NFL preseason game. I mean, I don't even know how you do it. I watched some of the games
00:09that were on the NFL Network and then some of the replays as well, but I thought there were several
00:13really strong rookie performances this past week and especially surprising coming from three
00:18different quarterbacks. Yeah, we have to watch Jackson Dart for sure. I mean, I don't know how
00:23long Russell Wilson can keep that job for sure. I mean, I don't see it. I mean, I'm surprised that
00:29they're not opening it up with him and Jameis Winston a little bit more, but when you have
00:33those two veterans that might cancel each other out and you want to see the future, and keep in
00:37mind the clock is ticking for Brian Dable. He's got to see what he can do with Jackson Dart and that
00:42upside sooner rather than later to try to save his job because, again, there's going to be a lot of
00:46pressure there for the Giants to at least be a little bit improved. So he looked pretty good
00:50there, and Cam Ward looked solid. I mean, he had some jitters on that first drive when they went
00:55three and out and missed a couple passes that he could have hit, but second drive,
00:59he settled in and looked more comfortable with that offense. And we'll see how things play out
01:04with some of these rookie situations. I mean, I'm interested also to see what we got the Saints.
01:11Is Tyler Shuck actually going to be the starter? He was a little bit behind Spencer Rattler in
01:15training camp, but it looks like he did what he might need to do there and shows arm, which the
01:20other quarterbacks do not have in New Orleans to get the job. And then Jalen Mirro, he's not going to
01:25start. But watch for him if he can get that number two job ahead of Drew Locke.
01:30Then that controversy is going to come if Sam Darnold falters a little bit in the new offense.
01:35Milner, I thought, did what he could. I mean, he used his arm, he used his legs, and showed what
01:39we saw in Alabama.
01:40I think the other player that caught everybody's attention this weekend, and again,
01:46smaller market, but Jacksonville Jaguars, Vinny, to see, I mean, honestly, I would say it's fair
01:51to say Travis Hunter pulled it off at the very least. I mean, I don't know. It was fantastic.
01:56I mean, he didn't get targeted, so it was really hard to determine whether or not he could break
02:01up a pass or make a pick or anything like that. But he did take 11 snaps on offense, made a couple
02:05of catches, and then did get his defensive snaps in. So I do wonder, as time goes on,
02:11is this actually going to happen?
02:13Yeah, I think they might need it to happen for their help on defense and on offense. They
02:18definitely need an offense. And if you're going to say where the snaps might lean in a combined
02:23pool of snaps, maybe 40 to 50 a game, something like that, then you would say a good chunk of that
02:2960% is probably going to be on offense because they need him. And he was out there for a limited
02:34number of plays, but he was targeted on 25% of them. So they need it because they need somebody
02:39to deflect some coverage away from Brian Thomas Jr. He's a natural fit for the outside. They
02:44have some different options for the slot. So they kind of need him as a number two more
02:48so than the corner. The one thing we did see, unfortunately, his highlight on defense was
02:52getting run over by Caleb Johnson. So maybe run defense is going to be a little bit behind
02:57here. But in terms of not seeing any targets, we have to see that, right? When quarterback
03:02picks on him to see what he can do in coverage. And I'm sure we'll see that sooner rather than
03:06later. And he'll probably be a big play coming after that.
