Cardiff City have netted 2 goals in their first two League One matches, averaging one per game. Rubin Colwill scored a superb free-kick to cancel out Peterborough’s opener, and teenager Ronan Kpakio grabbed the winner in that 2–1 victory.
Their follow-up outing ended goalless at Port Vale, leaving them with a modest but stable start to the campaign.

00:00for Cardiff City they are now the lowest ranked of the three big Welsh clubs of course we're not
00:08counting Newport in that but in terms of Wrexham, Cardiff and Swansea City Cardiff now sat in League
00:14One with Wrexham and Swansea both in the championship so it's it's not a good period
00:18at the moment for the Bluebirds but they did start their League One season with a win so
00:24positive vibes a little bit now at the Cardiff City Stadium obviously this is a season of perhaps
00:31transition for them after what was a very disappointing relegation from the championship
00:34last season Brian Barry Murphy certainly has a big task on his hands to try and get Cardiff back up
00:41to the championship once again but they've been busy in the transfer market of course I think they
00:47had to be Bridges had to once again be built between the club and its supporters after a lot of them
00:53were probably burnt and completely destroyed after what was as mentioned a really disappointing year
00:58last season that's all Cardiff relegated from the championship but this season they just have to
01:04win games and show the supporters that this is a functional club once again they can't be
01:10anywhere near the sort of damage club that they were last season to find out exactly where they're at
01:17let's go to Charles Higg Jones so Charles after their open day win for Cardiff City where they're at
01:23going into the season and the rest of the season can they be successful under Brian Barry Murphy or is it
01:30going to be too much of a transition for them this year to to to see them promoted and will this season
01:36be a one of consolidation and making sure that the club is on a level footing or will they actually
01:43you know be good enough to go up once again what are your thoughts
01:47yeah for Cardiff City obviously um you know for a bit of context I've obviously got Brian Barry Murphy
01:55who was mentioned on a three-year deal um he's energetic he's ambitious we saw in game week one
02:01he's put a lot of trust already into the youth that Cardiff City the average age against Posh in their
02:06opening league one game their victory at home was 22 years of age on average that's incredible
02:13um you know let's be honest this is a side who are far too good for league one in my opinion can
02:21they sustain it can they remain competitive though that's the question and um you know finished bottom
02:27last season with 44 points was you know terrible involving three managerial changes as well they're
02:34hoping now Brian Barry Murphy is the man to take them forward um I mean his early record before he
02:41joined you know a handful of wins and draws but limited transfer activity um is likely as well
02:47that you know cautious optimism that he can implement a good style for Cardiff City I think that's the main
02:53point that he has to get across he has to implement a style that Cardiff City are going to be interested in
02:59playing these players are going to believe in a project um and drop down from certain divisions to
03:04go and ensure that they are involved um with the club um I think you know from Carly's fan
03:11perspective they're interested in seeing a bit of a fresh sort of start a new beginning and it looks
03:16like Brian Barry Murphy is that man going forward he obviously said in multiple of his interviews how
03:21Vincent Tan has a massive part to play and he's very sure look you're coming in you've got a big job to do
03:28you've got to sort of revitalise the entire club and we want to go right back up to the championship
03:34for the first time of asking I mean that is clearly the ambition um it's an exciting group what it lacks
03:41maybe at the moment is that style how long that's going to take for Barry Murphy um it's going to be
03:47interesting obviously you've got big clubs down there competing also for promotion um back up to the
03:54championship you know this is the goal this is the where they want to be can they sustain it over a
03:59long season when we get to December and you know the tougher months of the season where it's very
04:03cold and and a lot changes that you know the climate and the sort of race for the top you know you always
04:10have some late emerges as well come for that that late playoff charge so I think as I can see them as
04:15it stands obviously little investment in the summer as well but they have managed to keep a few key
04:20assets that's a big uh talking point for Cardiff City um I can probably you know I think they'll
04:27get top six can they get over the line in the playoffs that's the biggest question to answer
04:31but Brian Barry Murphy has made a good start and um yeah this is this is where Cardiff City are now
04:38they need to embrace it believe in the project and hopefully make a quick return to the championship
04:43they need to embrace it you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you
