00:00Business owners along South Australia's coast are continuing to grapple with the devastating effects of the algal bloom.
00:10We haven't taken a tour in months and there's no problem with what we have down here.
00:15It's not just one business herding, it's everyone.
00:17The State Government's Algal Bloom Small Business Support Grant has started to kick in.
00:23We've already had five applications approved, four of which have received their funds.
00:29There's another 16 applications that are being processed that hopefully will be completed in the next few days.
00:35But earlier this week the opposition criticised the Government's criteria for affected businesses to seek financial support.
00:43There are businesses that are hurting in my electorate that have been hurt from this algal bloom that were expecting support that are not getting support.
00:52The Premier says some exemptions will be made.
00:55Criteria is always a difficult thing because wherever you draw a line someone will fall afoul of it.
01:00But what we've actually done is embedded a process that allows for exemptions to be made.
01:05Community forums are continuing to be held to remind South Australians to keep supporting local businesses and to eat local produce.
01:14The one thing we can all do more than anything is to make sure we continue to be good customers in South Australia supporting those businesses that shouldn't be impacted by the algal bloom.
01:25The forums which are being held at several of the State's affected beachside suburbs and towns are attracting hundreds of residents who want to learn more about the natural disaster affecting their day to day lives.
