00:00welcome back to the channel everybody welcome back to the vlog if you happen
00:05to be stopping it for the very first time my name is Chuck I am a LTL driver
00:10for a company called Estes Express here's one of our LT's next to me here
00:14I'm in the line haul division of what we call the extra board side of it where I
00:21I leave my home terminal on Tuesday evenings Tuesday night and then I
00:26usually return home you know pre-dawn Sunday morning Saturday usually Saturday
00:31night I'm headed back home so we're gone from our homes for four days five nights
00:37is the way I look at it and then you know usually about two and a half days off or
00:42so but we are here in Memphis Tennessee and last night I came from Tulsa down
00:52here to Memphis I went up to Jackson Tennessee which is only about 80 miles
00:55away and then brought some freight back to Memphis and now they've got me
01:00planned there on a van which is nice or what we call a 53 foot trailer going
01:10from here to Fort Worth Texas so it's like 505 miles somewhere in there so
01:18that's probably gonna take a full drive shift even though I can do more miles than
01:21that unless they have something there Fort Worth going over to Dallas or
01:25something like that maybe I might be able to pick up something there at the
01:28very end to shuttle over there but you know we're gonna hit that Dallas traffic
01:32at that time but we'll kind of see what what happens when we get there this is the
01:37first time I've been to the Fort Worth terminal in a long time I did cover a bid
01:41run out of our terminal that went down to Fort Worth last year a lot has changed in
01:47that terminal they're no longer a hub so there's not as many people that get
01:52crammed into there so yeah that's going to be it this is kind of nice when you
01:57have a real long trip like this versus maybe hitting multiple terminals in a
02:02night this one you know you I'm probably gonna drive 250 miles maybe 300 miles I'll
02:08probably stop take my 30 minute break at a loves and then journey on to to Fort
02:13Worth try to get there now I'll probably leave it's 8 11 now it's probably gonna be
02:17nine o'clock before I get over the terminal get out of there because I'll be able to
02:20hook up pretty quick so yes I know idle shut down but but yeah I tried to get
02:28my truck worked on the preventive maintenance is due on at the PM but all
02:34these shops I called the Dallas shop I I went and talked to the guys here at
02:39Memphis they're all like 35 trucks you know waiting to be taken care of so my
02:45looks like I'm gonna my truck is gonna be gone next week it's it's scheduled to go
02:49up to Kansas City on Monday so all of next week I don't know what I'll be
02:53driving so we'll see what happens there we don't have dedicated you know spares at
03:00our terminal so sometimes you just got to take a twin screw whatever is
03:04available but I try to bring you along when I can so you can kind of see what
03:08this journey is like this is a typical time that you would get out of a terminal
03:12between nine and ten is pretty common you know my ten hours was up like at seven
03:18o'clock but you know sometimes you gotta wait for the city and the freight and
03:22everything else to get loaded and and then at that point you can get going so
03:26guys we'll see you along the journey here all right we got our paperwork here our
03:31trailers right over here according to the GPS here

04:08right there she is having the trailer locator ability for the vast majority of
04:23our equipment is such a lifesaver I mean it is there I remember right there was
04:35times when I first when I've done line haul in the past we didn't have this
04:39capability and you would have to just go literally drive around this whole yard
04:43looking for and you go to these massive yards like Dallas or you know Memphis or
04:51Juliet or you know st. Louis or something like that you could be there for a long
04:56time looking for your equipment this right here makes everything so much faster I
05:02did forget my gloves guys so I'm having to wipe my hands down every time I get in
05:10the
05:13get in the truck
05:32now I always put one of these in underneath my pigtail there because it
05:54sometimes there's some gap in that that thing will lean down a little bit you'll
05:57lose some connection
06:04good locked in around check everything you shout out to the guy that I met and I
06:13try not to mention people's names or you know I seen it you know if I see their
06:17names on their shirts or something but he's a gentleman that has been with us
06:23since November and he came over because of the videos that he watched of mine and
06:30also Chris over it freight hauler 87 he said you know I was OTR and
06:37he was this has been the best change because I'm loving it and I said you know
06:47you're you're you're exactly the reason why me and Chris make the videos that we
06:53make make sure all the cross members are good nothing's really been up down there
06:59anything like that and so yeah constantly meeting people at the terminals that say
07:09Chuck you know I appreciate you and Chris making those videos and you know
07:17yes we make them for entertainment but we also make them because we want to
07:23help people
07:28we got everything set out we're self-dispatch so I sent all the
07:32information in got the verification we're ready to rock and roll again we're
07:36gonna get there at 805 in the morning all right we're gonna get there in eight
07:39hours and five minutes at 507 a.m. but that's probably gonna be later next I'm
07:44gonna stop and take a 30 minute break so probably around 6 o'clock 630 we should
07:48be getting to the terminal there Fort Worth 501 miles it's 902 right now so yeah we
07:55did 584 miles yesterday we'll probably we may do I may get to Fort Worth they may
08:00send me over to Dallas if because I'm gonna have eight I'll have three hours so
08:06they may just send me they could send me to Oklahoma City from Fort Worth there's a
08:10couple of different places I can make it to but yeah all right guys we'll see y'all

08:34I can already tell it's a hundred times I used to come into this terminal and we'd
08:39have trailers parked out here on the out here on this main thoroughfare here this

13:03yeah three hours and ten minutes so I'm gonna shoot them a call see what we can
13:08do here all right we are ready to go we've got set up with some empty trailers
13:15that are going over to Dallas that's pretty common for them to do that when
13:22you come over here to Fort Worth just because there's a whole lot more freight
13:26over in Dallas because it's a brake bulb and so after my 10-hour break it's gonna
13:32be a whole lot easier to get me out of there going you know Houston San
13:35Antonio Albuquerque I mean there's all kinds of places I can go tomorrow when I
13:40get up
13:42all right we made it to our home away from home well we got several home away from home
14:07Dallas and Memphis seem to be our home away from home we visit these these
14:13terminals quite often now I've got this set of empties so when I get down here I'm
14:19gonna try to park them down here where this other set is down here if I can now
14:24if I can't then I'll take them around put them on the drop pad but put a note on it
14:33that they're empties which it looks like I should be able to because what this
14:38helps out has got people come through here and these trailers are either
14:43pass-throughs or they are empties so we'll put these put this right here
14:55all right that should have them out of the way somebody can grab these we're
15:13gonna go on break we're gonna start our 10-hour break and then basically what
15:23that will do is it will put me in a queue of drivers
15:53so what that will do is put me in a queue central dispatch knows what time I'm
16:13starting my break and they'll know how to what time they can kind of pre-plan me
16:21I'm gonna go over here and get some fuel we're down to yeah almost quarter tank
16:35and we're gonna hit the hotel already grabbed me some subway so I'll have some
16:53subway for breakfast kind of like Chris some of you may follow this channel he's
17:01all about that subway
17:09here's our fuel on we got two fuel islands here two big old fuel containers there so
17:18guys I think this is probably going to end this video want to thank you for coming
