Blackpool Air Show 2025.

00:00Thousands of spectators lined the seafront this afternoon in Blackpool to catch the spectacular
00:05Red Arrows as they opened the annual air show with a thunderous fly pass just after 2pm.
00:10We've come from Preston, we've not been here for about 11 years, we've brought our young
00:15son here, he's not interested anymore. Weather's really good, we're looking forward to the
00:22Red Arrows really, that's what we've come to see and the Typhoon, just today, just today,
00:27that's all we've got today.
00:28We're from Fleetwood, this is part of an annual event for us, we always come down on the
00:33tram early. The thing we most look forward to is the Typhoon, which is at the end of the
00:39day, this last couple of years, but the start of the show with the Red Arrows is always spectacular
00:45as well, and then it's nice to have some beers in some of the bars as well, it's just a great
00:51day out.
00:51And I've always really wanted to see the Red Arrows, so we just had a spare weekend, so
00:57we thought we'd come along.
00:58If you look to this one, we've been to Blackfield many times and Lytham sent arms, but we've
01:02never been to this show, but do. Yeah, if the wind's not like this, yeah, like everyone else,
01:09but it should all be really good. But I have a feeling some of them might not even perform.
01:14I don't think the wing walkers will perform. And as for the parachuters, I think they'll
01:21end up in Ireland.
01:25The Red Arrows, officially the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, have been performing since
01:291965 and are considered one of the world's premier display teams. Their displays combine
01:35closed formation flying, high speed passes and precision aerobatics, all rehearsed to the
01:40second to ensure safety and spectacle. Representing the skill and professionalism of the RAF, they
01:46perform both at home and overseas, using their trademark red, white and blue smoke to go to
01:52striking visual signature in the sky. Under bright skies and a light sea breeze, the Red Arrows
01:57performed a dazzling 20 minute display.
