00:00This season on Project Runway.
00:04I'm back!
00:07Your look walk out.
00:08I was like, the cervix is dilated and she's crowning.
00:12No tea, no shade, no pink lemonade.
00:15It's fashion's pierces competition.
00:18You have to bring it.
00:19It really is pushing the boundaries of fashion.
00:22She's badass and flirty at the same time.
00:25This is special.
00:26You have done something that a lot of people cannot do.
00:31And that is to shut me up.
00:33With designers that will stop at nothing to win.
00:36You're the most untalented designer.
00:41Done.
00:42Shut up.
00:42Oh shit.
00:43We're in fashion, supposed to be competitive.
00:45I'm gonna fight to be here.
00:46She is drama.
00:48It's gonna be cutthroat.
00:50Judges who aren't afraid to be brutally honest.
00:52No one would wear that outfit.
00:54The dress was a complete mess.
00:57Is that inspiring?
00:58I don't know how to handle this.
01:00Ugh!
01:00I'm not gonna do.
01:01I do not come to look at a bunch of ugly clothes.
01:04This is unwearable.
01:05This is so weird.
01:06It's a new house with new rules.
01:09Alright designers, that's time.
01:11You are still sewing?
01:12Mmm.
01:13I wanna go home.
01:14Are you nuts?
01:15I want this so bad.
01:16Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
01:19Ah!
01:20I wanna be on top.
01:21In fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
01:27For 12 designers, this is a chance of a lifetime.
01:31At stake for the winner is $200,000.
01:34Six months of representation from Agent 3 PR.
01:38A spread in Elle magazine.
01:40And a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:43This is Project Runway.
01:45And eyes on me!
01:48That's world!
01:51Let me spell it all.
01:52W-O-W-E.
01:54Let me spell it all.
01:56W-O-W-E.
01:57Wow!
01:58Wow!
02:00Oh shit.
02:01Yo!
02:03Yo, you on Project Runway for real?
02:06Welcome to Project Runway, a.k.a.
02:08The Joseph McCray Show.
02:09Ooh.
02:11Listen, it's Joseph McCray is one word.
02:13Do not break it up.
02:14First and last together.
02:16And that's it.
02:19Uh-oh.
02:20You got a designer and a model.
02:24I'm a tall bitch.
02:32Hey, Ziva.
02:33How are you? I'm Joseph McCray.
02:34I'm Ethan, but you may recognize me
02:37as Utica from RuPaul's Drag Race.
02:39You think I can eat that?
02:40Yeah, you can cue on it.
02:42Girl, this is crystals.
02:43Oh, we got another one.
02:45Hey, Ziva.
02:46How are you?
02:46Hola.
02:47Ethan, nice to meet you.
02:48Vijay.
02:49I'm Joseph McCray.
02:50Hi, Joseph.
02:51No, no, no, you got to say that first of all.
02:53Hi.
02:54Hold on, Vijay is Joseph McCray.
02:56Okay, Joseph, right?
02:57Joseph McCray.
02:57Joseph Mac.
02:59McCray.
02:59McCray.
03:00Don't even split it.
03:00Okay, Joseph McCray.
03:01Boom. Easy, right?
03:05Hola.
03:06Hi.
03:08I'm Joseph McCray.
03:09Hey.
03:10Madeline, nice to meet you.
03:11Madeline, pleasure.
03:12Hey.
03:13Hola.
03:14Hi.
03:15Bitches, I am back.
03:17Jesus, nice to meet you.
03:19I'm Jesus Estrada from Project Runway season seven.
03:22I'm so excited.
03:25Jesus, we are concerned about your taste level.
03:28I was a baby.
03:29I was 21 years old.
03:31I'm 36 now.
03:32Hola.
03:32Back then, I didn't know who I was as a designer.
03:35Now coming back, I know my DNA.
03:38I have a very successful business.
03:39So Heidi has nothing to worry about this time around,
03:43about my taste level.
03:44I'm going to win, just so you know.
03:47So I hope you bitches are ready.
03:48Yes.
03:49What is going on?
03:50Girl.
03:51I'm Vijay.
03:52I'm Joan.
03:53Nice to meet you.
03:54Joan, nice to meet you.
03:54Nice to meet you, Joan.
03:55Hey, guys.
03:56Hey.
03:57Hey, what's up?
03:57Hi.
03:59My name is Yu-Chan.
04:00Hi.
04:01Hi.
04:04My name is Casey Black.
04:05I was on season 19 of Project Runway,
04:09and I left on episode one.
04:13I'm like cry laughing.
04:15Casey, you are out.
04:17Being eliminated in the first challenge,
04:19I didn't get to show who I was as a person,
04:22as a designer, as an artist.
04:24So I'm just hoping to prove who I am.
04:26Hi.
04:27Hi.
04:28Hi.
04:29Hi.
04:30Hi.
04:31Hi.
04:32Honey, you look like you're ready.
04:34I mean, born ready, baby.
04:35Yes.
04:36Oh, shit, bitch.
04:38Are you guys ready to double the travel?
04:42Is that my twin brother?
04:44Oh, .
04:45Bitch.
04:46Oh, no to my god.
04:48That's my god.
04:50There's another one.
04:52The strata did not come to plan.
04:53Let them meet the winner.
04:55Wait, this one's my side, no?
04:59They want me here, though.
05:00You're going to tell them that you want this side?
05:02Yeah, that's my side.
05:04Is that going to be a fight?
05:06Hi, I'm Antonio Estrada.
05:07I'm the winner of Project Runway season 21,
05:09and this is the first runner-up.
05:10Bitch.
05:11No, I'm kidding.
05:12We're seeing you on season seven.
05:14No, this is his first time.
05:16I waited 15 years.
05:17We're here.
05:18Yes.
05:19There you go.
05:20And I always knew I wanted to do fashion.
05:22It was my dream to be on Project Runway, not my brother.
05:25I said my brother went in before me, so.
05:27But I never felt like I was living in his shadow.
05:31I'm talented.
05:33I'm excited to showcase my own creation.
05:35It's going to be my own vision, my own style outside of my brother.
05:38And I'm here to win.
05:40Six, seven, eight, nine, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten, ten.
05:42One, we're done.
05:43Yeah, twelve.
05:44Ah!
05:45There you go!
05:46Yeah!
05:47Ah!
05:48Yeah!
05:49Yeah!
05:50Woo!
05:51Welcome home, Mama.
05:52Yes!
05:53Yes!
05:54Woo-hoo!
05:55Yes!
05:56Designers, welcome to Project Runway.
05:59I can't believe I'm saying this again.
06:00This is so exciting.
06:01I'm your host, Heidi Klum.
06:0321!
06:04Yes!
06:05This is truly a magical place where dreams do come true, and no one knows this more than
06:11knows this more than the world-renowned designer and icon, next to me, Christian Siriano.
06:23I'm good. So you want to know your first challenge? Absolutely. Okay, if you ask any
06:29designer where they first fell in love with fashion, I think one answer comes up more than
06:34any other. The Disney princess. The princesses have inspired so many designers for decades.
06:43And as you know, behind every powerful princess, there's something lurking.
06:51The Disney villain. Yes. Not only were they scary, but they were fabulously evil. Okay,
06:59designers, we're in a new home with new rules. So for your first challenge, you will be forming
07:06fashion houses. Heidi, what are you doing to us? One house will be house of princess,
07:14while the other will be the house of villains. Please stand on the side that your work is on.
07:22Right here, right here. Oh my god. Your house is the house of princess. Okay.
07:27I don't want to sew in all black. That makes you house a villain. Each house must create a cohesive
07:35collection. That's C word. For the very first runway show at the Enchanted United Palace.
07:44You only have one day to create this look. You guys have 45 minutes to brainstorm, to sketch,
07:53and then you run off to Mood to get your fabric. I'm so happy to be here and I can't believe I'm
08:00saying this again. I'll see you on the runway. Love you, Heidi. It's happening. I am having a moment of
08:12PTSD because my first challenge in season 19 was a group challenge. And now I'm in season 21,
08:20and it's also a group challenge. I'm getting hives. I'm sweating. I'm like having panic attacks.
08:29I cannot be eliminated first. Not again.
08:38Okay. Here we go, guys. Okay.
08:41Our first challenge is a group challenge, so we have to sketch and figure out what we're gonna have
08:46going on so we can bring these princess looks to life. It is game on. Let's go.
08:51What's that one thing that can thread all the collection? I think it's gonna
08:55come down to the fabric selection. Fabric. I definitely got inspired by Ursula,
09:01and since I have a delicious, curvaceous girl as a model, I want to do a powerful suit,
09:08fit it all the way below the knee, and then it's gonna go out. I want to make sure her body looks,
09:12like, snatched. I think a villain has a good cape. And if I can switch up the
09:18idea of having a cape, would we like that? Yes. I grew up on a farm. When I created Utica,
09:26it was a conduit for my queer artistic energy because back on the farm, I am the gay community.
09:32I'm the mayor of Queerville. I mostly do these one-of-a-kind bespoke pieces for my community,
09:39but not everybody wants to ready-to-wear drag outfit. So I'm worried about that. It could get too
09:47costumey if I don't do it right. Oh. It has to be cohesive. We should think of a theme,
09:54like a color palette. I work with my brother 24-7, so if I can win this for myself, it's proving
10:01myself. I'm excited to intimidate the other designers, and I'm excited to intimidate my brother.
10:09The fabric that I brought from home, it's literally that fabric, the butterfly, but it's in pink,
10:14and it has orange-y tones. The butterflies are blue. So let's have the inspiration of our collection
10:22be butterfly. So we're working on this. Butterfly, yes. Cool. Yes. Um, okay. Butterfly fabric is not
10:32going on my design. I'm really sorry. I don't know if it's Giving Princess. It's just not my style.
10:38So show me how you do it. My name is Madeline. My design point of view is inspired by historical
10:45fashion. I like collars. I like poofy sleeves. I like pants. I gotta see this fabric because if
10:54it doesn't speak to me, I'm not using, you know. That's fine. It's crazy. We're agreeing to this fabric
10:59that we've never seen. All right, guys. Here we go. What do you think? I am not feeling it.
11:08My name is Joan Madison. I'm years old. I'm a seasoned designer. I've worked in the garment industry.
11:16I've owned and operated my own bridal shop for the last 20 years. So this is my time, and I'm not here
11:23to use basic butterfly fabric. You know, I'm here to show them who's the queen. I feel like I want
11:29brighter. I want brighter, too. Yeah. Yeah. Antonio's butterfly fabric, it was pretty cool to me,
11:36but I already knew that I was going to do what I wanted to do anyway. So are you going to pull
11:42something from here? I don't even know. For me, the butterflies reprincess, but if they don't yet,
11:49they're crazy. All right, designers, $600 each, 45 minutes to shop. Okay, go.
12:02Joseph McRae. Joseph McRae, you got to say the first with the last. Joseph McRae, you got to say
12:07the first with the last. Nah, this is too purple. Everybody's using this print. No, I'm the only one.
12:17But they all make sense. We got sequin. We have velvet. We've got your print. We have tulle.
12:22Our team had a plan coming into this, but now we're running around the store, chicken with his
12:28head cut off. I'm like, and now we've got tweed. I don't know what's happening.
12:32Christian, this is 2025, baby. Okay. Listen, I work in 2025. I'm doing okay.
12:39Come, come, come, come. Villain team, can I please have you and beat it, please? We have to have a
12:43meeting right now. I've played this game before, and I think at this point, I know what it takes,
12:49and if someone has to take control, I think that person's going to be me. Great idea. Let's meet,
12:54make sure it makes sense together. I need to get lining, so I'll be back, okay?
13:00Lining? Lining. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Vijay is in her own bubble. She needs to be a team player.
13:07I don't know. My team is going everywhere, so I haven't been able to get them here.
13:11No meeting? Hope it looks good.
13:17Fiddling, fiddling. Here we go.
13:21Did I cut enough? Can we sing Disney songs?
13:24It's a good thing that's not her day job.
13:38That fabric is gorge. Take it, take off the file. Yeah, right? Don't you think? Yeah.
13:44That's gorgeous. I know. I think so, too. In season 19, I had a lot of ideas. It was really
13:50hard for me to edit down, and I lost track of time. I don't want that to happen again. So,
13:56this challenge, I just think Sleeping Beauty and tulle ball gown. I'm going to play with layers of
14:02tulle that I'm pamphleting. Casey, I remember her from season 19. Her aesthetic is very, um,
14:14loud, and yeah, it's pretty.
14:16Welcome to Project Runway season 21.
14:23My name is Vijay Floresca. Aside from being a fashion designer, I used to be a beauty queen.
14:32Here's my pageant wave.
14:35I was second runner-up in Project Runway Philippines season one, and first runner-up in Dress My Tour.
14:42Being in those competitions will help me to finally win this competition. No more runner-ups,
14:48but to win the competition.
14:51How's it going, Diva?
14:53This one, this one.
14:58I can't really get a read on Vijay. This is a team challenge, and you have to be a little receptive to
15:04other people's critique and interest in what you're doing. She really is in her own zone, and to us, it
15:10seems like she's being an asshole.
15:24Let's do it!
15:25Woo! Let's get this party started!
15:28Got back to work.
15:32Color palette's coming together.
15:33Yeah.
15:33And that transition couldn't be any more perfect.
15:36I'm feeling like my team is a winning team, and I guess you can call me the team leader,
15:41just because they actually fell in love with the fabric that I wanted to use for this challenge.
15:45But you know, I'm a Turner Strata. I can make anyone fall in love with anything.
15:50I think we're doing it, you guys.
15:51I think we're good.
15:51House of Princess. It's a lot of pink, it's a lot of ruffles, and there's some butterflies in there.
15:58It's not my flavor. I'm glad I'm not on Team Princess.
16:03Yeah, I hate it as well.
16:08Hey, BJ, how you doing?
16:11Huh?
16:12I think there's some people in my team that are not being team players.
16:16BJ's energy is very standoffish. It's a bit cheap.
16:20Why you don't have a machine? Where's your machine?
16:23Girl, these are all of our machines.
16:24No, I mean, like, that was the one that I'm using.
16:26Okay, well, I can use it too.
16:28Which one is the one that you were using?
16:29I'm using all of them, because we're all using all of them.
16:31Okay, so you don't have, like, one of them?
16:32No, like, everybody's using all of them. Come on, girl.
16:38You just decide to be lazy and not thread your own machine.
16:42This girl, the fight for the machine begins.
16:46Girl, relax. Like, you don't own the machines.
16:49You're using black thread, honey. I am as well. So,
16:51my bitch better not start. I don't like that shit.
16:55This is a competition. We're not here to meet friends.
16:59We're here to win this. And I think maybe Jesus wants to distract me.
17:03I'm not gonna give him that power. I'm just gonna ignore it.
17:07So, this is my villain-in-law.
17:10You don't want to be in our bathtub, you know, bitch.
17:12Hello.
17:18Frisbee!
17:19How are you?
17:20Hi!
17:21There's a lot going on in here.
17:23Yes, it is.
17:27Casey?
17:28Yes.
17:29Hi. Hi!
17:29We meet again.
17:30I know.
17:31I already need a martini.
17:33All right. What's happening?
17:35She'll be like a cake dress and the flowers.
17:37She's a cake.
17:38I'm just thinking, you know, there's ways to make this feel a bit more modern and cool.
17:45Okay.
17:45Maybe this tool is in here and it's more of a tool overlay somewhere.
17:50The proportions and the fit will be important here.
17:53Yeah.
17:54The waist.
17:55Okay.
17:55For sure.
17:56There's just so many things you could do to make this feel really cool and interesting.
17:59Oh, no.
18:01I have done a waist like this before and I love asymmetrical.
18:04I do a lot of asymmetrical.
18:06So I don't want to give that up.
18:09I think it's going to be gorgeous.
18:10Okay.
18:11Good luck.
18:15Wow.
18:16This is a little number.
18:17The Joseph McCray puffer.
18:19Beautiful shape.
18:20I like to play with shape a lot.
18:22I have a degree in electrical engineering.
18:23I think the engineering has very heavily influenced my design aesthetic.
18:27And you look at the structure and you look at the like silhouettes.
18:30So I'm going to create a mean puffer jacket along with a wrap satin skirt in this midnight
18:36periwinkle repulsory fabric.
18:38People may not directly relate it to a princess, but listen, every princess need a jacket.
18:43I'm feeling low key Tinkerbell for real, for real.
18:45Making these cohesive is still part of the challenge.
18:48Don't just make a fabulous look for you.
18:51I know you don't want to listen.
18:52This is a skin situation, but.
18:54Wait, that's all out?
18:56No, it's not.
18:58Wait.
18:59This is Disney.
19:00I know, I know.
19:02Where are my pearls?
19:07Antonio, what is happening over here?
19:10So what I'm going to do is I'm going to do this bubble dress laced up in the back.
19:14And then I want to do a coat over it with these two different colored tools all over the coat.
19:20So it will be like a reveal.
19:22You're making kind of two dresses that you might not finish.
19:27Why can't this piece just be the moment?
19:29But this one's done already.
19:30I'm just waiting for my model.
19:31It's done because literally like my intern could sew that in 30 minutes.
19:35Like that's not hard.
19:38What?
19:39What the ?
19:41Don't lose it completely.
19:42But like what else could this be?
19:43Could it have sculpture?
19:45Could it have some other element that anyone else has?
19:48Something's got to be cohesive.
19:49Like don't you think the butterfly thing is because of you, right?
19:54Yeah.
19:54Okay.
19:55So then you got to be amazing.
19:58I won't let you down.
19:59I feel like he kind of just like slapped me in the face.
20:03He was like, my intern can make that in 30 minutes.
20:05I'm like, okay.
20:07I'm a Gemini.
20:07I don't take critiques.
20:08I take critiques very like, don't tell me what to do.
20:12But I'm going to step it up.
20:13Step me up.
20:20Yuchun, what is your work normally like?
20:22My work is more like very futuristic.
20:24Okay.
20:25Very edgy and very avant-garde.
20:27So I think you should do that.
20:29Because this doesn't feel very futuristic.
20:31Okay.
20:31It doesn't feel that avant-garde.
20:33To be honest, I haven't made garments like this before.
20:35For my brand, I always like, you know, making ready to wear.
20:38It's always very futuristic, very powerful.
20:41I'm here to challenge myself.
20:43My inspiration for this look is from Taka.
20:46So I'm making this like tulle and lace dress with flowers and veins growing all over.
20:52And with a veil.
20:54Please don't be ugly.
20:55Okay.
20:55Thank you, Christian.
20:57Jesus.
20:58Yes.
20:58What's happening?
20:59I'm basically doing a powerful coat dress.
21:02All right.
21:02I also have another dress underneath.
21:05Right.
21:05So I think the challenge for you is how to make this feel more fashion, like something forward thinking.
21:13I know in my head how the final product is going to look.
21:16And I think it's elegant.
21:18Now it's about how to make this feel like really modern, you know?
21:22Yeah, yeah.
21:24Okay.
21:25I would love a tour of the brain.
21:27Well, we know that a villain loves a cape.
21:31I'm doing my version of a cape where the cape is going to connect to the top of the head.
21:37Love it.
21:38And then clean, simple, classic underneath.
21:41Mm-hmm.
21:42So this is a pant and a top.
21:44Yep.
21:44Pant and a top.
21:45Then the twist.
21:46Oh, I love a twist.
21:48I will pattern in a curve glove pattern.
21:51I don't think they want it to feel too costumy.
21:54So I do think that that is important with your look because you have such a dramatic moment.
22:02Try not to get in my head about it.
22:03I'm used to grand, drag on the stage.
22:07So I am trying to edit.
22:10How's the team going?
22:11We've got some independent creatures.
22:13We do, of course.
22:15On our team.
22:15We have a bitchy one in here.
22:17You have a sassy one?
22:18Yeah.
22:18This thing over there in the corner.
22:20Ooh.
22:22VJ?
22:23Oh, yeah.
22:23She's what we call in the business.
22:25A .
22:26Mm-hmm.
22:27Interesting.
22:28Wow.
22:31I don't think there's a problem with being a .
22:32But when it's your own team, come on.
22:35We just have a rectangle and fabric draped on the mannequin.
22:38I don't know what, like, the vibe is.
22:41We have four more hours to finish everything.
22:43And then you will be sending your models to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
22:47And I'll see you guys in a little bit for model fittings.
22:50Don't turn into a pumpkin.
22:52Bye.
22:53Bye, Christian.
22:55We are meeting right now.
22:57I think the House of Villains didn't get enough great feedback from Christian Soriano.
23:02So I must demand a team meeting right now because I cannot go home on the first challenge.
23:07Let's step back.
23:08It doesn't look cohesive.
23:11We need to add an element.
23:13I think the cohesiveness is all about the flowers that we have.
23:15It is floral, right?
23:16You're also the only one with lace, so we have to incorporate lace somewhere.
23:21I don't have more lace at all.
23:22You need to cut a little piece, so it needs to be cohesive.
23:25Have you ever made a collection?
23:26Yeah.
23:29Being cohesive is making it that it looks like it's from the same collection and same design.
23:34I know, but why lace?
23:35No one has lace.
23:36That's what I'm saying.
23:37No one has this leather.
23:38No one has this velvet.
23:40I'm adding velvet on mine.
23:41I'm adding your flower as well.
23:43Mr. Yushin, this is a team challenge.
23:46I'm not meaning taking his lace to, like, sabotage him.
23:48I'm just trying to do the best that I can.
23:50But the red, I mean, it's beautiful, but it seems like we don't have red for any other looks.
23:54Yeah, I think if you do, like, a red top of color, I want to hold black.
24:00I don't really understand why I have to devote my lace.
24:03Why he's doing this to me?
24:04Well, he's the biggest problem in the team.
24:07I'm just saying if we want to make the collection cohesive, you're the only one with lace.
24:14Wow, Yushin, he's definitely being a little shady bitch.
24:18If you're not here to be a team player, there's going to be a problem throughout this whole competition.
24:24Today's the first runway, and I'm just so scared what's going to happen.
24:31Not myself, but for other designers.
24:35She's part of team villains, so it's just slicked back.
24:38I want something like, you know, crying, smoky.
24:40Okay, thank you.
24:42You stand right here.
24:43This is great.
24:44Look at the proportions.
24:45Look, you can't see her waist.
24:46You've got nothing.
24:47But I'm not going to make her look like a pinata.
24:49But that's kind of what it looks like.
24:51Oh, my God.
24:52I'm running out of time, and then I have to do a belt for this coat dress.
24:56I didn't want to have her look like a loofah.
25:05Where's the model?
25:06Oh, my God.
25:07This is more stressful than Cinderella at the ball.
25:11You are still sewing?
25:13No, this one, like...
25:13Mm.
25:14We're sewing Heidi in three, two...
25:21Hi, everybody.
25:25All right, designers, that's it.
25:27That's time.
25:28You are coming.
25:29Come on.
25:30Please meet our Project Runway judges,
25:32my longtime friend, editor-in-chief of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia.
25:38Serious, baby.
25:39That woman is powerful.
25:42I hope Nina Garcia sees my look, and she, like, sees me in my princess.
25:47The FDA award-winning stylist and image architect, Law Roach.
25:53I'm thrilled.
25:54Law Roach, incredible celebrity stylist.
25:58He's worked with Zendaya.
25:59Law Roach can tear me a new one whenever the man wants, okay?
26:03And please meet again our mentor, Christian Siriano.
26:07Welcome to our first show of the season of Project Runway.
26:11As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
26:15And in my case, you're back in again.
26:20For our first challenge, our designers formed Fashion Houses.
26:24Two teams of six designers creating cohesive collections inspired by Disney princesses or Disney villains.
26:33Let's start the show!
26:34I feel so confident.
26:44This dress is really giving me a vibe of cool, modern.
26:49I would walk out of here with that, happy.
26:51I'm telling you, that girl is a villain.
26:55You can wear it now.
26:56It's not so costumable.
26:57I think it's beautiful.
26:58I'm a wizard gonna pull an ace.
27:01Seeing my look go down the runway, I'm really happy.
27:04I'm proud of it.
27:08Just to see the scarf dragging, so it gave some kind of sense of elegance and dramatic effect.
27:15The shape of my gown looks so clean and elegant.
27:20I love the way the light hits the velvet.
27:22The collar is exciting.
27:25It gives drama.
27:26It's made well, too.
27:27I couldn't be more pleased that this is the first piece that the judges see for me.
27:35I am so happy she's giving me a villain vibe.
27:40The leather is moving.
27:42The pants is well made, perfectly tailored for her.
27:46It's like I'm so speechless.
27:47Wow, I'm pinching myself, seeing my look going down the runway.
27:53It's perfect, chic, and I feel like she looks like the villain.
27:59Don't put your curse on me.
28:00I know.
28:08This look is the magnum opus of my mix between grand and sophisticated.
28:14Look at the detail of the glove.
28:16It's so witchy.
28:18It's harnessing wind, and it just feels like I have created something that is truly special.
28:25I hope that they get a good meal from what I'm serving.
28:37I feel the Joseph McCray princess gracing the space.
28:40I just cannot take my eyes off with my clothes because she is so beautiful.
28:46And I did that.
28:47Did you say a daytime princess?
28:49Daytime.
28:49Keep going to lunch.
28:49I think it looks cute.
28:57I think she looks good.
28:58I feel good, actually.
28:59I'm not the kind of person to be like, oh my god.
29:01Whoever did this knows how to sew.
29:03The construction is really great.
29:07When my model walks down the runway, it's definitely giving modern Jasmine for sure.
29:12And I see emotions being provoked when she's walking, and that's what I want.
29:17So I'm feeling confident about my look.
29:19It's a vibe.
29:19I'm feeling emotional and happy of the work.
29:24Seeing my model in my beautiful butterfly fabric that I brought from home makes me feel so
29:30nurtured, loved, and accomplished.
29:33Is that camouflage?
29:35It's like a butterfly print.
29:40She is just floating in my gown, and it's exactly the feeling I wanted.
29:46It is modern princess feeling.
29:50I love how the tool floats.
29:52It's like a little dance happening on the fabric.
29:56I feel very proud.
29:59Seeing my princess slash queen's garment, I think she definitely owned the space.
30:06I knew that it was over.
30:12Designers, congratulations.
30:14That was a very special first show.
30:16Well done.
30:17Now we have to see which house has a fairy tale ending, and which one just ends.
30:23My heart is racing, and I love my look.
30:26I'm sure the judges want to see more of me.
30:29I mean, what is there not to love of Antonio, right?
30:31But you never know.
30:32It's anyone's game.
30:33Welcome to your home away from home.
30:42The runway.
30:43Amazing.
30:45This was a great first challenge.
30:47And applause to all of you guys, because really everyone did a great job.
30:52But we're going to start nitpicking now.
30:54Yeah.
30:56We have scored your designs.
30:58And only one house has risen to the top.
31:01The best look will come from the winning house,
31:04while the eliminated designer will come from the losing house.
31:07The winning house for this challenge is...
31:14House of Villains.
31:20This team was a hard one to work with.
31:22But we won.
31:23We won.
31:24We won.
31:24We won.
31:24We won.
31:25We won.
31:26Congratulations.
31:27Yes.
31:28Unfortunately, that means House of Princes.
31:30You are the losing house.
31:33You can leave the runway.
31:34We'll talk to you later.
31:38Oh, my God.
31:39I didn't think I belonged here.
31:43I am shocked.
31:44What just happened?
31:46This feels horrible.
31:51So, congratulations.
31:52You guys are winning a house.
31:54Your clothes really spoke to the challenge,
31:57but also did in a way that felt really modern,
32:00that separated you from the other team.
32:03Your collection at least looked cohesive.
32:07All right.
32:07Let's talk to the top three, our favorite looks.
32:13Ethan.
32:14Ta-da!
32:16We also love Yuchin.
32:22And we had a little bit of a debate over the third spot.
32:28It is Jesus.
32:33Alex, Angelo, DJ, you're safe.
32:37And you can leave the runway.
32:39Thank you so much.
32:39Thank you, baby.
32:41Thank you, guys.
32:44All right.
32:45Let's bring out your models.
32:48You were our three favorite looks tonight.
32:52All right, Yuchin.
32:53Let's talk about your looks.
32:55To me, this is now.
32:56I love this, especially now.
32:57Everything is about sheer.
32:59And so, I feel like you're right on what's happening right now.
33:02And she looks beautiful.
33:03I would wear this, too.
33:04It's gorgeous.
33:05I really like your dress.
33:06It's young.
33:07It's sexy.
33:08It's gothic.
33:09It's evil.
33:11I can definitely see Jenna Ortega in this dress
33:14at a premiere of Wednesday Addams.
33:16A slight change.
33:17I would have switched the styling with the boots,
33:19but I think it is a really, really great dress.
33:21And I think it is very commercial.
33:24The flower in the back is curious,
33:26but I love the ruching that you did on the bodice.
33:30If we change this black into pink,
33:33you could be in the princess.
33:35Yeah, thank you.
33:36Just say.
33:36Yeah.
33:37I'm versatile.
33:39All right.
33:39Oh, me too.
33:44Ethan, we're going to talk to you next.
33:45Hello, distinguished panel of judges.
33:47Okay.
33:49Your model is actually quite petite.
33:52However, she felt grandiose.
33:55It was like this dark shadow had just slithered
33:59through this stage.
34:00It wasn't just the clothes.
34:03It was a feeling.
34:04The construction was really, really good.
34:07The velvet was a great idea.
34:09Velvet always looked so rich.
34:11There was a little things that I noticed on the cape.
34:14There was a scene that I wish I didn't see.
34:17And a little bit of the hem is puckering,
34:19but you did such a beautiful job.
34:20Bravo, my love.
34:21It's giving me villain, but it's not giving me costume.
34:25I feel like if you don't have this cape on,
34:26you wear this jumpsuit underneath.
34:28It's like modern.
34:29It's cool.
34:29I would want to wear it.
34:31I love the nails because this little detail,
34:33I was like, yes.
34:36And she looks stunning.
34:38All right, Jesus.
34:40Jesus, it's so lovely to see you again.
34:43Mm-hmm.
34:43It was bold of you to choose a color
34:47when everybody else stuck to black.
34:50I think that's why you're up here is because in a sea of black,
34:53to have this fabrication that feels really rich and really luxe was really important.
34:58For me, it was very important to make her feel sexy.
35:01And I think that I embody that.
35:03I love the coat.
35:04I think it's fabulous.
35:06I hated it.
35:07I was the only one.
35:09I was out judged.
35:10Hate is such a big word.
35:12It's a short word.
35:12It's only four letters.
35:15I'm sorry if you hate the coat.
35:17I hate the whole look.
35:18Aw, don't get emotional, please.
35:25We liked it.
35:27I love how your model looks.
35:29She feels regal.
35:31We need ambitious designers.
35:33Yes.
35:33Guys, I have to disagree with everything Nina said.
35:38To me, she doesn't look cool.
35:40She doesn't look young.
35:41She looks like a Nigerian auntie.
35:44I have clients of all different sizes, ages.
35:47And one thing you have to care about is the placement of the breast.
35:51Then you could have done something to lift the breast a little bit more.
35:55If you're going to say that you want to make a curvy woman feel beautiful and powerful and all
36:00those things, then you have to do it in your design.
36:03Does anyone disagree with any of that?
36:05Yeah.
36:07A lot of the times, I feel like designers put a curvy girl into something so loose that we
36:12can't see the beautiful curves.
36:13Then I think you look beautiful.
36:15Okay.
36:15All right.
36:17Now it's time to name our winner.
36:29Congratulations, Ethan.
36:31You're the winner of this challenge.
36:32Yes.
36:34Shut up.
36:35Crown me, baby, because the queen is on top this week.
36:41It feels right.
36:50La Roche was rocked.
36:53I'm so shocked right now.
36:54Shocked, shocked, shocked.
36:56It feels like I'm not on the top.
36:59Even though I should be celebrating being on the top, I feel a little attacked.
37:04I'm gagged.
37:06And I think it's very critical for me moving forward to really listen to what the judges have to say.
37:13All I have to do is prove him wrong.
37:15What was the feedback for yours?
37:17What did they have to say?
37:18Oh, good.
37:18Yeah?
37:18And does it really get some like, you know, very good advices, you know?
37:22But my advice to you is through this challenge, like, every time I would be like, oh, can we do this?
37:27You're like, no, no, no.
37:29Just, sometimes you do have, sometimes you have to listen.
37:33But girl, I have to say what I'm saying.
37:35So remember you talking about my lace?
37:37You're saying everyone take a piece of the lace.
37:39I didn't, did I say that?
37:40Everybody take a piece of his lace?
37:41We have the camera on there.
37:43Okay, bro.
37:45It was a team challenge and that was just a request.
37:47I have my own opinion.
37:48I'm a very mature designer, so nobody needs to tell me anything unless I want to take it, okay?
37:53You're getting really offended, really is throwing me off.
37:57Wait, wait, wait, guys.
37:58Like, seriously?
37:59Mm-hmm.
37:59You know what you're doing, girl.
38:00No, I don't know what I'm doing.
38:02You don't know.
38:03No.
38:03You don't know.
38:06Child.
38:09All right, let's bring out House of Princess.
38:17House of Princess, you made our least favorite collection.
38:20It was not cohesive.
38:22Unfortunately, there were three looks that were less Disney and more dismal.
38:29Belania, Madeline, Joan.
38:33You're safe and you can leave the runway.
38:35Thank you so much.
38:45Unfortunately, that means Casey, Joseph, and Antonio.
38:49You had the three bottom looks.
38:52I'm not being punk.
39:03Am I being punk?
39:03No.
39:04No.
39:05Okay.
39:07All right, let's bring out your models.
39:09Joseph, we're going to start with you first.
39:18Like, I did not see the inspo.
39:20I knew that that was you, but I just don't get princess from this thing.
39:24I wish that you would have picked Elaine. You have volume, but then you have her wrapped up in this
39:32skirt that seems to be strangling her. It's a question of proportions. You're playing with too
39:38many. I disagree. I enjoy the way you play with proportions. I like the coat. He popped that
39:45coat off and it was a sweetheart bodice dress.
39:47But it isn't.
39:47I like it. I think she's looked really cool.
39:50I can see some of my clients wearing this.
39:52To me.
39:53We agreed to disagree.
39:55Yeah, we agreed to disagree.
39:58Can she turn around?
40:01Yeah.
40:01Now the back isn't great.
40:02This is not.
40:03I'm sorry.
40:04The back is a couch cushion.
40:06Okay, Antonio.
40:07If you had asked ChatGBT to help you make a John Batista Valli for $100, then that's what that look was.
40:16After Christian's critiques, I did change my look a few times.
40:20And there is another dress underneath.
40:22Is the dress still underneath or no?
40:24Yeah.
40:24Let's see it.
40:25Oh, yeah.
40:25Let's see it, yeah.
40:26Yeah.
40:26Well, Christian told me his intern can make that dress in 30 minutes.
40:29Blame it on everything on Christian.
40:31I just think this dress underneath an intern could make it in 30 minutes. It's a tube dress.
40:36You couldn't have shown that by itself.
40:38But, you know, why didn't you let it be open?
40:40I don't know why you put the belt on it.
40:43I didn't know you were going to cover up the butterflies completely.
40:45It's better this way.
40:47Yeah, because with that cute little mini dress under it, at least you see her body.
40:51It's charming.
40:52But this is not how we saw it.
40:54She just looked like a big loofah.
40:56When Christian was crazy, I was like, don't think it's going to be a pinata.
40:59Stop blaming it on Christian.
41:01You're here now.
41:01No, we're not blaming Christian.
41:03I wrote, he knows.
41:04I'm a Gemini, and I don't like people telling me what to do.
41:08And I was like, you're an adult.
41:10You're going to listen to Christian.
41:11He's here for a reason.
41:12He's your mentor.
41:13And I did listen to him.
41:14And that's why I changed my look three times.
41:15And, you know, you pushed me to be better.
41:18The inspo of the butterfly comes from which princess?
41:21Which princess?
41:23I mean, every princess.
41:24Antonio, but you're being so defensive.
41:28No, I'm not.
41:28We're just trying to understand your work.
41:30You're trying to explain myself.
41:31I'm sorry if I'm coming out.
41:32Right, but I don't think there's any reason to be defensive.
41:34No, I'm not being defensive at all.
41:36I'm just explaining myself.
41:37Sorry if I'm coming out.
41:38No, I think Nina's right to call that out.
41:40I think you are being defensive and also a little bit rude.
41:44It's okay to be criticized and to be, you know, let down by the criticism.
41:51But to kind of like throw it back.
41:54Charby's boss has really been really quite nasty.
41:57I'm just letting you know.
41:58Okay.
41:59One girl to another.
42:00Maybe it's my Latina side.
42:01Maybe.
42:06Next.
42:08Casey, let's talk about your look.
42:10I really love this Jacquard.
42:13And I wish that all this other stuff would disappear.
42:17I don't know.
42:18To me, it looks like a nightgown.
42:20You know, it's very lackluster in terms of like shape and everything.
42:24And what you then wrapped around to me looks like an afterthought.
42:28Can she turn around?
42:29Yes.
42:30The ribbon is what I hated.
42:31Yeah.
42:31What if I stood back?
42:32A hundred percent.
42:34I want to see like more design.
42:36Is that inspiring?
42:37I love the deep plunge.
42:39I just think it was a miss because you had everything to make something so beautiful
42:44and so fairytale-like and you kind of missed it.
42:48I hear you.
42:50All right, designers.
42:51We have to make a decision.
42:52You can leave the runway.
42:59This is so much fun.
43:01I love this job.
43:01Yeah, but I can tell.
43:06I don't know if they're going to make it out alive at the end.
43:09I guess we can all agree that Joseph is not going home, right?
43:23There's so much going on, but the color was really beautiful.
43:27The combination of fabrics were very wonderful.
43:30He's like, I'm making what I make, couches.
43:34Casey, Nina, what did you think?
43:36The dress was a complete mess.
43:38It was horrible.
43:39It was a mess.
43:40And boring too.
43:41It literally like she took a staple gun.
43:42It was just like.
43:43No, it was awful.
43:44I'm an adult and I'm going to take criticism about bitch.
43:46When you're putting words in my mouth, like.
43:48Antonio, blah, what were your thoughts?
43:50That dress when he opened it up was really cute.
43:53Like 30 minutes to make that dress.
43:55Yeah, but the coat made, I like that it was a coat.
43:57I know, but what if he didn't have that coat?
43:59Yeah.
43:59No, he needed that kind of.
44:01He's like, whoa, your attitude, I'm like, oh, bitch.
44:04That attitude is so bad.
44:07Then he said, it's probably just the Latina in me, girl.
44:10I was like, yeah, all right.
44:13That's not an excuse.
44:14So with my Nina, baby.
44:15Yeah.
44:16You could be very talented, but if you have a bad attitude
44:20and you can't work with others in this industry, we have seen it.
44:24Bad attitude is a problem.
44:28I'm so proud of myself.
44:31It's just very emotional, you know, and intense.
44:34Like, it's just intense.
44:37I just feel like I'm in shock a bit right now.
44:41Like, I actually really loved my dress.
44:45Being in this position again.
44:47Never thought I'd be in the bottom three.
44:48At this stage of the competition again, like,
44:50after being eliminated on episode one of another season,
44:53like, it just feels like a bad joke.
44:56I don't want to go home.
45:00They're so mean.
45:01I'm like, no, why am I here?
45:05I didn't think my design was the worst,
45:08but being in the bottom three, I feel like shattered.
45:11Do I really need to be here?
45:13Do I really need this?
45:14It's like, let's just go home.
45:17So do we say home the bad dress or the bad attitude?
45:20Do I really need this?
45:22I want to go home.
45:26If I say my attitude's gonna be worse.
