00:00Those are two restored cathedral bells ringing in unison for the first time since that atomic

00:11bombing 80 years ago. About two and a half thousand people on hand, representatives from

00:16more than 90 countries, attending this memorial event. Survivors hoping the harrowing memories

00:22can help make their hometown the last place on earth to be hit by a nuclear bomb. Here's

00:30Eighty years later, the international community remains deeply divided over nuclear disarmament

00:39and we face an extremely challenging security environment. However, no matter how difficult

00:46the circumstances may be, as the only nation to have suffered from the atomic bomb in war,

00:52it is our mission to uphold the three non-nuclear principles and take the lead in international

00:59efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear war and nuclear weapons. We will continue to

01:05make steady progress toward this goal, step by step.
