Tesla’s vice president of hardware design engineering and lead on the Dojo supercomputer project, Pete Bannon, is leaving the company, according to CNBC. Bloomberg reported that Elon Musk has shut down Bannon’s Dojo group, reassigning engineers to other initiatives. Since early last year, Musk has positioned Tesla as an artificial intelligence and robotics company rather than solely an electric vehicle maker. As a custom-built supercomputer, Dojo was central to Tesla's transformation, designed to train AI models using data from the company’s vehicles. Musk said on a recent earnings call that a new Dojo version would scale next year. Tesla has seen a wave of executive departures this year, including leaders in robotics, software, and Musk’s former chief of staff, due to terminations and resignations. Tesla did not immediate respond to CNBC to a request for comment.
