00:00Who is this?
00:00I'm Bart Simpson.
00:01Who the hell are you?
00:02I'm Michael Jackson.
00:03The Michael Jackson?
00:05No way.
00:06Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for TV episodes that were too
00:10controversial to air.
00:11Spoilers will be mentioned, so this is your official warning.
00:14What's with all these flags?
00:17I don't know.
00:19It's the Puerto Rican Day Parade.
00:23Number 30.
00:24Dad Baby, Bluey.
00:25It may be one of the most well-known and beloved shows by kids and parents alike,
00:29but even that doesn't make it immune from censorship.
00:31The program tackled the hardships of pregnancy in a humorous way in Dad Baby.
00:35You're pregnant with baby bingo.
00:38So you have to act pregnant.
00:41Okay, if we're gonna do this, let's do it properly.
00:44In the episode, Bluey's father, Bandit, tries his hand at simulating pregnancy,
00:48complete with a fake belly.
00:49The concept was silly and harmless enough,
00:51with some playful jokes about the discomforts that occur during pregnancy.
00:54However, the experiment was capped off with the fictional father figure pretending to give birth,
00:58while nothing graphic was shown, the simulated contractions seemingly proved to be too much.
01:03It never made it to Disney services,
01:04and was only finally released to their YouTube channel in May of 2024.
01:08Hooray!
01:09Hooray!
01:11Number 29.
01:12Man's Best Friend, The Ren and Stimpy Show.
01:14You never know what straw will break the camel's back.
01:16Known for its shock value and casual violence,
01:19The Ren and Stimpy Show is a staple of 1990s television.
01:21Look at the cute little rascals.
01:25Yes sir, a man needs to share his love.
01:27You know, a man needs the companionship of lower life forms.
01:31Despite its reputation, one episode went so far
01:34that it didn't make it to air until Spike TV's inception in 2003.
01:38In Man's Best Friend, the titular characters are adopted by a human
01:41and vigorously trained into becoming obedient pets.
01:44There were plenty of adult references throughout,
01:46from jokes about bodily fluids to cigars being handed out as treats.
01:49There was even a sequence where Stimpy viciously beats their owner with an oar.
01:53You mustn't!
01:54He is our master!
01:56Shut up!
01:58You're next, Mr. Doggy Treat!
02:02The moment was so intense that Nickelodeon refused to play it,
02:05and even went so far as to fire the show's creator.
02:08Number 28.
02:09The one with the lesbian wedding, Friends.
02:11Instances like this make it clear just how much progress society has made
02:14in a relatively short time.
02:16When Friends was first premiering in the 1990s,
02:18marriage equality was hardly being discussed.
02:20We're getting married.
02:27As in, I now pronounce you wife and wife married?
02:32Anyway, we'd like you to come, but we totally understand if you don't want to.
02:35So when the sitcom made the bold decision to depict a wedding between a lesbian couple,
02:40viewers across the nation were shocked.
02:41Despite the wholesome storyline and not showing any physical contact between the couple,
02:45two TV affiliates in Texas and Ohio refused to air it at all, inciting protests in response.
02:51Friends, family, we're gathered here today to join Carol and Susan in holy matrimony.
02:57Oh my god.
02:59Now I've seen everything.
03:00Despite the local bannings, the network themselves only received a few calls complaining about it,
03:04and it was the highest rated program that week,
03:07showing that the episode overall had a primarily positive impact.
03:10Number 27.
03:11The Hunger Strike
03:12The Boondocks
03:13One of the most well-known types of comedy is parody,
03:16but that doesn't always mean the subject of such jokes always appreciates them.
03:19The Boondocks was beloved for tackling controversial topics through satire.
03:23Our leader, Bob Johnson, had a dream.
03:25A dream of creating a network that would accomplish with hundreds of years of slavery.
03:30Jim Crow and malt liquor couldn't.
03:32They went after everybody, including one of the show's executive producers in the season 2 installment,
03:37The Hunger Strike.
03:38Both the president and CEO of BET were lambasted and accused of exploiting their community.
03:43The parodies were scathing and hit so hard that it only premiered in Canada in 2008 with a disclaimer.
03:48In the United States, however, it was only available via DVD until it finally premiered on Adult Swim in 2020.
03:54Of course it was a setup.
03:55I believe the release of this video was engineered by BET themselves,
03:59working in conjunction with the Republican Party and the FBI.
04:02While executives have never confirmed their reasons for doing so,
04:05many fans are convinced the imitation played into their decision.
04:09Number 26.
04:10Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Community
04:12The debate behind this decision is still being had by fans to this day.
04:16Following protests in 2020, some streaming services responded to concerns people had
04:20regarding blackface and the programming.
04:22At the end of the meeting, they realized that Chang had been there and felt too awkward to mention it.
04:28This resulted in several episodes from various shows being removed,
04:31including Community's Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
04:34In one scene, Chang depicted a dark elf by painting his face black,
04:37and the eventual removal sparked debate in several circles.
04:40So we're just gonna ignore that hate crime.
04:42Some fans and cast members questioned the final decision,
04:44citing the context in which the act was done and defending the joke.
04:47However, series creator Dan Harmon ended up agreeing with the contentious final decision.
04:52Even if it was at the cost of what he thought was one of the series' most iconic storylines.
04:56Number 25.
04:57Episode 847.
04:59Sesame Street
04:59This is probably one of the last shows you expected to see,
05:02and its inclusion is one of the most unfair.
05:05In 1976, Sesame Street featured Margaret Hamilton,
05:08who played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz.
05:10But from the looks of it, I know I'm not in Oz anymore.
05:14I must be over the rainbow somewhere.
05:17Well, the sooner I can get out of here, the better I like it.
05:21It depicted the villain creating violence upon arrival,
05:23from making it rain indoors to threatening beloved characters.
05:26It even ended in a dark manner with one of the characters sobbing in fear
05:30as the witch reveals the episode's sponsors.
05:32Countless parents wrote in after the fact,
05:34reporting that their children were so horrified
05:36that they wanted to stop watching the show entirely.
05:38You know something?
05:40You have got to be the most beautiful person I have ever seen.
05:44Oh, keep still.
05:45Wow, I think I'm in love.
05:49Really?
05:50After focus testing to review the claims,
05:52the program was pulled and shelved until 2019,
05:55over 40 years later.
05:57Number 24.
05:58America's Next Top Patties Billboard Model Contest
06:01It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
06:03Sometimes doing something later is better than doing nothing at all.
06:06I don't want to be on your billboard, and I'll tell you why.
06:07I'm going to take one of my characters,
06:09and I'm going to launch a viral video and promote Patties myself.
06:12Known for its unapologetic sense of humor,
06:14It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has never been afraid of crossing
06:17whatever boundaries needed to show how awful the characters are.
06:20However, even they can take it too far,
06:22and nothing exemplifies this better than America's Next Top Patties Billboard Model Contest.
06:27In it, Dee and Charlie attempt to promote the bar,
06:29but the former's increasingly offensive characters make it difficult for them.
06:33You that, uh, that girl, uh, Pathetic Girl 43.
06:37Pathetic Girl?
06:37I almost didn't recognize you in that get-up,
06:39but I recognize that whiny voice anyway.
06:41While she's called out numerous times throughout,
06:43the concept was pushed to the limit when she donned blackface to play Martina Martinez.
06:48Although their intentions to call out racism were good,
06:51it aged poorly,
06:52leading to it being removed from streaming platforms in 2020.
06:55Number 23.
06:56Earshot.
06:57Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
06:58For many, entertainment is a way to escape their day-to-day lives.
07:01This includes not wanting to be reminded of societal ills,
07:04especially those that resulted in multiple deaths.
07:06This time tomorrow, I'll kill you all.
07:09Buffy the Vampire Slayer was no stranger to fantastical violence,
07:12but a reference to a real-life crime took things too far.
07:15In Earshot, Buffy was tasked with finding the person who wanted to attack her school.
07:19What are you talking about?
07:21Actions, having consequences, you know, stuff like that.
07:24I...
07:25I wouldn't ever hurt anybody.
07:27In the wake of the Columbine tragedy,
07:29the network decided the plot was simply too dark and too real,
07:32leaving them scrambling to postpone it.
07:34It ended up not being released for several months,
07:36and when it did,
07:37it eventually went on to be considered one of the series' best.
07:40Number 22.
07:41Comedians.
07:42Beavis and Butthead.
07:43Entertainment has always been a convenient scapegoat for larger issues,
07:46especially when it's controversial.
07:48In Comedians,
07:49the titular characters on Beavis and Butthead decided to attempt stand-up comedy.
07:52What's green and red and goes 100 miles an hour?
07:55Uh...
07:56Uh...
07:59A frog in a blender.
08:01Get it?
08:02After bombing their set,
08:03Beavis tries juggling flaming newspapers in the empty club,
08:06resulting in the club also catching fire.
08:09A month after airing,
08:10a young boy reportedly set his trailer on fire,
08:12killing his younger sister in the process.
08:14His mother claimed he'd been inspired by the cartoon,
08:17even though it was later reported that she didn't even have cable.
08:19We should be on TV.
08:23How come that club owner dude didn't like us?
08:26Maybe he's stupid.
08:28Yeah.
08:30Not everybody can be cool like us.
08:33Despite the lack of proof,
08:34it was still pulled,
08:35and the show was bumped to a later time slot
08:37and even prohibited from talking about fire.
08:39Number 21.
08:40Bored She Hung Herself.
08:41Hawaii Five-O.
08:42The title alone makes it obvious
08:44why this was doomed from the very start.
08:46Despite being a police drama,
08:47Hawaii Five-O is still relatively family-friendly,
08:50save for this now-banned episode.
08:52In it, the team investigated a case
08:53wherein a woman had supposedly taken her own life
08:56while trying a new yoga technique.
08:58Although there were no issues leading up to the broadcast,
09:00things soon took a horrific turn
09:02when it was reported that a viewer
09:03had apparently tried a similar method and died,
09:06resulting in a lawsuit from their family.
09:08In response,
09:09Bored She Hung Herself was swiftly pulled from syndication.
09:11It has also never been included
09:13in any DVD sets or streaming services.
09:16essentially wiping it from the show's history.
09:18Number 20.
09:19See Me, Feel Me, Know Me.
09:21The Powerpuff Girls.
09:22When you think of banned TV,
09:23you probably don't think of cartoons made for little kids.
09:26Alas, one episode of The Powerpuff Girls
09:29was banned in the United States for religious imagery.
09:31This is the best day of my life today.
09:37The episode features a destroyed building
09:39and executives at Cartoon Network
09:41believed that the exposed beams
09:42look too much like crosses.
09:46There's also a hippie character
09:53that they felt resembled Jesus.
09:55These inclusions had the Cartoon Network sweating
09:58and they banned the episode from release.
10:00However, it was aired in many other countries
10:13and now appears on streaming and the DVD.
10:16Number 19.
10:17The High Ground
10:17Star Trek The Next Generation
10:19From the late 1960s to 1998,
10:22Ireland was embroiled in The Troubles,
10:24a violent conflict over whether Northern Ireland
10:27should remain part of the UK
10:28or unify with the Republic of Ireland.
10:31Sir,
10:32I'm finding it difficult to understand
10:35many aspects of Ansata conduct.
10:37Much of their behavioral norm
10:39would be defined by my program
10:40as unnecessary and unacceptable.
10:42Fighting for the latter option was the IRA,
10:45a paramilitary group designated
10:46as a terrorist organization in the UK.
10:49In the 1990 Star Trek episode,
10:51The High Ground,
10:51Data notes that the IRA's terrorist activities
10:54worked and that Ireland was unified
10:56in the year 2024.
10:58Yet there are numerous examples
10:59when it was successful.
11:01The independence of the Mexican state from Spain,
11:04the Irish unification of 2024,
11:06and the Kenzie Rebellion.
11:08Because the episode depicted a united Ireland
11:10attained through terrorism,
11:12the episode was initially banned
11:13in both the UK and Ireland.
11:15Then would it be accurate to say
11:17that terrorism is acceptable
11:19when all options for peaceful settlement
11:21have been foreclosed?
11:23Number 18,
11:24Insane in the Membrane,
11:25Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
11:27In 2003,
11:28a reboot of the famous turtle brand
11:30began airing on Fox.
11:32However,
11:32one episode proved too violent
11:34for the family-friendly programming block,
11:36and that episode was season 4's
11:38Insane in the Membrane.
11:39Scheduled for release on March 4, 2006,
11:42the episode was pulled in the US
11:43due to its graphic content.
11:53Series producer Lloyd Goldfine
11:55blames the ban on a roster change within Fox.
11:58According to him,
11:59every step of the episode's production
12:00was approved by the network.
12:02But new personnel were horrified.
12:04This experiment is a catastrophe!
12:15It was cut from rotation
12:18and wasn't aired in the US until 2015.
12:21Number 17,
12:22Unstoppable,
12:23Law & Special Victims Unit.
12:25Produced in early 2016,
12:27this episode of Law & Special Victims Unit
12:29might never see the light of day.
12:31I'm a handsome, charming millionaire.
12:33Women throw themselves at me.
12:35Even though a promo was aired,
12:37the episode was pulled before it aired.
12:39It was reportedly inspired by a real case,
12:41a woman's accusation that when she was very young,
12:44Donald Trump assaulted her
12:45at one of Jeffrey Epstein's notorious parties.
12:49He really needs a new script,
12:50but he's not going to change,
12:53and he's gotten away with it.
12:55Trump and Epstein were friends
12:56and partied together throughout the 1990s,
12:59until falling out over real estate in 2004.
13:01While the woman's lawsuit was withdrawn,
13:03about two dozen other women
13:05subsequently accused Trump of sexual misconduct.
13:08When Trump was elected president in November,
13:10Unstoppable was shelved.
13:11Right now, a historic moment.
13:14We can now project the winner
13:15of the presidential race CNN projects.
13:17Donald Trump wins the presidency.
13:20Number 16,
13:21The Great McGrady,
13:22Arthur.
13:23Cancer is a difficult subject for anyone to discuss,
13:26let alone children.
13:27Unfortunately,
13:28my body is also making a few weeds.
13:33Right now,
13:34my body's trying hard to get rid of those weeds,
13:37and it takes a lot of work.
13:39In the Arthur episode,
13:40The Great McGrady,
13:42everyone reacts differently upon learning
13:43that Mrs. McGrady has cancer,
13:45but it doesn't seem to have been the subject matter
13:47that got the episode banned.
13:49It was apparently the presence of Lance Armstrong.
13:51Francine gets in touch with Armstrong,
13:53knowing that he survived cancer.
13:55You don't seem like someone who's had cancer.
13:58Why is that?
13:59I don't know.
14:00You're so healthy.
14:02He's depicted as a heroic figure,
14:04but his reputation was tarnished in real life
14:07following the infamous doping scandal.
14:09Reruns of his episode were pulled from Rotation in the U.S.,
14:12and it was removed from the iTunes store and Amazon.
14:15It was later revised to remove Armstrong.
14:18Number 15,
14:19Conflict,
14:19Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
14:21Yep,
14:21even Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood had some banned episodes.
14:24In November of 1983,
14:26the show aired five episodes about conflict,
14:28which contained several references to war.
14:31I'm glad I didn't live there.
14:33I am too.
14:35I wouldn't like to live where they're having a war.
14:38We've never had a war here in make-believe, have we?
14:41Prince Tuesday is taught about war in school,
14:43and King Friday starts to suspect
14:45that Corny's factory is manufacturing bomb parts.
14:48Well, Uncle Friday,
14:50they're not building bombs in Southwood.
14:53They're not?
14:54I'm so relieved.
14:55Well, wait a minute.
14:57What are they using those million parts for?
15:01The Cold War was obviously on everybody's mind,
15:03and a particularly brutal film called The Day After
15:06was aired shortly after this string of episodes.
15:08Owing to its difficult subject matter,
15:18the episodes were permanently pulled in 1996
15:21and are still unavailable to this day.
15:23Number 14,
15:24I'll See You in Court,
15:25Married with Children.
15:27In this episode of the iconic sitcom,
15:29the Bundys travel to a motel
15:31to spice up their love life.
15:32Al,
15:32The suggestion comes from Marcy Rhodes,
15:46who slept with her husband at the same motel.
15:48While there,
15:49the Bundys find a videotape
15:51of the Rhodes couple getting intimate.
15:52That guy looks a little like
15:54Stephen Marcy!
16:00Together,
16:00the couples attempt to sue the motel for voyeurism.
16:03Before the episode aired,
16:04the censors at Fox demanded cuts,
16:06but deemed even the censored version too problematic,
16:09and pulled it from release in the U.S.
16:11Steve, I feel so violated.
16:13Oh, gee, guys,
16:14if we had known you didn't know you were being taped,
16:15we never would have brought you over here
16:16and sprung this on you.
16:17I feel terrible.
16:18It finally aired in 2002,
16:23five years after the show ended,
16:25but even that airing was censored.
16:27Number 13,
16:28Buffalo Gals,
16:29Cow and Chicken.
16:30Um, excuse me, sir,
16:33but who are you guys?
16:35We're the Buffalo Gals!
16:38This surreal animated comedy show
16:40offended the censors with sexual innuendo
16:42that was a little too on the nose.
16:43A motorcycle riding gang
16:45that randomly bursts into people's homes
16:46and chews on their carpets!
16:47In this season two episode,
16:49a group of female bikers known as the Buffalo Gals
16:52break into Cow and Chicken's house.
16:54Inside, they begin to chew the carpet.
16:56One of the bikers is even called Munch Kelly.
16:58The innuendo is pretty obvious
17:00and got the show in trouble.
17:02While it did air as scheduled on June 27, 1998,
17:05it was replaced in reruns
17:07with the episode Orthodontic Police.
17:09Number 12,
17:10Promises, Promises,
17:11Boy Meets World.
17:12This popular 90s show
17:14deals with all sorts of teenage problems
17:16and milestones, including the first time having sex.
17:19In the fifth season episode,
17:20Promises, Promises,
17:21Cory and Topanga decide to sleep together after prom.
17:24What do you think?
17:25We sat down and discussed it?
17:26How dorky do you think we are?
17:29What about you and Topanga?
17:30We sat down and discussed it.
17:32Following its initial run on ABC,
17:34Boy Meets World was picked up
17:36by the Disney Channel for reruns.
17:38However, due to its sexual content,
17:40Promises, Promises was one of three episodes
17:42that the Disney Channel banned.
17:43Listen, you don't have to be confused.
17:45Okay, well, we're adults now
17:47and adults do not get confused.
17:50You're right, we're adults.
17:52The other two are
17:53The Truth About Honesty,
17:54also due to sexual content,
17:55and If You Can't Be With The One You Love,
17:57which involves teen drinking.
17:59Number 11,
18:00OOF,
18:00Hannibal.
18:01This psychological thriller horror series
18:03features a lot of grotesque imagery,
18:05but it was the way the ideas behind the episode OOF
18:08intersected with recent events
18:10that proved most troubling.
18:11The episode sees a group of foster children
18:14brainwashed by a mysterious woman
18:15into killing their biological families.
18:18Whoever this woman is,
18:19she wants these children
18:20to burst with love for her,
18:24but she has to erase their family to do that.
18:27So she abducts them,
18:29convinces them no one can love them
18:30as much as she does,
18:31and then makes damn sure of it.
18:33It was scheduled to air in April of 2013,
18:35but creator Brian Fuller
18:37personally pulled it
18:38from the United States broadcast schedule
18:39at the last minute.
18:41He cited the associations
18:42that came with the subject matter
18:43and wished to be respectful
18:45of the social climate.
18:46Our friend Will
18:47seems haunted today.
18:49We don't know what nightmares
18:50lie coiled beneath Will's pillow.
18:53Children killing other children
18:54is not that unfamiliar a notion to Will.
18:57It's believed this was in light
18:59of the tragic events
19:00at Sandy Hook Elementary School
19:01in December 2012.
19:03Number 10,
19:04Midlife Crustacean,
19:05SpongeBob Squarepants.
19:07While ostensibly for children,
19:09SpongeBob Squarepants
19:10makes many mature jokes
19:11and is enjoyed by adults
19:12the world over.
19:13The third season episode,
19:15Midlife Crustacean,
19:16embraces this
19:17and has been repeatedly
19:18called out for it.
19:19Panty raid?
19:21You're talking about girls, right?
19:24Girl, girls?
19:26Yeah.
19:27And you're talking about
19:28raiding their dressers
19:30for their underpants, right?
19:32Oh, yeah.
19:34The episode depicts
19:35a so-called panty raid,
19:36which sees Patrick,
19:37SpongeBob,
19:38and Mr. Krabs
19:38raiding a woman's house
19:39and stealing her underwear.
19:41The episode was originally
19:42supposed to air
19:43in November of 2002,
19:44but was cancelled by Nickelodeon.
19:46We hit the jackpot!
19:48Oh, yeah!
19:49Mr. Krabs!
19:51Woo-hoo!
19:51You finally came through for me, boys!
19:54I feel young again!
19:56While it was later shown
19:57on the network,
19:58future reruns
19:59have again excluded it.
20:00It's also missing
20:01from the streaming network's
20:02Paramount Plus and Prime Video.
20:04Number 9.
20:05Partial Terms of Endearment
20:06Family Guy
20:07Seth MacFarlane's animated sitcom
20:09is certainly no stranger
20:10to controversy,
20:11but the eighth season episode
20:13Partial Terms of Endearment
20:14really pushed things.
20:15In this episode,
20:16Lois becomes a surrogate mother
20:18for an old friend.
20:19I've given this long
20:20and careful thought,
20:21and I've decided to carry
20:22Naomi and Dale's child for them.
20:24You what?
20:25However, the friend and her husband
20:26are killed in a car accident,
20:28prompting Lois and Peter
20:29to consider abortion.
20:31The episode's difficult
20:32subject matter concerned Fox,
20:34who thought it would get them
20:34in trouble with advertisers.
20:36So how's it work, Doc?
20:37You strap her down
20:38and then go hacking at her
20:39like Sweeney Todd?
20:40No, no, good lord,
20:41this is not 2005.
20:43We've come a long way since then.
20:45This prompted them
20:46to pull the episode
20:47from rotation in the U.S.
20:48Adult Swim also refused
20:50to air the episode,
20:51conceding to Fox's demands.
20:53It was later made available
20:54on the Season 8 DVD,
20:55but it's currently absent
20:56from Disney+.
20:57Number 8.
20:59The Encounter
20:59The Twilight Zone.
21:01This historic show
21:02from Rod Serling
21:03often used science fiction
21:04and metaphors
21:05to comment on real issues.
21:06Of course,
21:07not every episode
21:08dealt with other worldly elements.
21:10The Encounter
21:10is a drama centered
21:11around an American
21:12World War II veteran
21:13and a Japanese-American man
21:15named Arthur.
21:16It's 20-odd years
21:17since Pearl Harbor,
21:19but two ancient opponents
21:21are moving into possession
21:22for a battle in an attic.
21:24In the veteran's attic,
21:25they have a hostile conversation
21:26stemming from their respective
21:28experiences in the war.
21:29Arthur's father was a spy
21:31who worked construction
21:32at Pearl Harbor
21:32and betrayed the Americans.
21:34He was a traitor.
21:39He signaled the planes.
21:42He showed them
21:43where to drop the bombs.
21:47He was a traitor.
21:48This reveal
21:51offended Japanese-American viewers
21:53and the resulting complaints
21:54resulted in the episode
21:55being pulled from syndication.
21:57It didn't appear
21:57on television again
21:58until 2004,
22:00a full 40 years
22:01after its original airing.
22:03Number 7.

22:05Tiny Toon Adventures
22:06This episode of Tiny Toon Adventures
22:08contains a segment
22:09called One Beer
22:10in which Buster,
22:11Plucky, and Hampton
22:12get drunk.
22:13In their intoxicated revelry,
22:14the trio steal a police car
22:16and drive it off a cliff
22:17to their deaths.
22:25The episode then ends
22:26on a clever bit
22:27of metahumor,
22:28with Buster commenting
22:29on the dark nature
22:30of the storyline
22:30by asking,
22:31do we get to do
22:32a funny episode tomorrow?
22:33I hope the kids
22:34got the message.
22:35Yeah, drinking's uncool.
22:38So do we get to do
22:39a funny episode tomorrow?
22:40I hope so.
22:42Fox Kids banned
22:43the episode
22:44over its mature content.
22:45Turns out
22:46they didn't like
22:46the protagonists drinking,
22:48going for a joyride
22:49in a stolen police cruiser
22:50and dying.
22:51Who'd have thunk?
22:52The episode remained banned
22:53for the next 22 years
22:55before it finally resurfaced
22:56on the Hub network
22:57in 2013.
22:59Number 6.
22:59Home.
23:00The X-Files
23:01Long regarded
23:02as one of the best
23:03X-Files episodes,
23:04Home is also
23:05the most controversial.
23:06It sees Mulder
23:07and Scully travel
23:08to the titular
23:09Pennsylvania town
23:10to investigate
23:10a deformed,
23:11incestuous family.
23:12The way I think
23:13it goes here
23:13is that Edmund
23:14is the brother
23:15and father
23:16of the other two.
23:18Which means
23:19that when Edmund
23:19was a kid
23:19he could ground
23:20the other two
23:20for playing with his things?
23:22The episode
23:23is a stew
23:23of horrific content
23:24featuring a disturbing story
23:26and graphic violence
23:27and became the first
23:28of the series
23:29to receive a TVMA rating.
23:31Following its initial airing,
23:32the episode
23:32was banned
23:33by Fox for reruns.
23:35They also prevented
23:35the Peacock family
23:36from returning
23:37in a later episode,
23:38as was planned
23:39by writers
23:39Glenn Morgan
23:40and James Wong.

23:52In 2002,
23:53Rio officials
23:54considered suing Fox

23:56Blame It on Lisa
23:57on the grounds
23:57that it presented
23:58a negative
23:59and inaccurate portrayal

24:12also ran into trouble.
24:14Homer befriends
24:15a man named
24:15Leon Kompowski
24:16who believes
24:17he's Michael Jackson.
24:18Jackson voiced
24:19Leon himself.
24:20I can't believe
24:20you never heard of me.
24:21I'm a very popular
24:22entertainer.
24:23Oh, of course
24:24I've heard of you.
24:26I mean,
24:26you'd have to be
24:26living under a rock
24:27not to know
24:28what'd you say
24:28your name was?
24:29But after the series
24:30showrunners
24:31saw the documentary
24:31Leaving Neverland,
24:33they were so disturbed
24:34by allegations
24:34against Jackson
24:35that they pulled
24:36the episode
24:36from circulation.
24:37It's also missing

24:52and Pikachu
24:53hits the antivirus program
24:54with a thunderbolt
24:55resulting in
24:56a massive explosion.
24:57This explosion
24:58was depicted
24:58with strobing
24:59blue and red lights.
25:01Not a good idea.
25:02It resulted in
25:03what is known
25:03as the Pokemon Shock
25:04which sent 685
25:06Japanese children
25:07to hospital
25:07with some
25:08suffering seizures
25:09and blindness.
25:10The episode
25:11currently holds
25:12the bizarre world record
25:13for most
25:13photosensitive
25:14epileptic seizures
25:15caused by a television show.
25:17Joey-san,
25:18I'm the Pikachu.
25:19Please do.
25:21Yes,
25:22I'll take care of you.
25:24The resulting controversy
25:25caused Nintendo's
25:26stock to plunge
25:27and they demanded
25:28that the episode
25:29never be repeated
25:30on television
25:30and it never has.

25:34Fear Factor
25:35This stunt show
25:36hosted by Joe Rogan
25:37was notable
25:38both for its
25:38Danger and Gross Factor.
25:40Each episode
25:41featured the contestants
25:42doing something daring,
25:43whether it was
25:44dangling off a helicopter
25:45or eating the private
25:46parts of an animal.
25:47But even for Fear Factor,
25:49the episode
25:49Hee Haw Hee Haw
25:50was just too much.
25:51Scheduled to air
25:52in January of 2012,
25:54the episode featured
25:54contestants drinking
25:55various fluids
25:56from a donkey.
25:57Good job, guys.
25:58What was that like?
25:59It was just like
26:00consistency of it
26:01and like the taste.
26:01I was not expecting it.
26:02It was like a...
26:04Like someone's been
26:05eating a lot of hay?
26:05Like someone's been
26:06eating a hell of a lot of hay.
26:07NBC let them get away
26:08with a lot,
26:09but not with this.
26:10The network decided
26:11to pull the episode
26:12and it has remained
26:13unaired ever since.
26:15Yes, you can puke now.
26:16You girls are awesome.
26:17You girls are monsters.
26:19Even that guy over there
26:20is impressed with you.
26:21However,

26:23has been uploaded
26:23to YouTube,
26:24so those daring enough
26:25can still check it out.

26:40The streets are all blocked.
26:42I think every Puerto Rican
26:43in the world
26:43is out here.
26:44Well,
26:45it is our day.
26:48Oh,
26:49I'm sorry.
26:50I'm sorry.
26:51Kramer accidentally

26:57by a mob,
26:57he remarks that,
26:58You know,
26:59it's like this
26:59every day in Puerto Rican.
27:01The result was a flood
27:02of angry letters
27:02and protests
27:03outside NBC headquarters.
27:05NBC apologized
27:06and the episode
27:07was removed

27:33To celebrate
27:34the show's 200th episode
27:35in 2010,
27:36writer Trey Parker
27:37decided to go all in
27:38and write a storyline
27:39about the show's
27:40past controversies.
27:42You just had to push it,
27:43didn't you, Stan?
27:44You just had to make fun
27:45of Tom Cruise again!
27:46This included Comedy Central's
27:48refusal to depict
27:49the Islamic prophet Muhammad
27:50after cartoons
27:51in European newspapers
27:52led to threats and attacks.
27:54After a threatening warning

27:56Revolution Muslim,
27:58Comedy Central caved
27:59and censored references
28:00to Muhammad
28:01and even an anti-censorship

28:04That's right, friends.
28:06All you need to do

28:09to hurt people
28:10and you can get

28:13The only true power
28:15is violence.
28:17This decision was met
