00:05The Defense Ministry says it detected 57 Chinese military aircraft,
00:09six naval vessels, and four official ships operating near Taiwan in the 24 hours up to Friday morning.
00:16It was the highest number of aircraft incursions in almost a year.
00:2038 of those aircraft entered Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone, or ADIZ.
00:25This area isn't Taiwan's airspace, but acts as a buffer zone for defensive purposes.
00:30It comes after China and Russia conducted a joint naval drill in the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea.
00:37The Defense Ministry says it has monitored the situation.
