Man United signing Bryan Mbuemo has helped his former club earn a huge amount of money!
Transcript
00:00Brentford have just sold Brian Umbermo to Manchester United for nearly £70 million.
00:04But it wasn't just them who cashed in big.
00:07In fact, it was a French second-tier club called Trois.
00:10Or Trois.
00:11I think I'm saying that right.
00:12Umbermo joined Brentford in 2019 from Ligue 2 side Trois.
00:17Where he had impressed in their academy.
00:19And Brentford paid just €5 million.
00:21But being the smart club they were, they made sure to include a sell-on clause in the deal.
00:25So of course, now that Umbermo signed for Manchester United for £70 million.
00:28Trois received a €7.4 million winful.
00:32Plus €2 million in training compensation.
00:34So for a club of their stature playing in Ligue 2 as recently as 2021.
00:38That kind of money is transformative.
00:41So they didn't just sign him in the past.
00:42They've now benefited from his success.
00:44And it's money that they can now reinvest into their academies.
00:47And into their ground.
00:48And into their staff.
00:49And basically making them an all-round better football club.
00:52And they didn't brag about their flair signings.
00:54They pride themselves on spotting talent early and planning long term.
00:57And that smart clause still means that they can win in the future.
01:00Even though they've sold their best players.
01:02It's not just Umbermo either.
01:04They also earned significantly.
01:05Because they're now part of the City Football Group network.
01:08So an extra €9 million on top of the original €5 million that you got from the sale.
01:12That's how you turn your football club into a sustainable growth project.
01:16And not just someone that can sell players when they need to.
01:18And everyone loves an underdog story.
01:20So if you've got one, drop it in the comments below.
01:22Thanks.
