00:00Has Flo Balogun cost Chelsea a shot at the Premier League title?
00:04When news emerged on deadline day that Balogun had failed his Everton medical
00:07and the deal was in jeopardy, Europe's elite perked up.
00:10The US striker plays for Monaco at the moment
00:12and due to financial constraints, they needed to sell a big star.
00:15They had opted for Balogun over Lamine Kamara,
00:18one of the most highly sought-after midfielders in the world.
00:20So, Monaco pivoted.
00:21Moments after the news of the stumbling block emerged,
00:24Chelsea agreed a deal with Monaco for Kamara.
00:27This was huge.
00:28Chelsea had just lost Enzo Fernandes to Man City
00:30and had only three recognised midfielders.
00:32It was a blessing, perhaps a sign from a higher power
00:35that maybe this year is the year.
00:38Half an hour later, it was dead.
00:39Chelsea were raging and Balogun didn't even join Everton anyway.
00:41Monaco pulled the plug.
00:42Chelsea missed out on their midfielder.
00:44Everton missed out on their striker
00:45and Monaco missed out on £80m worth of sales.
00:47The Blues' depth in midfield is a massive concern.
00:50There are three recognised midfielders that I mentioned just now.
00:53Caicedo, who is injured.
00:55Lavia, who is always injured.
00:56And Jordan Henderson.
00:57Valentin Barco, Malagusta and Rhys James can all play there,
01:01but to what standard?
01:02Chelsea's window was largely positive,
01:04but there is a glaring hole in their squad
01:05which could come back to bite them.
01:07Maybe the signing of Jordan Henderson was for more
01:09than just dressing room morale after all.
01:11We'll be right back to the stehen space-by-ригmas.
