00:00Hey tarot friends, it's Jennifer. So I just got this in because, I don't know, I feel like the
00:12Dark Feminine is really rising and I felt maybe called to get this particular deck, The Call of
00:19the Morgan. I have her indie deck, the Stephanie Woodfield and Karen Storminger, I'm not sure if
00:27they're the authors, but I know Naomi Kornak is the author of the other deck that is escaping me
00:34right now, but it's really beautiful art, really a resting art. I guess beautiful might be a stretch,
00:42it's not particularly beautiful, it's powerful if that makes sense. So let's dig into this and
00:50see what we have here, because I don't know much about this deck. I'd seen it for a little while
00:58and it's like, maybe not, and now suddenly I'm like, okay. Anybody else seen a lot of Crows and
01:05Ravens lately? Yeah, anybody else seen that? Yeah, I feel like we're just seeing a lot of,
01:17uh, a lot of that. I feel, like I said, I feel like the Dark Feminine is really, really rising
01:22right now, which is not a bad thing. So as I fight with the plastic, um, this box is really
01:29pretty. It's very big. Oh, it's, it's magnetic. Yay. Um, but it's very big. I don't think it needs
01:37to be that big. Wow, the book is huge. Okay. So really big book. Um, and let's see if I can get
01:45the cards out here. The cards are pretty large as well, but they're Oracle card size. I'm going
01:52to put the box. Oh, sorry. I whacked the camera. I'm going to put the box down and let's, let's
02:01see what we have here with the, um, I'm going to look at the book first. Shed your limitations
02:09and step into your full power. Answer the call of the Morrigan and connect with her in a multitude
02:15of ways. With this empowering guidebook, you'll discover the myths and stories that inspired each
02:20card and their divinatory meetings. The Morrigan isn't shy about sending omens, dreams, and other
02:27messages. Whether you are new to the great queen or already a devotee, this set will deepen your
02:33relationship with her and hone your interpretation skills. Featuring Oracle spread spells, rituals,
02:39this guidebook will show you how to maximize the cards, power, and enhance your bond with the Raven
02:44Goddess. That's so cool. Literary. Oh, and it's, um, not a full color, but that's okay. I think that
02:51would be a lot because this art is kind of a lot, but I really like, wow, there's a lot in here.
02:56There's spell for community building, um, spell to see clearly like, oh, this is really cool. So it's
03:04not just a, it's not just a, I want to, don't want to say just a guidebook. It's not a guidebook only
03:11for the cards. There's a lot of information in there. And here are the backs. I kid you not,
03:19yesterday or two days ago now, two days ago, I saw the biggest Raven I've ever seen when I was in a
03:25drive-thru. He poked his head out and, uh, caught at me. It was quite something. They're really
03:31beautiful birds. So, so smart. Um, I'm gonna, um, zoom in just a little here. I'm gonna have a new
03:39cloth or background here soon. This one needs to be washed. My washer broke the other day. So
03:46we're, we're waiting on, on, uh, a new one here. So, um, we have keywords, but it looks like they're
03:54keywords, um, that are of the goddess herself. So, um, bad and then matcha.
04:05And see what I mean by this art is quite arresting. It isn't necessarily beautiful,
04:10but it's certainly powerful. Anu. I think these are, these are the three faces of, of her. Um,
04:20the crone and the mother and the maiden, I think perhaps. Yeah. Um, I'll look that up in a minute.
04:29All right. So, washer at the ford. Numbing.
04:49Shapeshifter. So, this is one I'm gonna have to really study and read the guidebook for sorcerers.
04:55But, um, again, this art is arresting, right? This is likely not an oracle I'm gonna go to
05:04every day. Is it Fia? Fia. Lady of Sovereignty. I love all the crows and ravens. All the ravens,
05:13I guess. It's not crows, it's ravens.
05:19Cuchulain. Is that how you say that? Some of it is rather violent looking, but that,
05:25I mean, okay, so the Morrigan is a goddess of battle and war and, right? Um, and, like,
05:37she would send her crows to the battlefield, right? Or her ravens to the battlefield.
05:45And, again, dark feminine. But we'll read about her maybe in a little bit here with the oracle,
05:57because I don't want to misspeak. She is quite a powerful deity.
06:05And honestly, not someone you really want to call in lightly, right?
06:09Like I said, some, because of this, the nature of this deck, it is really, some of it is really,
06:21really beautiful, right? And some of it is just really, really difficult to look at. These are
06:30quite beautiful. It looks like colored pencil, maybe, or colored pencil and watercolor. Can't really
06:40tell. Definitely a battlefield scene there. Raven.
06:49And then eel. That's another one of her symbols. And cow. And wolf is, yeah, wolf is one of her symbols, too.
07:01tribe. Blessings. That'll all. This one's really bloody. Victory. Peace.
07:25Peace. The art on this is really fantastic. Feast. Fate. Yikes. Look. Shield. Joining.
07:55Incitement. Forgiveness. Consequences. Justice. Oh, wow. That's an interesting death card, isn't it?
08:18Oath. Offerings. And cycles. Cardstock is really lovely. This is, is this a Blue Angel deck? It feels like it is. I don't think.
08:38I don't think it is. I'm looking for the publisher and I'm not even seeing the publisher mix. FSC.
08:53So it's not a publisher like Blue Angel or U.S. Games or, or Llewellyn that I recognize.
09:06Um, but the cardstock is really nice. It's, um, very soft. It's not that icky rose petal that's sticky. Um, like it feels like it's gonna shuffle really well.
09:19So let's see if I can get this to, there we go. We'll add a little more and we'll give it, it shuffles really beautifully that way. I think it's gonna shuffle beautifully. Um, let's see.
09:36It'll shuffle. It's pretty big, but my hands can get around it, but I'm a, a six foot tall person. Yeah, it shuffles gorgeously. Um, if your hands are smaller, you can certainly, um, waterfall shuffle it like this really easily because the cards are very bendy. I can even bridge it that way.
09:59Okay. They're bendy, but they're not like, it's cardstock. It's not, it doesn't feel like cereal boxes. Does that make sense? But it, it shuffles really beautifully. All right. So let's pull a card. Um, before I turn that card over though, um, I'm going to take this top one. I do want to read a little bit about the Morrigan. Um, let's see.
10:28Really, really nice book. Um, let's see. Oh, there's a lot in here. Let's see. Um, the Morrigan wears numerous faces, quite literally. Generally speaking, the Morrigan can be seen as the triple goddess formed by a trio of sisters,
10:57but she is also so much more. The Morrigan is a shapeshifter and wears several archetypal guises in Irish mythology. The La Borgala Iren, or Book of Invasions, tells us that the goddess of Ernest has three daughters, Machababd and Morrigan,
11:12the later whose name was also, um, Anand. Yet there are more than three goddesses who have at one point or another been associated with the Morrigan.
11:23Um, there are different suits. So outer worlds, inner worlds, spirits of the land. Um, this, this is going to actually take some reading, I think,
11:37in order to really, uh, get into it. Yeah. So crows are also associated with her, but I, I, for the most part, I really associate her with ravens. Um,
11:55not necessarily the caw, caw, caw, caw, but like that grok sound that ravens make. Um, but, you know, crows too.
12:04So let's see what we have here. We, ooh, we have sorceress. Look at that imagery.
12:13We've got the skulls. We've got her cauldron or her working here. We've got the ravens or crows
12:18above here. That's quite something. So let's look up sorceress and see, uh, what we have here.
12:31Keywords, magic, will manifestation, tipping the scales. The Morrigan here as three sisters,
12:38rages and dances, raging, raising energy and weaving it into magic. One of the sisters transforms half
12:45woman half cow. The second is deep in trance. Oh, there. Okay. Yeah. Um, and the third sister pours
12:55an offering on the altar, sealing their intent and desire with their spell above in the smoke. We see
13:02the battle they wish to influence. So here we have the three here. Their skilled magic tips, the scales,
13:11making the outcome. They desire a reality. Their chosen warriors win the day while their enemies
13:16stumble and lose their nerve. This is not the first battle the sisters have influenced and not the
13:22last. The Morrigan has been credited with influencing several battles, both historic and mythological.
13:29In the Caith mage, uh, Turid, I am totally butchering that. I'm sorry. I don't, I don't speak.
13:34Is that Gaelic or is that, um, I think the trio of sisters was sent to distract the Firbolg when the
13:43Tuatha de Donnan first arrived in Ireland. They conjured a magical reign of fire and blood, giving the
13:50Tuatha the time they needed to prepare for battle. Divinatory meaning. The sorceress does not leave things
13:56to chance. She weaves her will into the threads of reality. Her will can shape the future and influence
14:03the world around her. She knows magic is only as powerful as the one who wields it. When the
14:09sorceress appears, it signifies magic and a strong will is needed for the situation at hand. You need
14:15to actively shape the world around you, whether that is through practical or magical means. The
14:20situation will not change and the scales will not tip if you don't take action. Create the world you
14:26wish to have around you. Weave it into reality thread by thread through your own will and desire and
14:32through the magic that is inherently within you. The sorceress can also appear when magic of any
14:37kind, good or ill, is influencing your situation. And then there's some candle magic for manifesting.
14:45Cool. And then after this candle magic, leave an offering to the morgue and then let the candle burn down in a fire safe dish. Yeah. Wow. Well, that's cool. The sorceress.
15:03Some of you know I've been pulling the high priestess a whole lot lately too, so this resonates. But like I said, this image may not be pretty in the general sense, but there's tons of symbology in this between the battle and the clouds and the three sorceresses here, the three triple goddess here.
15:32She's changing out of a crow, I think. Here she is here. Um, lots and lots and lots of symbols and this really intricate art. Um, so yeah, I think the call of the morgan oracle is going to be a powerful little oracle. Let me see if I can find the other oracle by the same creator.
15:58Here it is. Here it is. It's by Naomi Kornock. It's the, um, creator, the artist of the call of the morgan, um, oracle. This is so beautiful. It's called old ways magic oracle. And it's, um,
16:15it's a powerful little oracle as well. I've had this one for a while. Um, it looks like this. This is indie. Sorry, I just hit my camera again. Um, this is kind of like that plasticky coated, uh, cardstock. You can kind of tell it feels like, um,
16:39that PVC, that plastic PVC or whatever they call it. So, but sacred journey strength. Like it's,
16:46it's still really arresting imagery. I love that one. But I feel like the call of the morgan. Oh my goodness. Did she capture
17:00the morgan in that? I wonder if sovereignty is her? Because this looks like, uh,
17:15the, uh, seranos. This is really lovely. Really interesting, um, I can tell I've used it because it's all candywampus, but
17:35really interesting art. Um, and some of it is very sweet and some of it is very, like, there she is.
17:50There she is. Battle ready. Retribution. There she is again. So this is very, um, morgan heavy
18:01as well. There's a shoe and a gig down there. So, uh, I think these two will kind of work
18:18beautifully together. Uh, so, yeah. Michelle, there's the battle, the death card.
18:32But again, both of these are, feel very intense, right? This is not, these aren't decks that I'm
18:39going to, I'm going to go to every, you know, every day. Um, sorry if there was a weird edit. I whacked
18:46the camera and I don't want to make you dizzy. So, um, these are not decks I would go to every day,
18:52right? Um, so let's pull a card from this one. We have the sorceress from the morgan. And what do we
18:59have from the old ways, magic oracle? We have protection. How beautiful. So let's see what that says.
19:10Um, it says, bear emphasizes the importance of rest and self-care. Take time to gather our strength
19:17so our inner peace and spirit can be protected from the chaos of the world. Welcome. Take a break.
19:23Rest is required to continue the journey. Warning. Finding yourself pushing too far and depleting your
19:29inner strength and wisdom to, uh, ursus I ask. Guide me to protect my inner self and gather strength
19:36for more challenging times. That's a really pretty message. And I think, um, one many of
19:42you watching would likely agree with because that's been a repeating message, at least for me lately,
19:49is to protect your peace, right? So there we go. That is the call of the morgan. Um, again,
19:57I was hemming and hawing about this one. Um, but it's really fascinating. And, you know,
20:04I know the art is not for everyone, but this art is very, very much the morgan. It is very, um,
20:18it, it, it, it's fitting. So call of the morgan, I think it's a fabulous deck. It really wasn't that
20:25expensive. The book is incredibly, um, extensive. And I think there's a, there's, there's a spell for
20:32every single card, um, in the deck. So that's pretty neat. So thank you for watching. Um, I'm
20:42going to sign off now. This is Jennifer with Bohemia and Rose Tarot. I am wishing you much love
20:49and many roses. I will see you next time. Bye.
