The family of mistaken terror suspect Jean Charles de Menezes have said it is a “travesty” no police officer has been held accountable 20 years after he was shot dead.

00:25after failed bombing attempts on the london transport network it came two weeks after the
00:32seven seven terror attacks which killed 52 people in central london in 2005. mr de menenez was shot
00:42seven times in the head in stockwell tube station the day after police mistakenly identified him as
00:50one of the suspects for the failed bombings would-be suicide bombers had targeted the
00:59transport network on the 21st of july but their devices failed to explode police found an address
01:07on scotia road in tulsa hill written on a gym members hip in one of the unexploded bags used by the
01:16bombers mr de menenez who lived in one of the flats at scotia road was wrongly identified by police as
01:24hussein osman one of the terrorists no officers were ever prosecuted for the killing of mr de menenez
01:33but the metropolitan police were fined for breaching health and safety laws a minute's silence was held
01:42to mark the moment the 27 year old was killed a prayer was also read in both portuguese and english
01:52and traditional south american music was played in his honor relatives say the anniversary marks a
02:01renewed call for truth and accountability for those responsible for his death
02:07and the real change will you not forget will you not be silent will you keep demanding justice
